Trump To Counter Anti-American 1619 Propaganda With Pro-American Curriculum

The problem with the 1619 project isn’t that it tells the history that we are too embarrassed to discuss. It tells a history that never actually happened.

Around the time the bottom was falling out of the Russian Collusion narrative, the New York Times held a meeting where they discussed their strategy for attacking Trump for the coming two years.

According to the meeting, leaked by a website on the Left, the new NYTimes narrative was going to be ‘Trump is racist’. They would be looking for ways to frame their future stories (for the next two years) in a way to underscore that point.

It sure looks like they’ve made good on that promise since then, doesn’t it?

Around that same time, they launched a series of essays the referred to as the ‘1619 Project’. They just happened to carry the message that everything about traditional US history was inherently racist. (Are you seeing a developing theme?)

Two years later, we are seeing American cities burning with the premise for the riots being you guessed it, ‘America is Racist’.

That ahistorical 1619 Project, which has been panned by historians on the Left and the Right has been adopted by the school system. The biggest problem with that project is the dangerous ideological virus at the very heart of the program.

Here is Trump’s speech denouncing the failures of the Critical Race theory while praising the virtues on which our nation was founded.

A taste of the points he was making:

Trump said Democrats and the Times’ “1619 Project” promote an inaccurate version of US history by over-emphasizing race and the legacy of slavery.

“I will soon sign an executive order establishing a national commission to promote patriotic education. It will be called the ‘1776 Commission’,” Trump said in 17-minute speech at the National Archives marking the anniversary of the Constitution’s signing.

The commission “will encourage our educators to teach your children about the miracle of American history and make plans to honor the 250th anniversary of our founding” in 2026, Trump said.

…“The left has warped, distorted and defiled the American story with deceptions, falsehoods and lies. There’s no better example than the New York Times’ totally discredited 1619 Project.”

The 1619 Project, he said, “rewrites American history to teach our children that we were founded on the principle of oppression, not freedom. Nothing could be further from the truth. America’s founding set in motion the unstoppable chain of events that abolished slavery, secured civil rights, defeated communism and fascism and built the most fair, equal and prosperous nation in human history.”

Trump said that some popular assessments of US history “bear a striking resemblance to the anti-American propaganda of our adversaries.”

“Students in our universities are inundated with critical race theory. This is a Marxist doctrine holding that America is a wicked and racist nation, that even young children are complicit in oppression, and that our entire society must be radically transformed,” Trump said. — NYPost

The ahistorical virus 1619 has been pushing is known as ‘Critical Race Theory’, a form of Marxism that has swapped out the violent conflict it sets up between the oppressive business owners and the oppressed working class.

Trump has already signed an Executive order forbidding any training involving the indoctrination of Critical Race Theory within the context of the Federal Government. Now he wants to reinstate the kind of learning that gives a broad and deep understanding and appreciation of the Constitutional foundations that made us the nation we are.

The free country whose flag nations like Hong Kong wave as a middle finger to the tyrants in their own midst.

The great nation whose freedoms and laws led to growth unmatched anywhere else in the world. Where a mere colony on the wrong side of the planet became the global leader in economy, and scientific discoveries like communications, transportation, medicine, and technology.

The nation whose contributions to the world haven’t just changed the planet, but have lifted people around the world out of poverty to a degree that was never before thought possible.

The nation who helped lead the world in social innovations like women’s suffrage and the ending of the slave trade.

Who we are is deeply rooted in our founding documents and the faith of our Founders… NOT in their flaws, as the Critical Race theorists would claim.

But don’t take our word for it. Here are the words of no less than Fredrick Douglass, in the midst of his famous 4th Of July address in which he launched the harshest of rebukes on anyone at all sympathetic or silent in the face of the scourge of slavery, took the time to say the following:

Fellow-citizens! there is no matter in respect to which, the people of the North have allowed themselves to be so ruinously imposed upon, as that of the pro-slavery character of the Constitution. In that instrument I hold there is neither warrant, license, nor sanction of the hateful thing; but, interpreted as it ought to be interpreted, the Constitution is a GLORIOUS LIBERTY DOCUMENT. Read its preamble, consider its purposes. Is slavery among them? Is it at the gateway? or is it in the temple? It is neither. While I do not intend to argue this question on the present occasion, let me ask, if it be not somewhat singular that, if the Constitution were intended to be, by its framers and adopters, a slave-holding instrument, why neither slavery, slaveholding, nor slave can anywhere be found in it. What would be thought of an instrument, drawn up, legally drawn up, for the purpose of entitling the city of Rochester to a track of land, in which no mention of land was made? Now, there are certain rules of interpretation, for the proper understanding of all legal instruments. These rules are well established. They are plain, common-sense rules, such as you and I, and all of us, can understand and apply, without having passed years in the study of law. I scout the idea that the question of the constitutionality or unconstitutionality of slavery is not a question for the people. I hold that every American citizen has a right to form an opinion of the constitution, and to propagate that opinion, and to use all honorable means to make his opinion the prevailing one. Without this right, the liberty of an American citizen would be as insecure as that of a Frenchman. Ex-Vice-President Dallas tells us that the Constitution is an object to which no American mind can be too attentive, and no American heart too devoted. He further says, the Constitution, in its words, is plain and intelligible, and is meant for the home-bred, unsophisticated understandings of our fellow-citizens. Senator Berrien tell us that the Constitution is the fundamental law, that which controls all others. The charter of our liberties, which every citizen has a personal interest in understanding thoroughly. The testimony of Senator Breese, Lewis Cass, and many others that might be named, who are everywhere esteemed as sound lawyers, so regard the constitution. I take it, therefore, that it is not presumption in a private citizen to form an opinion of that instrument.

Now, take the Constitution according to its plain reading, and I defy the presentation of a single pro-slavery clause in it. On the other hand it will be found to contain principles and purposes, entirely hostile to the existence of slavery.

…While drawing encouragement from the Declaration of Independence, the great principles it contains, and the genius of American Institutions, my spirit is also cheered by the obvious tendencies of the age. Nations do not now stand in the same relation to each other that they did ages ago.

Frederick Douglass himself blew the core assertion behind the 1619 Project straight to hell. He called it a Glorious Liberty Document.

Traditional Marxism aggravates the tensions between the financial conflicts and resentment until they would eventually lead to a revolution replacing the existing government with a Communist one.

Critical Race Theory leverages racial grievances in exactly the same way that traditional Marxists leveraged economic ones.

Should that surprise us? BLM organizers are on record as being ‘Trained Marxists’.
