Sen. Rand Paul Makes It Clear That Biden WILL Have To Negotiate With The GOP On The Debt Ceiling

It just means that Biden will have to return to the position that he had when he was a Senator.
The Biden Administration has said that they will not be negotiating with Republicans regarding raising the debt ceiling.
ABC News reports:
…the White House again emphasized that Biden is not willing to entertain policy concessions in exchange for lifting the debt limit, which is the nation’s borrowing authority. The U.S. bumped up against that limit Thursday, and the Treasury Department has deployed “extraordinary measures” to stave off a potential default for at least a few more months.
“Like the president has said many times, raising the debt ceiling is not a negotiation; it is an obligation of this country and its leaders to avoid economic chaos,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in the statement released Friday evening. “Congress has always done it, and the president expects them to do their duty once again. That is not negotiable.”
Here is White House Spokesmuppet Karine Jean-Pierre saying that last Friday:
Dealing with the debt ceiling “should not be a political football,” White House press sec. Karine Jean-Pierre says.

That might be the White House position, but Republicans are ready to play hardball.
Here is Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) making the conservative position crystal clear:

A video posted by the Republican National Committee showed that Biden, back when he was a Senator and again when he was Vice President, had said that refusing to find areas of compromise with the other side was “not governing” and denounced the “my way or the highway” approach.
Joe Biden used to praise "compromise" over negotiations on the debt limit — saying there can’t be a “my way or the highway” approach.
Today, Biden says there can be "NO negotiation." pic.twitter.com/nYA24m34Ru

Gee, what could’ve changed since those days?
The Biden Administration is going to have to learn how to govern without having Democrats holding control of the House and after the way that Democrats treated his Republican predecessor — it’ll probably be a hard lesson.
Oh, well.
