Young Mother, 24, Shot Dead For Saying ‘All Lives Matter’ To BLM Protesters

How I wish this headline were just talking about some snarky parody piece by The Onion or Babylon Bee. Sadly, it is not. A real person was murdered. Over petty political posturing.

As you read this article, consider carefully how you would answer the following question:

Is what happened to this unfortunate woman different, in any meaningful way, than lynchings were back in the day?

Leaving aside the difference in method of execution, compare the similarities. Like the fact that aggressors in each instance personally disliked something about the victim, and that each victim paid for that trivial ‘offense’ with their lies. No trial. No judge. No jury. Just an execution.

Keep THAT question in the back of your mind as you read further:

Do the ‘Mainstream Media’ folks not see a cause-and-effect relationship between an endless stream of overhyped and exaggerated reporting of racial tensions and ‘systemic racism’ and the violent acts of people who, having given up on a supposedly irredeemable system, taking ‘justice’ into their own hands.

A 24-year-old mom lies dead now. And for what? For being on the wrong frickin’ side of a political disagreement about whose lives matter?

How dare someone claim that all lives matter!

Indiana nurse Jessica Doty Whitaker, 24, was walking with her partner Jose Ramirez and two friends at 3am on July 5 when they came across four men and a woman.

A racially-charged argument ensued leading Ramirez and another man to pull out their firearms – minutes later, Doty Whitaker was gunned down after saying “all lives matter.”

… The 24-year-old mom, who is survived by her three-year-old son Greyson, worked at Comfort Care Home Healthcare before she was killed.

Her obituary stated that she enjoyed “being outdoors, and playing games and super heroes with Greyson.”

…WTHR reported that she died after she, Ramirez and their friends clashed over language with Black Lives Matter supporters over the holiday weekend.

“I was actually holding her when it happened,” Ramirez said. “She just fell. I turned around, and I opened fire too. But that’s just a reaction. I didn’t see nobody. Hopefully, it didn’t hit nobody.”

…“She shouldn’t have lost her life,” Ramirez added. “She’s got a three-year-old son she loved dearly.”

He said telling Greyson that he’ll never see his mom again has been the hardest part for the family.

“It’s hard to tell him his mom is in heaven and if you want to talk to her you have to look up and say, ‘I love you mom,’” said Ramirez. —Sun

This might be a good time to point out that her fiance’s name was ‘Ramirez’.

If the victim were a so-called ‘white supremacist’ that would be an awfully strange choice for someone to spend the rest of her life with, don’t you think?

Now that you’ve had time to think about it, Clash reader, do you have an easy answer for how — apart from the means of execution — the murder of Jessica Doty Whitaker in cold blood was meaningfully different from when a group of people would overpower someone and lynch him because of his ethnicity, or for some imagined infraction of not ‘knowing his place’ in society?

Because THIS writer does NOT have a ready answer to that question.
