Did you know that NYC has hundreds of billionaires? Of course it does. The Big Apple is one of the finest financial engines driving the world. But for ‘eat the rich’ peeps, that’s a problem.
Rather than take an interest in what blueprint for success has been followed and repeated by one entrepreneur after another, the socialist left envies them their success and looks for every way they can to cut them down.
The assumption is that they came upon their wealth illicitly. That they exploited other people for unjust gain.
You notice how none of these same people wonder how a lifelong ‘public servant’ like Bernie Sanders can own three homes and be a Millionaire after decrying ‘Millionaires and Billionaires’ for so very long. Or how people like the Obamas and Clintons can come from relative financial obscurity to having tens or hundreds of millions of dollars upon leaving office for… what, exactly?
It doesn’t even matter that many of these Billionaires are ‘woke’ and understand the economic advantage of cozying up to the Left side of government who isn’t averse to favor-trading that could advantage themselves and hurt their rivals. There is also the consideration of that yummy, yummy, communist coin to Hoover up in China. So political scruples aren’t really that profitable in today’s global markets.
But New York billionaires are about to learn the meaning of Churchill’s ‘appeasers’ quote:
‘An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile—hoping it will eat him last.’

She sees people who adapted their business plans to a changing online-centered market and assumes that they don’t have a right to those earnings.
Forget that earnings at that level generally come from creating actual jobs, whereas her party’s sugar-daddy Soros has precisely ZERO scruples against deliberately tanking an entire nation’s economy (Thailand‘s for one example) so that he could pad HIS wallet and extend HIS political power base.
These socialists literally believe the government has a RIGHT to all the money someone earns and it is merely governmental benevolence that lets some of that money go to the person or company that earned it.
“We need to ask Gov. Cuomo to tax the people who are benefiting from this pandemic in order to support the working families who are facing housing insecurity, food insecurity and more,” Ocasio-Cortez, who represents predominantly low-income swaths of Queens and the Bronx, said in a campaign-like video released by Make the Road NY, a progressive advocacy group.
The Make the Road video also features Jumaane Williams, the city’s public advocate, State Sen. Jessica Ramos and a number of other local pols pushing for a billionaires’ tax in New York.
At the forefront of the left-wing campaign is a bill introduced by Ramos that would change the law in such a way that the state’s 118 billionaires would have to pay income tax on their unrealized capital gains. Currently, such investment gains are tax exempt.
Under Ramos’ bill, the cash raked in from New York’s billionaires would establish a “worker bailout fund,” from which people who don’t qualify for federal unemployment benefits can get as much as $3,300 per month if they have lost their jobs or otherwise suffered financially during the pandemic. The bill is set to be considered when the State Legislature returns next week. – MSN
