NEW SEGREGATION: Oregon Dictates Mask Mandates That Apply Differently To Different Ethnic Groups

You absolutely must comply with the mask laws (if you’re white). If you happen to be some other color, who is uncomfortable wearing masks, you will get a pass.

Well, that’s true in Lincoln County Oregon, anyway.

Congrats, you pandering idiots, you have just voided any meaning to your insistence that people wear masks. You really can’t have it both ways. Especially when there are no consequences for non-compliance.

Either COVID is the monster lurking under our bed that will eat us all alive, or it is not. If this Chinese Coronavirus is truly an existential threat to society, whose only remedy is that we follow all the protection steps to the letter, then there is no room whatsoever for any exceptions or exemptions.

If some people can choose to opt-out for reasons of personal preference, that means it is NOT being treated as a critical public health threat. That, in turn, means we can all exercise our own judgment and risk assessments: Am I in a high-risk category? Do I have reasons to object to mask use? Etc.

But Oregon health officials simply couldn’t get through this without racial pandering.

Last week, health officials declared face coverings would be required in public settings where individuals may come within six feet of someone outside their household after the county saw a spike in coronavirus cases.

They threw in a couple of carve-outs for children, people with certain breathing difficulties, and those with a disability that would make mask-wearing impossible.

Now they have added a new exemption. Don’t wear if it makes you uncomfortable, or concerned about racial profiling.

“For many Black people, deciding whether or not to wear a bandana in public to protect themselves and others from contracting coronavirus is a lose-lose situation that can result in life-threatening consequences either way,” Director of ACLU’s Racial Justice Program ReNika Moore told CNN in April.

Ohio State University economic professor Trevor Logan said that enforcing Black people to wear a mask would be “basically telling people to look dangerous given racial stereotypes that are out there.” — NewsWeek

After all the hoopla about COVID being racist and therefore more dangerous to black people than to white people, (no, really, that was an angle pushed by some supposed reporters) you might expect the medical professionals to be MORE insistent that a mask be worn by high-risk populations. (It really IS more dangerous to Black Americans, but that has more to do with underlying health risks.)

But we have long since passed through the looking-glass, into a world where Scientific ‘Experts’ are more likely to be governed by feelings than data.
