They showed up to read from a script. Then he asked them a pretty straightforward question that jacked with their assumptions and left them flummoxed.

They were expecting to show up, wearing their scrubs and labcoats, to do their little tribute to wokeness and go on with their day.

The phrase ‘Black Lives Matter’ could be taken two ways. The way it is used in all the sloganeering has a very narrow and weaponized meaning. That’s the one these medical professionals came ready to back.

You even see someone reply to the prompt by taking a knee with her little sign, while others stood back and held theirs, if they brought them.

Then the guy with the microphone, who we can almost certainly assume is black, judging by the confused reaction he’s getting from the crowd, kicks out the walls of their assumptions by including other lives to the equasion.

Suddenly, that woke kneeler rushes back to the safe anonymity of the crowd… while the enthusiastic cheers fall away to subdued confusion.

This guy put on a clinic (if you’ll pardon the pun) for exposing the differnce between intelligent agreement with a statement of fact, and Pavovlian responses to political cues.

Without a script, they were torn. Do they dare to utter heresy in front of their peers by agreeing with the guy with the microphone, or do they let him expose the shallow lie at the root of their sloganeering, that the only black lives they give a damn about are the ones that can be exploited to condemn the police, and more importantly, the black lives they themselves don’t get paid to cut short in the womb.
