Do You Buy It? Yet Another Study ‘Just Happens’ To Confirm The Mask-Conformity Assumptions

We’ve all heard this song before, haven’t we? Some social issue or another that breaks along partisan lines just happens to produce a study that ‘proves’ the Left is right and the Right are idiots?

Let’s have a look at the claim before we measure it against the track records of such similar claims that touch on issues with an inherently political element to them.

Although recommendations sounds simple to follow, many Americans ignored the warnings and cases spiked across the nation.

Recently a team from the University of California set out to understand why some individuals chose to dismiss wearing a mask or social distancing and some easily complied.

The team found those with higher working capacity have an increased awareness of benefits and cost of social distancing and wearing a mask.

This part of the memory is involved in decision-making, reasoning and how one behaves, and it holds information for just a few seconds.

The amount of information working memory can hold briefly is predictive of many mental abilities such as intelligence, comprehension, and learning.

Weiwei Zhang, an associate professor of psychology at the University of California, Riverside, said: ‘The higher the working memory capacity, the more likely that social distancing behaviors will follow.’–DailyMail

It’s another ‘Dumb Republican’ trope. What a shock.

Smarter people have no trouble at all with performing as perfect lemmings. What’s wrong with these Red-State Americans?

‘This suggests policy makers will need to consider individuals’ general cognitive abilities when promoting compliance behaviors such as wearing a mask or engaging in physical distancing.’

Zhang and his colleagues recommend media materials for promoting norm compliance behaviors to avoid information overload.

‘The message in such materials should be succinct, concise, and brief,’ Zhang said. ‘Make the decision process easy for people.’ —DailyMail

Oh, I see. The only possible explanation for noncompliance is that we’re ‘simple’?

So how does this study explain all those Democrats like Pelosi who objected to Trump’s Chinese Travel restrictions and made a show of how woke they are. DeBlasio even told people to keep going to movie theatres. Not to mention Mardi Gras.

Could there possibly be another explanation?

Like, perhaps, medical ‘authorities’ directly contradicting their own advice?

How about Fauci saying attending Church or Synagogue is a bad idea, but that anonymous Tinder hookup is A-OK?

A rather long report, citing various studies on the topic of protective devices predating (and bypassing the political pressures of) the current heath crisis sheds light on just how (in)effective masks really are.

Filtering Capacity: The filters in masks do not act as sieves by trapping particles greater than a specific size while allowing smaller particles to pass through. 18 Instead the dynamics of aerosolized particles and their molecular attraction to filter fibres are such that at a certain range of sizes both large and small particles will penetrate through a face mask. 18 Accordingly, it should be no surprise that a study of eight brands of face masks found that they did not filter out 20-100% of particles varying in size from 0.1 to 4.0 microns. 21 Another investigation showed penetration ranges from 5-100% when masks were challenged with relatively large 1.0 micron particles. 29 A further study found that masks were incapable of filtering out 80-85% of particles varying in size from 0.3 to 2.0 microns. 30 A 2008 investigation identified the poor filtering performance of dental masks. —OralHealthGroup

So, however much our ‘betters’ strut their allegedly superior intellects, what this whole exercise boils down to is some elaborate performance art for placebo effects.

And you wonder why those of us who value our freedoms tell all the ‘experts’ to pound sand?

Let’s take a peek at some past examples of Leftist scientists and their dizzying intellects.

Track Record of Partisan Studies:

Remind me: exactly how many lives did the Left’s LAST ‘own the conservatives’ study cost us? You know, the one that ‘debunked’ the usefulness of a drug whose promising results from the freaking LANCET Journal of Medicine Trump happened to speak hopefully about? Remember that anti-malarial that has a track record spanning decades of safe use?

HCQ was cheap, and it was safe, and it must absolutely be verboten as a treatment, while the body count rose higher and higher.

It was only a couple of months later that *oops*! The study that made us all think HCQ was dangerous was completely bulls**t.

In fact, that drug, when administered, cut fatalities in half.

Whoops. Our bad. Sorry about your dead grandmother.

We’ve seen these studies every so often mocking religious folks for their beliefs — despite the very demonstrable advantages those beliefs give them for things like stress, health, longevity, and overall happiness.

We’ve seen studies comparing Democrat and Republican threat response. Not surprisingly, their interpretation of the data favored Democrats.

Peer-reviewed research shows that conservatives are generally more sensitive to threat. While this threat-bias can distort reality, fuel irrational fears, and make one more vulnerable to fear-mongering politicians, it could also promote hypervigilance, perhaps making one better prepared to handle an immediate threat. — PsycologyToday

The obvious counter-claim here is that Republicans think in terms of cause-and-effect, whereas Democrats do not. That would certainly explain why they keep trying to resurrect the same damned failed systems that have failed in Venezuela, Cuba, USSR, and so many other places, certain that ‘this time’ their plan will work.

The same people that are demonizing and gutting the police force while looking for scapegoats as to why crime is suddenly skyrocketing. Or confused as to why decades of their failed policies keep running cities into the ground.

But, sure, WE are the dumb ones.

If Masculinity Is ‘Toxic’, Call Jesus Radioactive

Much of the Left loathes masculinity and they love to paint Jesus as a non-offensive bearded woman who endorses their agenda. This book blows that nonsense all to hell. From the stonking laptop of bestselling author, Doug Giles, comes a new book that focuses on Jesus’ overt masculine traits like no other books have heretofore. It’s informative, bold, hilarious, and scary. Giles has concluded, after many years of scouring the scripture that, If Masculinity Is ‘Toxic’, Call Jesus Radioactive.
