Virginia got soundly spanked by pissed-off parents who were tired of a political agenda being driven whether they liked it or not. If you were expecting them to learn any lessons from that, we have bad news for you.
Lessons were learned from that experience, but not the ones parents WANTED them to learn.
Instead of being more responsive to the demands of concerned parents, and more transparent, the lesson they have taken away has been almost the opposite: ‘don’t get caught’.
They have decided they are the ones in control and parents are not. Decided that they know what’s best for children and parents do not. Decided that they are the white knights charging in and ‘saving’ children from the benighted ignorance they were raised with in their families.
The unions have every intention of continuing apace with their agenda of turning schools into a secular missionary field where agenda-driven teachers are free to preach a secular materialist anti-gospel without restriction. How else do you explain books with content that cannot be read aloud in school board meetings being placed on shelves where young children can read them?
Now that parents have been alerted to the indoctrination and deception that some teachers have been guilty of, laws are coming on-line to address the parents’ concerns.
If they were genuine public servants, the teachers (and their unions) would recognize the general will of the parents and voting public and alter their behavior to comply with the expectations of the people whose taxes put a roof over their heads.
But then again, most of us still haven’t forgotten the role teacher’s unions played in strong-arming Biden to extend the school closures… which contributed DIRECTLY to learning loss.
A new law in Colorado limited a teacher’s ability to discuss certain issues around gender and identity while obligating them to abide by certain standards of transparency about what was being said.
But, being activists — which is to say, missionaries for the secular cause — the teachers’ union had a very different response. They sent out an email instructing teachers on tricks that would allow them to skirt the law or flaunt it completely.
Some parents in Jefferson County say teachers are breaking state and federal laws and their union is helping them get away with it.
At issue are student surveys about gender identity. While the school district says it’s unclear whether surveys about students’ preferred pronouns are illegal, there are several lawsuits regarding the issue. So, administrators told teachers – just don’t go there.
The teachers union told them something else. An email from Jefferson County Education Association (JCEA) to teachers says, “if you do a questionnaire, please make it a paper and pencil activity – any digital records are more permanent and may be requested under federal law.”
The union also encouraged teachers to “make your notations about students and not hold on to the documents.” — CBS
You know, in case you wanted to know what the teachers think of the parents of the children committed to their care.
Under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), parents have the right to inspect and review their student’s education records maintained by a school.

A local mom, Denise Crawford, said the district sent out an email explaining that surveys soliciting such information [referring to questions about a student’s sex/gender/identity] would violate FERPA if done without parental knowledge.
Crawford then explained to CBS that when her son was given a gender identity survey, she felt, “Deceived, lied to, taken advantage of.”
“I don’t feel I can trust the teachers,” she said. “This is not political. It’s just they’re breaking the law.”
Another parent wondered why the union wouldn’t walk back on its recommendations, given the pushback over ethical questions. Fox News Digital previously reported in April about a methodical system to keep parents in the dark in the county about their child’s gender transition.

This story reminds the writer of a recent incident indicating that the pendulum may be beginning to swing in the other direction on issues of ‘gender’ etcetera.
In June, some based Middle-schoolers told the pride enthusiasts to pound sand.
Some students not only refused to bow to the rainbow idol, but also organized a counterprotest.
“This became evident in the lunchroom, where several groups of students wore red, white, blue, or black, including face paint,” wrote school Principal Cari Perchase in a letter to parents. “Groups of students were heard chanting, ‘USA are my pronouns,’ and students glared intimidatingly at faculty members showing pride.” — DailySignal
USA are my pronouns, eh? Sounds like some embers of the spirit of 1776 might yet be burning in Boston. If they need some shirts to be ready for next year, we have that covered.
If you were curious, here’s a peek at the My Pronouns are US/A shirt (the same ones mentioned in the Editor’s Note above ) They are available in 8 colors; 8 sizes.
