Ilhan Omar was introducing a Somali musician at a Minneapolis performance. What could possibly go wrong? For starters, she could find out what they REALLY think of her.
There was a concert in Minneapolis on Saturday night. It was kind of a big deal. Or at least that’s what the billing makes it seem like. He’s big enough that he’s doing a world tour, anyway.
So he makes this stop in Minnesota where his concert celebrating Somalia Independence Day (July 1) is introduced by a Somali-born elected official from the area, Ilhan Omar.
If you’re her chief of staff, you’d see this as a PR dream: a little free press while hanging with a few thousand of your closest friends, right? It might have looked good on paper. But once she got there, it was another story.
Ilhan got a really rough ride from this crowd, complete with boos, heckling and a number of profanities.
Ilhan Omar got booed onstage at a concert featuring Somali singer Soldaan Seraar in Minnesota last night.
People in the crowd chanted "Get out!" & shouted "Get the f*ck out of here!". pic.twitter.com/sggii7h6sO— Leftism (@LeftismForU) July 3, 2022
She kept trying to shush the crowd, laughing awkwardly as the booing dragged on for more than 2 full minutes. But the crowd wasn’t having it. They kept on going.
There were even chants of ‘get out get out get out’.
Independent journalist Rebecca Brannon who covers Minneapolis posted screenshots of tweets from local Somalis blasting Omar.
Minneapolis Somali Twitter is having a field day with @Ilhan Omar and her husband @TimMynett getting booed.
“You betrayed your roots”
“American Somalis getting their first W”
“We don’t fw sellouts”

If even Somalis in Minnesota are sick of her … who knows? Maybe there’s room for optimism even in some of the more reliably blue states.
Psalms of War: Prayers That Literally Kick Ass is a collection, from the book of Psalms, regarding how David rolled in prayer. I bet you haven’t heard these read, prayed, or sung in church against our formidable enemies — and therein lies the Church’s problem. We’re not using the spiritual weapons God gave us to waylay the powers of darkness. It might be time to dust them off and offer ‘em up if you’re truly concerned about the state of Christ’s Church and of our nation.
Also included in this book, Psalms of War, are reproductions of the author’s original art from his Biblical Badass Series of oil paintings.
This is a great gift for the prayer warriors. Real. Raw. Relevant.
