Mexico piggybacks on the US economy, with almost 5% of their economy coming from American remittances. This latest GOP policy is gonna clobber that cash cow… and she’s pushing back.

Despite this impact, the reduction in the tax rate from 5% to 3.5% was hailed as a victory by the Mexican government. President Claudia Sheinbaum indicated that they will continue working to avoid the tax. “This reduction is not only important for Mexico; there are Central American countries where remittances represent 20% of the Gross Domestic Product. In our case, it’s around 3%; it’s important for all countries, even for India,” she said.
The Mexican ambassador to the U.S., Esteban Moctezuma, described the tax reduction as an achievement of the lobbying efforts that Mexican authorities conducted days earlier in Washington with both lawmakers and business leaders. “We still need to fully renew this measure, but if not, at least reduce it. The tax is already beginning to be seen as a regressive measure by many members of Congress. This news should encourage us; it is not a definitive victory, but we are moving in the right direction,” the diplomat stated in a message.–ElPais

You can hardly blame her for lobbying. That’s standard practice in any government trying to get another government to listen to its concerns. But with untold millions of Mexican immigrants who see themselves not as Americans, but as Mexicans living in America, what she did next, in the context of the left’s history of coordinate riots against law enforcement AND ICE, and with LA looking the way it’s been looking, what she did next sounds like an open threat.

And where are the animal rights people to express their outrage at the harm being done to horses?

Yeah. Maybe their rioting requires a response. So long as we are seeing violent protesters waving Mexican flags in America, 3.5 might be FAR too low a number. Oh, look: someone else thinks so, too.

Yeah, that’s all well and good. But will the government have the cojones to move on it?

The senator is quoted as saying, “America is not the world’s piggy bank. And we don’t take kindly to threats.”

Well, wouldja look at that? Looks like Mexico’s about to do some ‘finding out’.

And when Trump freezes the federal dollars to California, even someone as committed to illegal immigration as Newsom simply won’t have enough money to keep giving out state-psonsored freebies. There’s already a massive hole in his budget. And taxes can only go so high.

If they’re ‘her countrymen’ it’s time she welcome them home again. Many of them are now causing a ruckus and have overstayed their welcome.
