DEAR CNN: ‘Don’t Ask Don’t Tell’ Your Leftist Audience About Biden’s Past Anti-Gay Statements (VIDEO)

Don’t expect Anderson Cooper or Don Lemon to blast this from the rooftops.

As Pride Month comes to a close, some old statements by former Vice President Joe Biden about LGBT rights are coming under scrutiny.

Although Biden has long touted his support for the LGBT community, it isn’t so cut and dry.

Back in June 2019, Biden angered a bunch of liberal donors when he said that making fun of a gay waiter was fine as late as 2014.

Recently, the glad-handing politician who has spent portions of the better part of 5 decades in public office said that he was always for gay marriage.

During a town hall event in New Hampshire last year, Biden went so far as to tell supporters that unlike former President Barack Obama, he “didn’t have to evolve at all” on gay marriage. (Biden famously backed gay marriage before his running mate did, during the Obama administration.)

That doesn’t actually jibe with Joe’s public statements. We don’t have to go all that far back–in 2008, he said that he was opposed to gay marriage.

Oh, look… here’s video:

In 2006, Biden said on Meet The Press that marriage is between a man and a woman supporting the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).

“You know, think about this. The world’s going to Hades in a handbasket,” Biden told anchor Tim Russert. ” I can’t believe the American people can’t see through this. We already have a law, the Defense of Marriage Act. We’ve all voted—not, where I’ve voted, and others have said, look, marriage is between a man and a woman and states must respect that. Nobody’s violated that law, there’s been no challenge to that law. Why do we need a constitutional amendment? Marriage is between a man and a woman.”

In 2004, Biden said that DOMAs were a “state issue.”

Biden voted with other senators in a 1994 measure to “cut off federal funds to any school district that teaches acceptance of homosexuality as a lifestyle.”

He also had a rather confusing history with the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policies in the 1990s. In 1993, he backed legislation codifying it, but before that he had voted for an amendment that would have removed it.

If you sift through Joe’s older statements, he’s said Things That Should Not Be Said™ in 2020.

Like this old video from 1990 when he was in the Senate discussing flag desecration. He strangely brought up a hypothetical situation where homosexual sexual acts were being performed on the flag and were criminalized, but heterosexual acts “maybe not.”

He’s acknowledging that there might be double-standards in how homosexual and heterosexual acts are viewed. That’s not very “progressive.”

But when you go even further back, in 1973, Joe Biden was concerned that gay people could pose “security risks.”

“My gut reaction,” Joe Biden reportedly declared in 1973, “is that they [homosexuals] are security risks, but I must admit I haven’t given this much thought…I’ll be darned!’”

He made that remark during a meeting with constituents, concerning the issue of gay people working in the federal government, according to a local news article unearthed last year by The Washington Free Beacon.

Yes, times have changed since the 1970s, and the public’s views of homosexuality have certainly changed in that time–but “cancel culture” says that that doesn’t matter. As stupid as it is, we are to judge everyone’s past statements in the light of 2020 values, not the ones prevalent at the time of the statements.

Well, if that’s the case, let’s do that to Joe Biden and see how it works, eh?

It seems that Joe was really on a roll in 1973.

Will Don Lemon “cancel” Joe Biden for his anti-gay language and his history of racial insensitivity?

Probably not.

At what point are Biden’s old statements too “problematic” for leftists?

He’s had a MeToo accusation:

He’s made many, many racially insensitive remarks:

He’s even got a slave-holding ancestor that he shares a name with:

He actually insults voters:

If that’s not enough, he’s even admitted that he pressured Ukraine to fire the prosecutor investigating Burisma, the company that his son was paid tens of thousands of dollars a month to sit on the board for:

Still, the Media(D) covers for this schmuck.

Hillary was the absolutely worst candidate to run for president…and she’s truly awful, but perhaps has some stiff competition with Bumblin’ Biden whose record is shockingly even worse.
