WATCH: Nancy Pelosi’s ‘Believe All Women’ Stance Flip-Flops When The Accused Is Joe Biden, Not Brett Kavanaugh

***UPDATE: Thursday, April 30, 1:40 pm Eastern

Speaker Pelosi told a reporter from The Washington Examiner that she “doesn’t need a lecture or a speech” when she was asked about the double-standard that Democrats are using regarding the “Believe All Women” slogan that they all stood behind during the Kavanaugh confirmation.

Actually, that’s precisely what she needs. She needs to either condemn Joe Biden and stand by Tara Reade as her commitment to “believing survivors” made her do in 2018, or admit that due process rights are to be afforded to all people no matter what party they belong to and apologize for weaponizing the MeToo movement as a political move to attack a Republican Supreme Court Nominee. Anything less then either of those options is politcal gamesmanship.

END UPDATE***

Gee, what could have possibly changed to make Speaker Pelosi shift her position?

It couldn’t be the political party that the accused is affiliated with, could it?

No, that couldn’t possibly be it.

It must be the severity of the accusation, then.

Brett Kavanaugh was accused by Christine Blasey Ford of pushing her on a bed and trying to grope her while he was a drunk teenager. The additional accusations were by Deborah Ramirez, who accused him of waving “Little Brett” in her face at a college party but didn’t include any contact, and the Julie Swetnik accusation that Kavanaugh was running a gang-rape ring at house parties when he was a high school sophomore was just ridiculous.

Joe Biden, on the other hand, is accused of digitally raping a subordinate (a Senate aide) when he 51 years old and a sitting U.S. Senator. He had been the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee while Clarence Thomas was accused of sexual harassment just a couple of years before the alleged incident.

Well, that couldn’t be it. The Biden accusation seems to be much more serious.

Clearly, it’s the credibility of the accusation, right? Christine Blasey Ford had no corroborating witnesses and every single person that she named denied the house party where the incident allegedly took place even happened. She didn’t know where or whose house it was, the date, who else was there, how she got home, or any other details. There is not any evidence that Christine Blasey Ford and Brett Kavanaugh had ever actually met.

Tara Reade, Biden’s accuser, has allegedly filed a report, spoke to her family, over the years gave accounts to various people and several have come forward corroborating her story. Most recently, a former neighbor–a Democrat who plans on voting for Biden–said that Reade recounted the sexual assault accusation and the silencing that she endured just a couple of years after the incident. There is also video of an unnamed woman that Reade claims is her mother, calling Larry King Live asking what recourse a Congressional staffer has if their complaints against a “well-respected” Senator are ignored.

Oh, dear! It looks like the Biden accusation is ridiculous as well.

Despite this, a video of Speaker Pelosi heartily endorsing the presumptive Democratic nominee was uploaded to Biden’s YouTube channel on Monday.

The Biden campaign put out a statement denying Reade’s allegation but Joe himself has not publicly addressed it, and despite several appearances on cable news shows that he has done after Reade came forward, he has not been directly asked about it.

Now that the Reade accusation has become impossible to ignore, Democrats including Pelosi are finally being questioned about where they stand.

This morning on CNN, Speaker Pelosi appeared on CNN and said that she was “satisfied” with the way that he responded.

Ummm… he didn’t actually respond yet.

This is Speaker Pelosi’s new line. Watch her say as much to MSNBC host Ari Melber on April 17:

Melber, to his credit, is actually covering Reade’s accusation. Granted, it isn’t the hair-on-fire way that MSNBC was breathlessly reporting all of the Kavanaugh accusations and promoting “Believe All Women.”

Here is Melber giving it a reasonable summary:

Back in September 2018, Speaker Pelosi made her views on Christine Blasey Ford’s so-called “credible” accusation against Brett Kavanaugh. She said that women deserve to be heard and believed.

PELOSI: We’re here to stand in support of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and to applaud her courage as she prepares to tell her story…

…What’s happening here has lifetime impact. The crimes themselves–the allegations that have been made are about offenses that have a lifetime impact. And a person whose name is being put forward for a lifetime service on the Supreme Court. It’s not right.

So there are two equities to be weighed. One equity is the integrity of the Supreme Court the other equity to be weighed is the respect that we have for women when they come forward…

[Blah, blah, blah. Stammer, stammer, stammer. Politics, politics, politics. Blah, blah, blah.]

They’re [Senate Republicans] so afraid of the truth and they’re so afraid of a woman, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and the truth that she will stell–tell.

So, right now, since we called this press conference, other relega–uh, allegations have come forward. We join–I join, Leader Schumer in calling for Judge Kavanaugh to withdraw his name from consideration. If he does not, at the very least, this hearing should be postponed because other allegations have come forth. We insist on investigation–it’s not… it’s a vetting by the FBI, the normal vetting of the FBI of a federal appointee, in this case, for life, to the Supreme Court…

…If the Republican members of the Committee–the Judiciary Committee in the Senate decide to go forward they have to know that they are having a demoralizing impact on and a chilling effect on the entire movement of courageous women who are telling their stories and demanding justice. These men, they just can’t possibly know…

[Blah, blah, blah. Senator Orrin Hatch is a hypocrite. Blah, blah, blah.]

…In any event, we are here to show our solidarity, we’re here to show our respect for all women who have a case–have it respected, for due process, to investigate, to find the truth, not fear it and also to remember the responsibility we to the integrity of the Supreme Court.

She’s comfortable with tossing aside Kavanaugh as a possible Supreme Court Justice because it’s so important to maintain the integrity of the Supreme Court, but the Presidency? Eh, Bill Clinton pretty much brought a wrecking ball to that office with a cigar and an intern and that’s only because of Matt Drudge’s reporting. Otherwise, the Media(D) would try to cover it up as they did with JFK’s sexual escapades, and as they tried to do with the sexual assault accusation by Tara Reade.

And then, there were the tweets by Pelosi.

Suddenly, it’s inconvenient to #BelieveSurvivors, so Pelosi is backing the hair-sniffing, kissy, too handsy, makes-women-uncomfortable, skinny-dipping-in-front-of-female-Secret-Service-agents kind of a guy.

That seems rational and completely consistent with her previous “Believe all women”, right?

Now watch Speaker Pelosi’s endorsement video and how she tries to keep a smile pasted onto her face as she reads the teleprompter.

She doesn’t even believe what she’s saying.

That part where she says, “I am proud to endorse Joe Biden for President–a leader who is the personification of hope and courage, values, authenticity, and integrity” is particularly cringe-inducing.

But this is the candidate that the Democrats chose.

The race to November is going to be quite interesting as we watch Democrats completely contradict themselves to back a terrible candidate as Speaker Pelosi has just done.
