WATCH: Rand Paul Isn’t Kissing Little Lord Fauci’s Ring At The Hearings… Asks Tough Questions
Some folks are quick to sweep Fauci’s botched medical predictions under the rug — but DOCTOR Rand Paul is not one of them.
If anyone is cognizant of the potential risks involved with this virus, it would be a Doctor (missing part of his lung, mind you) who has already survived an encounter with this much-feared illness.
So he could hardly be said to be taking the risks unseriously when he challenged the media’s new favorite doctor about whether public school should proceed as normal, come November.
Paul came back to Fauci with facts and said that however much he might respect Dr. Fauci, he doesn’t think Fauci should be the end-all or the one to make this decision. He argued for a decentralization of the decision-making to the local level, specifically because so many ‘experts’ have gotten it wrong.

“The mortality between 0 and 18 in the New York data approaches zero. It’s not going to be absolutely zero, but it almost approaches zero. Between 18-45, the mortality rate was 10 out of 100 thousand. So really, we do need to be thinking about that, we need to observe with an open mind what went on in Sweden where kids kept going to school. The mortality per capita in Sweden is actually less than France, less than Italy, less than Spain, less than Belgium, less than the Netherlands, about the same as Switzerland.
But basically, I don’t hear anyone saying that what happened in Sweden is an unacceptable result. I think people are intrigued by it and we should be.
I don’t think any of us are certain when we do up these modelings. There have been more people wrong with modellings than right. We’re opening up a lot of economies around the US, and I hope that people who are predicting gloom and doom and saying ‘we can’t do this, there’s going to be a surge’ will admit that they were wrong if there is no surge.
Senator Paul was later asked about the exchange on Fox News.
“I don’t question Dr. Fauci’s motives,” Paul told host Martha MacCallum.
“I think he’s a good person, I think he wants what’s best for the country, but he’s an extremely cautious person,” the senator added. “I don’t think any of these experts are omniscient. I think they have a basis of knowledge but when you prognosticate about the future or advocate for things dramatic and drastic, like closing all the schools, you should look at all the information.”
…In one of the more tense moments of Tuesday’s hearing, Paul – the only U.S. senator to have had a confirmed case of COVID-19 – said the public health response to the pandemic has been riddled with “wrong prediction after wrong prediction” and that Fauci should not be the one making decisions on issues outside his purview.
…Paul, who is an ophthalmologist, argued that advice from Fauci and other medical experts over when and how to reopen the country should be taken “with a grain of salt.”
“We have to take with a grain of salt these experts and their prognostication,” he said. “The future is very uncertain but turning down and closing the entire economy has been devastating and that is a fact.” —FoxNews
