Trump’s Path To Victory In November

Polls and pundits are starting to voice doom and gloom for the electoral chances of President Trump. He’s down in the polls, pundits ridicule him daily, and a former First Lady has attacked him as a racist. It seems that the really smart people have concluded that Trump is finished. He’s done. Biden and Harris can plan the party.

You’ll have to pardon me, though, for chuckling. You see, we’ve heard this before. 2016 was supposed to be a landslide. Rachel Maddow, of MSNBC, said on her October 17, 2016 show, “This election is three weeks from over. And we`re coming to a point if you`re Hillary Clinton, you`re honestly starting to think about not just whether you will win, but how big your win will be.”

We all know what happened. The American people spoke. Much to the surprise of media and political elites, Hillary Clinton not only did not win big, but she didn’t win at all.

The American people are about four weeks away from speaking again. The elites are telling us it’s over. Trump is finished. Here’s why I think they’re wrong.

Evangelical Christians were a big part of why Donald Trump won the presidency in 2016. Eight-in-ten self-identified white, born-again/evangelical Christians say they voted for Trump, while just 16% voted for Clinton. Trump’s 65-percentage-point margin of victory among voters in this group matched or exceeded the victory margins of George W. Bush in 2004, John McCain in 2008, and Mitt Romney in 2012.

Evangelical Christians are going to vote in droves for President Trump in November. I’m predicting he’ll get higher than the 80% he netted four years ago. Why?  Two reasons.

First, abortion is on the ballot again. The nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court is huge. My hunch is the Democrats will attack her. Evangelicals are tired of being attacked by cultural elitists who don’t understand them and look down on them. Biden, for his part, has pledged to make Roe v. Wade “the law of the land” if he’s elected president.

Second, religious liberty is on the ballot. President Trump has done more for religious liberty than nearly any other president. During his first year in office, President Trump signed an Executive Order upholding religious liberty and the right to engage in religious speech.

President Trump also signed an Executive Order recognizing the essential contributions of faith-based organizations and establishing the Faith and Opportunity Initiative. This Executive Order requires executive agencies to “vigorously enforce Federal law’s robust protections for religious freedom… to the greatest extent practicable and to the extent permitted by law.”

Respect for Law Enforcement and Safety is another big reason Trump will surprise the elites in a month. This is a winning issue for Trump. Police unions across the country are endorsing the president, while Biden finds little to no support among law enforcement.

I think this is going to be huge. Regular people are tired of seeing violence in the streets of their cities and neighborhoods. Elites can opine about how riots are peaceful protests but notice that when the “protest” comes to their neighborhood, it’s something different.

Regular people are also tired of the attacks against police officers. Biden and Harris refuse to stand up for them or defend them. The day will come, in November, when police officers and those who love and believe in them, will stand against Biden-Harris.

Finally, people are tired of lockdowns. We all get that the COVID-19 is real and dangerous. However, as President Trump said, we refuse to let COVID-19 define our lives. It is time to open the country. We must do so in a sensible way, but it is time. Trump gets that and we, the regular people, get it, too.

Biden’s plan?  He’s pushing for what he calls “a national mask mandate.” His idea is to require people to wear a mask on federal property and bully governors and mayors to require the same.  My hunch is that the regular people will tell Joe, Kamala, and the whole elite establishment what they can do with the mask come November 3rd.

Trump wants America and Americans to succeed and do well. His is a voice of optimism, hope, and encouragement.  Biden’s masked and muted voice is one of fear, hesitation, and limits. The desire to be free will be on the ballot in November. I believe Americans will vote for freedom.

So, what will November 3rd look like? Well, first we’ll need to recognize that the winner will not be declared, especially if Trump is leading. It will take a few days for the Democrats and the elites to try to find enough mail-in votes to cheat Trump and those who support him. I’m guessing, though, that won’t be the big issue.

My hunch is Trump will take what he won last time and add Minnesota and Nevada. I pray for more than that. I hope it is a landslide. For now, to hear “Trump wins Re-election,” by whatever margin, will be music to my ears.
