WATCH: CNN’s Jake Tapper And Dr. Sanjay Gupta FINALLY Give President Trump Credit For Operation Warp Speed

They’re free to do it now because it won’t influence anyone’s vote.

Yes, I’m cynical. You should be, too.

This is CNN, after all.

I have joked privately that Trump could cure cancer and he’d still be criticized for not curing heart disease.

The man essentially unshackled researchers to cure a deadly version of the common cold — which is a coronavirus after all — and he was still criticized.

With the news of two incredibly promising vaccines with an efficacy rate of 90-plus percent, Jake Tapper and Dr. Sanjay Gupta finally admitted that Operation Warp Speed was a success. They admitted that the cutting of red tape to allow drug companies to fast-track a vaccine was successful and that President Trump deserves some credit for that.

President Trump hasn’t been given much credit for anything that he’s done in 4 years, so he retweeted the compliment.

TAPPER: This is an unmitigated success and we should acknowledge that. The Moderna vaccine was done with funds from Operation Warp Speed, and the Pfizer one has funding when it comes to the distribution and manufacture and I just think it’s important that people working so hard — Moncef Slaoui and the others — get credit for this and President Trump was the one who okayed it.

GUPTA: Yeah. No doubt. I mean, the pace of medical innovation has been forever changed. I mean, three months. January 11th is when they got the sequence of this virus. By March 16th — two months later — shots were going into arms as part of these clinical trials. I couldn’t believe it when I saw that pace. It typically takes, you know, years to really get these vaccines approved. It’ll be done within a year, so that is worth celebrating and now we have some early data to be very optimistic about.

TAPPER: So all of the scientists, everyone behind this, all the way up to President Trump and Vice President Pence, congratulations on this great accomplishment. We’re obviously waiting for more news and for the vaccine to be available.

Nice of them to finally acknowledge that President Trump did something right. I wonder if the words burned their lips as they spoke them.

These two are no fans of Trump and have made that clear on-air.

Dr. Gupta had said in September that “80 to 90 percent of deaths could have been prevented” if President Trump had acted earlier according to a “source” that told him that the President acted against advice he was given in February.

In October, Fake Tapper (not a typo) said that the President is a serial liar and pushes “deranged conspiracy theories” while talking to a former Big Tech executive who wanted the President censored from Twitter until after the election. Meanwhile, Jakey is a Russian Collusion conspiracy theorist, pushed the Kavanaugh smears, slandered General Flynn, and regularly let Adam Schiff spout his New Red Scare nonsense that would make Joe McCarthy blush.

Perhaps these two are just the normal CNN clowns dancing to the tune that their boss Jeff Zucker plays, or maybe they really believe all of the things that they’re saying because they’re avowed leftists who live and work in a leftist bubble.

On second thought, it’s probably both.
