News Clash

Dear CNN: Democrat Congressional Candidate Posts Tweet Calling To Stomp On The Necks Of Republicans–Is THAT News?

When this guy went low, he was already in the sub-basement and then started digging.

Moe Davis was an Air Force Colonel who was a military lawyer named chief prosecutor against the al Quaeda terrorists held at Gitmo, and he’s now the Democratic candidate for North Carolina’s 11th District.

The thing is, Davis has a bit of a history of being…well, obnoxious. An MSN News article profiling Davis says that he and the lawyer assigned by the American Bar Association to oversee the tribunals didn’t get off on the right foot. The lawyer, Neal Sonnett, opposed to “Davis publicly comparing the prisoners to vampires whom he would ‘drag into the sunlight where they would melt.'”

While we can all agree that al Quaeda terrorists are awful excuses for human beings, perhaps we can also agree that having a military prosecutor to likening them to vampires could potentially be a bad look.

It seems that Davis has learned zero things since then.

Last month, Davis pushed a pretty insane conspiracy theory that his Republican opponent, Madison Cawthorn, was a neo-Nazi.

He posted the “evidence” on Twitter.

Davis wrote, “My #NC11 opponent… Named his biz SPQR; Sports a Molon Labe emblem; Poses with a Betsy Ross flag; Hitler’s vacay retreat was on his bucket list; He follows 88 on Twitter. Fool you twice & it’s shame on you. Fool you 5 times & you’re a fool. America deserves better!”

I’m sorry…what?!

These are apparently five signs of white nationalism because we all know that Betsy Ross was a hardcore hater, right?

The 88 thing is apparently a reference to the 8th letter of the alphabet repeated as code for “Heil Hitler” according to the Anti-Defamation League.

Uh…ok. Sure.

Somebody had better tell sports teams to cancel all of the #88 jerseys.

Davis seems like an absolute nutter.

Today, Davis doubled-down on the crazy.

How do you go lower than calling your opponent a white supremacist because he follows 88 people on Twitter? Well, you call for violence against all Republicans.

He tweeted, “Screw they go low, we go high bullsh*t. When @NCGOP extremists go low, we stomp their scrawny pasty necks with our heels and once you hear the sound of a crisp snap you grind your heel hard and twist it slowly side to side for good measure. He needs to know who whupped his ass.”

Charming fellow, that Davis!

We know that CNN’s Brian Stelter loves reporting on tweets, so perhaps he can dedicate a segment of his show so that he can inform his lone viewer of this outrageous incident on a social media platform.

This attack is especially egregious because Moe Davis is running against Madison Cawthorn, a young man who was disabled when he was in a car accident when he was 18.

You might remember Cawthorn from the RNC:

That was such an amazing moment.

Conservative journalist, David Reaboi, called it from the get-go. He tweeted that if “Cawthorn said it, every GOP politician in the country would be asked about it.”

He’s not wrong.

The Media(D) has blinders of their own making. They will tell you that it’s Republicans that are “dark” and “divisive” but we’ve seen that it’s the Democrats and their supporters that are the violent ones–both calling for it from their ivory towers and committing it in the streets.

Davis is a typical example of the “party of unity” candidates.

Both tweets by Davis are still up. No fact-check. No censorship.

This is what we’re dealing with, folks.
