Remember when America was led by someone who didn’t occupy his time by calling half the country ‘semi-fascist’ or calling parents out as ‘domestic terrorists?
The left keeps trying to smear our side as some kind of an existential threat to America, as though WE were the ones who seethe every time someone sings the Star Spangled Banner, and who try to discredit and undermine everything uniquely American about our history.
We remind them it’s the Democrats who are the party that celebrates flag burning.
Meanwhile, in Texas, that same so-called semi-fascist ‘threat to democracy’ broke out in song in the middle of a Trump rally. Trump was talking about the J6 Committee and then…
It began almost like the script in the Dr. Seuss Christmas classic, ‘it started in low, then it started to grow… but the sound wasn’t sad, why this sound sounded merry!’
After just a few notes, the whole crowd joined in, then they capped it off with a rousing chant of U-S-A!
At the end of it, Trump said, ‘Wow, that’s so beautiful. You know, when this whole big group stood up, I said, ohhh, we have protesters…. [crowd laughs] And you know what? They ARE protesting. They’re protesting what’s taking place in our country, and it’s so bad and so wrong. It IS a protest.
It’s a protest that’s both ‘peaceful’ and ‘patriotic’, one we should probably make a feature at ALL Republican events. It’s pitch-perfect since it represents the core philosophical difference distinguishing the two parties today… loving the country we have and wanting to make it better, or despising it and wanting it to be ripped down to the joists and remade in some new, untested image.
Those of us who don’t want the country burned to the ground so it can be rebuilt as some kind of a Marxist dystopia still rally around the symbols of what the country was founded on.
There’s a word for such people — we call them ‘patriots’.
