2A MATTERS: St. Louis Couple Defend Their Home From Protesters Trespassing In Their Gated Community (VIDEO)

A Missouri couple is being lambasted on social media for exercising their Constitutional right to bear arms while not much is being said about the trespassing protesters.

There are two rights on display here, the right to peacefully protest, as well as the right to bear arms in defense of one’s self and one’s property.

Husband and wife, Mark and Patricia McCloskey, could be seen aiming the guns at demonstrators who walked by their palatial property in the wealthy Forest Park area at around 6pm on Sunday.

At one point, the pair seemed to be unknowingly pointing their weapons at one another other while trying to keep protesters away from their home – dubbed the Niemann Mansion.

The protesters were en route to Mayor Lyda Krewson’s home to demand her resignation after she released the names and addresses of residents who had suggested defunding the police department.

The video of the McCloskeys has gone viral.

The pair of attorneys from St. Louis have been pilloried in the Media(D) for allegedly pointing guns at “peaceful protesters” on Sunday. And yes, it did remain peaceful–also, no one was shot.

Here’s the thing about the protesters, though…there were about 300 of them and they were trespassing on private property. Yes, it looks like they were on the sidewalk and the street, but these were private.

They had broken their way into the gated community where the McCloskeys live.

The pair are both personal injury lawyers and run McCloskey Law Center from inside their extravagant home.

The Media(D) jumped all over it showing that the terrible, terrible homeowners were trying to protect their property.

Quite the take, really.

How were the homeowners to know that the 300 protesters demanding the defunding of police would remain peaceful?

Notorious race-hustler Tariq Nasheed jumped on this and called the McCloskeys a “crazed suspected white supremacist couple.”

Isn’t that slander? If not, show proof, Nasheed.

Fortunately, other people had some actual sane thoughts.

But it’s more than that.

This couple has a right to protect their property. These very “protesters” were calling for the defunding of the police–that’s literally what brought them into the neighborhood. If you can’t call the police, what are you going to do? You’ll have to defend yourself, right?

It’s not like we haven’t seen these protests repeatedly devolve into chaos with smashing and looting for the past month.

The Daily Caller actually did a little digging and determined that these protesters were trespassing.

Incidentally, Missouri is a “Castle Doctrine” state which is more robust than the “Stand Your Ground” laws in other states.

If you take a look inside, this home certainly is palatial.

Also of note, their home is located in Portland Place, which is registered as a national historic site that is now covered by President Trump’s Executive Order. The area is gated and has just under 100 homes built between 1890 and 1960.

What is truly fascinating is that Mr. McCloskey is currently representing a man who claims that he is the victim of police brutality.

You’d think the protesters would love the guy.

Mr McCloskey is representing a victim of police brutality. The man – who was identified by the initials I.F. – was kicked and struck by police officer David Maas in shocking dashcam footage that appeared to show him surrendering…

…Mr McCloskey said of the case: ‘I’m glad that the law enforcement agencies are subject to the same standard as everybody else’.

To sum up, 300 protesters broke into a gated community, a man and his wife went outside to protect their property with weapons as they are permitted to in the Constitution, and the protest didn’t devolve into chaos, nor was anyone shot. Still, the one side was vilified, while the other was not.

Still, it wouldn’t be a bad idea for the McCloskeys to brush up on their firearms safety.
