‘Shoot To Kill’: Famous Doctor Offered Strong Advice For How Gov. Abbott Should Handle Rioters
This guy isn't playing around. If these Marxist agitators come around starting trouble, he wants the problem dealt with... for good.
You know Dr. Steve Hotze. He's the non-nonsense Texan doctor that puts his constitutional freedoms ahead of party politics.
We can all know that is true because we've been tracking Hotze's campaign slamming the unconstitutional overreach of Gov. Abbott's Wuhan China Coronavirus response which has even included a lawsuit.
And he's been leading protests, too.
He's kind of a 'puts his money where his mouth is' kind of a guy who looks at any threat which may violate his Constitutional rights and freedoms with a Spartan's molon labe seriousness.
So when the burn and loot it crowd started threatening to rise up in his own state, he wasn't playing around.
A story came out about a voice mail left at the Governor's office:
In the days after George Floyd's death in police custody in Minneapolis last month, as massive protests against police brutality spread across Texas and other states, conservative power broker Steve Hotze of Houston called Gov. Greg Abbott's chief of staff to pass along a message.
"I want you to give a message to the governor," Hotze told Abbott's chief of staff, Luis Saenz, in a voicemail. "I want to make sure that he has National Guard down here and they have the order to shoot to kill if any of these son-of-a-bitch people start rioting like they have in Dallas, start tearing down businesses — shoot to kill the son of a bitches. That’s the only way you restore order. Kill ‘em. Thank you."
The voicemail, which The Texas Tribune obtained Friday via a public information request, came on the weekend of June 6, several days after Abbott activated the Texas National Guard as some of the protests became violent. It is unclear whether Saenz responded, and Abbott's office declined to comment on the voicemail. -- TexasTribune
The Governor did not comment on it, but the doctor sure did.
A Hotze spokesperson said he was not immediately available for comment. However, several hours after the publication of this story, Hotze shared it on his personal Facebook page and another Facebook page affiliated with him.
"It’s not about race but has everything to do with the future of America — the freest and most progressive country in the world," Hotze wrote on the second Facebook page. "It’s about those who burn homes and businesses, including those owned by African-Americans, and attack law enforcement. Enough is enough." -- TexasTribune
Does that seem harsh to you? Maybe.
But consider this: There are a number of specific criminal actions for which lethal force is a justified response. Scan the following list, (particularly 2A) with the riots and lootings we've seen in other cities in mind.
This references Texas Penal Code § 9.42. Deadly Force to Protect Property
A person is justified in using deadly force against another to protect land or tangible, movable property:
(1) if he would be justified in using force against the other under Section 9.41 ; and
(2) when and to the degree he reasonably believes the deadly force is immediately necessary:
(A) to prevent the other's imminent commission of arson, burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, theft during the nighttime, or criminal mischief during the nighttime; or
(B) to prevent the other who is fleeing immediately after committing burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, or theft during the nighttime from escaping with the property; and
(3) he reasonably believes that:
(A) the land or property cannot be protected or recovered by any other means; or
(B) the use of force other than deadly force to protect or recover the land or property would expose the actor or another to a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury.
Would such a response have been POLITICALLY unpopular? Absolutely. And tensions may have gotten worse before they got better.
But would the law have been on their side, if they had done so?
Look at the list again.
As we should already have known by his COVID responses, Hotze is not willing to sacrifice a few hardworking American businesses to the devouring flames of Marxist agitators just to make the politically expedient response to a crisis.
And if you think HE is politically incorrect, just wait until you hear what Jesus was really like when you strip away all the pastel colors our cruddy culture has been painting him over with through the years...
