Implicit Bias—The New Password Of Identity Politics

Identity politics has given rise to catastrophic social division that is busy destroying the legacy of Martin Luther King and the Civil Rights Movement. The Left wants people to be judged based on the color of their skin, not by the quality of their character or the fruits of their labor. Where identity politics prevails, you get hired and promoted because of your race and gender and for no other reason. To sell identity politics to the public, a new password has been introduced into the vernacular: implicit bias.

Implicit bias refers to omnipresent racist attitudes that exist on the level of the unconscious, beyond our conscious awareness or intentional control. “Despite our best intentions and without our awareness,” according to vox.com, “racial stereotypes and assumptions creep into our minds and affect our actions. That’s why implicit racial bias has been called ‘the new diversity paradigm’—one that recognizes the role that bias plays in the day-to-day functioning of all human beings.”

Whether you realize it or not, if you are white you are automatically guilty of racism because of your skin color. If you doubt that you are a racist, it is proof you are a racist. That is the thesis of the implicit bias handbook, known as White Fragility. “A book about racism,” says Tucker Carlson, “that is far more aggressively racist than anything Louis Farrakhan has ever written. If you are white, your DNA makes you evil.” As one anonymous critic wrote, this insidious work is a “book for those that need more of a reason to feel bad about themselves.” You will be happy to know that schools and companies are ordering it by the boatload. It is required reading for young people who cannot defend themselves and adults who are afraid of losing their jobs.

Implicit bias forms the basis for Critical Race Theory, which is the view that the US is inherently racist, that minorities and women are oppressed by whites and especially by white men, and that white people achieve their economic and political objectives at the expense of people of color. CRT argues that racism is present in every aspect of life; that all alternative theories are racist; and that anyone who disagrees is racist (even if they are black). It rejects science and Western Civilization as products of white racism.

Implicit bias proves the existence of systemic racism, even though respected black figures such as Thomas Sowell, Shelby Steele, Bob Woodson, and Larry Elder are unanimous in their agreement that the oppression of blacks is a thing of the past. Rather than exhibiting systemic racism, white Americans have bent over backwards to make life better for blacks. You can’t have affirmative action AND systemic racism. Don’t tell the adherents of CRT.

There is no acceptable defense for implicit bias. If you are white, you have it. “It’s a disease borne from the hateful halls of leftwing academia,” says Fox’s Greg Gutfeld. “Critical Race Theory undermines the positive core beliefs of America by redefining the nation as an engine of oppression. What you’re seeing on America’s city streets are its results. Starting on campus, then leaking into unconscious bias training at work—culminating in infantile rioters who use this ideology to justify violence. Do you wonder why these clones accost people at restaurants? They’ve been brainwashed to think you’re ‘unconsciously racist’ and they’re going to wake you up. ‘Unconsciously racist’ means even when you say you aren’t racist, the response is, ‘Well, you just aren’t conscious of it.’”

Government agencies and corporate training departments have jumped on board. The Treasury Department held a training session telling employees that “virtually all white people contribute to racism.” Sandia National Labs—which produces our nuclear arsenal—held a three-day reeducation camp for white males, teaching them how to deconstruct their “white male culture” and forcing them to write letters of apology to women and people of color. The Department of Homeland Security hosted a training on “microaggressions, microinequities, and microassaults” where white employees were told that they had been “socialized into oppressor roles.” Even the FBI’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion is hosting weekly Intersectionality Workshops. “Virtually every significant corporation, academic institution, and public employer has these types of training,” says Peter Kirsanow of the US Commission on Civil Rights. “This is maybe the most pernicious ideology we’ve ever seen in the US.”

The City of Seattle is holding a segregated training session for white city employees that will train them to “undo their whiteness” and affirm their “complicity in racism.” Can you imagine if Seattle required all black employees to undo their blackness? Doing it to white employees is perfectly acceptable. Tucker Carlson has reported that schools across the country are brainwashing adolescent children to confess that they are flawed if they happen to be white. If this is not a racial inquisition, what is? Scott Greer in No Campus for White Men has exposed similar racial indoctrination training forced by many colleges on white freshmen. Greer describes these programs as “bordering on an outright hatred for white people, especially white men.”

The New York Post exposed the Bank Street School, an elite private school in Manhattan where they are teaching white students as young as six that “they’re born racist and should feel guilty about benefiting from white privilege.” White parents have complained about how their children are indoctrinated into thinking that systemic racism still exists, that they are part of the problem, and that “any success they achieve is unearned.” Parents are upset that the school “deliberately instills in white children a strong sense of guilt about their race.” A six-year-old came home in tears, saying, “I’m a bad person.”

To his credit, President Trump has directed government agencies to purge CRT from federal employee training. This means white government employees will no longer be subjected to a racial inquisition where they are forced to confess that all white people contribute to racism. “The divisive, false, and demeaning propaganda of the critical race theory movement,” said Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought, “is contrary to all we stand for as Americans and should have no place in the federal government.” Those who demand racial indoctrination “operate on their own unconscious racism: they assume all white people are one way,” said Greg Gutfeld. “Trump is right to expel this toxin from the workplace.”
