AOC has made an announcement today that will have the DNC establishment types filling their pants.
The Dems have long held an arrogance in their political DNA. That arrogance expressed itself as the habit of cynically addressing people not as individuals but as groups which they could co-opt as a means to an end.
It never seems to occur to them that the restless political forces of envy and grievance they are flirting with are like dingos or CUJO. Attending a pro-DACA event, Pelosi was shocked to discover that instead of getting a hero’s welcome, she was met with an angry mob of illegals making demands on her far beyond what she’s been willing to promise. She may have thought that her party was leveraging illegals for their political advantage, but it never occurred to her that SHE might be the one being used and manipulated on someone else’s political chessboard.
In the same sense, Democrats were thrilled to showcase their new crop of left-wing activists as the fresh face of the party, thrusting what’s now become ‘The Squad’ into prominence as the face long before they were tested.
It never occurred to the Democrat establishment that the Democratic Socialists of America would have an agenda of their own, to hijack the party and drag it kicking and screaming to the far left.
Even though the writing has been on the wall for any of us to see. Some of us *cough* ClashDaily *cough* have predicted this trend from the very beginning. With AOC’s announcement, the Democrats are only now discovering they will have to pay the piper.
She is starting her own bizarro-world Leftist version of the Tea Party to explicitly knock off Democrat politicians that aren’t ‘woke’ enough.
