Democrats Peddling Fear

“Fear is an insidious and deadly thing. It can warp judgment, freeze reflexes, breed mistakes. Worse, it’s contagious.” These insightful words were said by Hollywood legend, actor Jimmy Stewart.  Fear cannot drive a person or nation to greatness. The apostle Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

Fear, though, seems to be the driver for the Democrats as the 2020 campaign officially kicks off. At the virtual Democratic National Convention, former first lady Michelle Obama wowed the liberal press with her recorded speech.

Chris Cillizza of CNN called it “powerful” opining that it “hit at the core of what I believe is the most glaring personality flaw in President Donald Trump: A complete lack of empathy.”  Jon Karl, not wanting to be outdone in the “kissing up” department, tweeted, “And there you have the best speech ever given at a virtual convention … and I doubt it will be topped.”

Truth, as it always seems to do, eludes left-wing pundits posing as reporters. Her speech was a dark, dismal diatribe that disingenuously attacked the character of President Trump and castigated Americans for electing him in 2016.

She lied about children being torn “from their families and thrown into cages.” She knows the truth. Those “cages” were built and used during her husband and Biden’s administration. Even the AP called out this lie.

She attacked those who don’t buy into the “wearing a mask” concept and insinuated that Trump and his supporters lack empathy.

There’s a lot of arrogant condescension in her words and, to be honest, I’m not sure I am, nor are most Americans, eager to lectured about empathy by those who don’t care about regular people with regular jobs. Someone whose vacation home costs $11.25 million might want to pull back a bit on “empathy” demands.

As dripping with arrogance as that part of her speech was, the most troubling part came later. The former first lady painted an ugly picture of America. She ran down a list of what she believes to be terrible things about our country.

For Michelle Obama, the last four years have been a nightmare. She’s claimed to be suffering from a “low-grade depression” due to the Trump Administration.

Her speech concluded that under President Trump “this is the America that is on display for the next generation. A nation that’s underperforming not simply on matters of policy but on matters of character. And that’s not just disappointing; it’s downright infuriating.”

Again, she can’t hide her condescending, elitist attitude. She then gets to her fearmongering. “So, if you take one thing from my words tonight, it is this: if you think things cannot possibly get worse, trust me, they can; and they will if we don’t make a change in this election.”

For Michelle Obama, the Democrats, and the entire Left-wing, this country is not a great country. It is not a land of opportunity. It does not matter that unemployment among African Americans, women, and Hispanics was lower than it had ever been before during the Trump economy. It does not matter to them that more people had more money than they’d had during the Obama administration. What matters is that they get back into power. They do not care about the people or who suffers along the way.

When Michelle Obama or any other Democrat speaks of empathy, they don’t mean it. They did not mention one time, on the first night of their virtual convention, the riots across several American cities in which many were killed.

Obama did not demonstrate an ounce of empathy to law enforcement officers who have to deal daily with dangerous and deadly situations.

Obama didn’t really make a positive case for Joe Biden and didn’t mention Kamala Harris at all. She simply went on the attack. I guess that’s called “going high.” Clearly, she is not proud of America now.

By supporting Biden, Obama and the other Democrats are wanting more riots and less police. They want more racial tension and less coming together. They want more unemployment and less money in our pockets. They support more lockdowns and fewer kids in school. They want more masks and less freedom. Most of all, they want more fear.

Fear will not bring us back from the Chinese virus and the economic challenges that lie ahead. Now more than ever, it is time to Make America Great Again.
