Did Amy Klobuchar Miss An Opportunity To Prevent The Death Of George Floyd Entirely?

There were red flags raised about the cops under whose heavy hand (or knees) George Floyd met an untimely end.

If Klobuchar had known then what she knows now, would Angry Amy have handled allegations against these rogue cops differently?

Before Klobuchar was a Presidential candidate with one lame ‘snow woman’ story she tells again and again…

Before she was a Senator…

She was a prosecutor. And among the cases that came before her were complaints against police officers. Namely, some of the same police officers that were directly involved in Floyd’s final moments.

The Minnesota senator Amy Klobuchar, a former Democratic presidential candidate, has faced backlash for what critics have called a tame demand for “a complete and thorough outside investigation”, and is now being questioned on her record. Between 1999 and 2007, Klobuchar, the state’s then top prosecutor, declined to press charges against more than a dozen officers accused of killing civilians.

In 2006, Chauvin was one of several officers involved in the shooting death of a man who stabbed others before turning on the police.

Although Klobuchar was the Hennepin county attorney at the time of an October 2006 police shooting involving Chauvin, she did not prosecute and instead the case went to a grand jury that declined to charge the officers with wrongdoing in 2008.

As protests continued in the Twin Cities on Wednesday, Chauvin’s past altercations have drawn additional scrutiny of the Minneapolis police department’s handling of Floyd’s death, and race relations with law enforcement in the state. —The Guardian

Could this Democrat Presidential contender and short-list VEEP consideration have taken another path? Could taking a harder line on police malfeasance have made a difference in kicking this bad cop out of the system in time to save Floyd’s life?

It’s one possibility. (So much for that Veep slot.)

If nothing else, the people of Minneapolis might have actually believed that fatal encounters with cops are evaluated with the seriousness such encounters truly warrant. And being under scrutiny may have kept the cops that killed him from being quite so cavalier in their use of physical restraints.

But Democrats like Sharpton and Mad Maxine will go ahead and look for ways to blame Trump for what happened in a solidly blue state.
