A mercenary, sometimes known as a soldier of fortune or hired gun, is a private individual, particularly a soldier, who takes part in military conflict for personal profit. By agreeing to fund the war effort and not put American soldiers at risk Biden decided to hire the Ukrainian military and civilians to fight against the Russian Army. Biden provoked the war along with other Democrats going back to the 2016 election. It has been proven that the claims of Russian interference in US elections from 2015 to today have mostly been false.
Biden has used Russia as the scapegoat for all the problems he brought to America. The mainstream media is not reporting the facts of Biden using the people of Ukraine to fight the war against Russia. Biden has wanted to get Russia from the time of the last presidential campaign. All of the problems in the United States are not Biden’s fault, but to quote Joe, as of June 30 of this year, it’s, “Russia, Russia, Russia.”
Very few people reading this commentary will realize they have been subjected to deception by President Biden. Joe Biden started a new war, and so far, he has not engaged American troops to fight directly in his new war. All the elements of America at war are present, except American soldiers are not currently engaged in the conflict. So far, we have spent $53 billion on the war. In February, we had 65,000 troops in Europe; by the end of June, we had over 100,000 troops there. Biden is using Ukraine mercenaries to fight against Russia for us. One needs to ask what the cost is to hire mercenaries.
The United States and Europe have so far this year contributed over $85 billion to the war effort against Russia since February. President Volodymyr Zelensky told the World Bank that his country needed up to $7 billion in support per month to keep up the war effort and would need hundreds of billions of dollars to recover from the war. World Atlas reports that Russia spends about $66 Billion on defense. The west, including America, has already spent over $20 billion more than Russia spends in one year. The money spent on Ukraine would rank it 3rd in the world behind the USA and China.
Some say that Biden is fighting a proxy war with Russia and will need to spend only $16 billion by the end of the year to cross $100 billion. I think it will get to $100 billion long before the end of this year. So far, he has stopped short of sending American troops. Polling data shows that 12% of Americans support sending American troops to fight in Ukraine. The Russians were pouring over the border, and at the same time, Ukrainian women, children, and elderly were trying to leave the country. Currently, over 8.5 million Ukrainians have left the country, fleeing to the countries of Eastern Europe.
As an aside, compare the $53 billion we spent this year on Ukraine with the relatively paltry $17.7 billion we spent last year on our border security. We have already spent over three times the money for the war in Ukraine with a mercenary army than we are spending on the war at our southern border. During the fiscal year 2021, the Customs and Border Patrol (CPB) said it seized 87,652 pounds of narcotics at ports comprising the Laredo Field Office with a street value of around $786 million, including 8,592 pounds of cocaine, up 98% from the fiscal year 2020. They seized 588 pounds of fentanyl, up 1,066% from FY 2020.
The President is misdirecting the American people that fighting the Russians with the mercenary Army is necessary because Putin and the Russians are responsible for all of America’s woes. The President believes that things will get better if we can defeat Russia in Ukraine.
The big unanswered question is, will Joe Biden eventually convince NATO to join him with his 100,000 soldiers and go into Ukraine and fight the Russian troops. The next question is, when will he do it? Will he do it to try and win reelection? Will he tell the American people he will not actively campaign for President because his attention will be on the war to save the world and Ukraine and he is the one to do it.
