Old-School Dem political kingmaker is warning Democrats that Crockett is exactly the wrong person for the job. But will anyone listen?
Carville has had something of a resurgence since the tail end of the Biden years when he was ringing alarm bells that the party had gone so ‘woke’ that they were losing the electorate. (He was right about that.)
He’s still a bat-crap crazy partisan who told us in February that his administration would ‘collapse in 30 days’. And he has been insisting that the party needs to double-down on aggressive opposition to all things Trump (not dialing it back after the two assassination attempts), a opinion that doesn’t seem much affected by the fact that Charlie Kirk has been assassinated since then.
But some of his political advice is center-cut straight up political common sense.
He’s calling out Jasmine Crockett as a candidate who is taking exactly the wrong approach to run a Senate race in Texas.
On Thursday on the “Politicon” podcast, Democratic strategist James Carville said Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) is too focused on herself to win the Senate seat in Texas.
And if you’ve seen any of her rhetoric, he’s right about one thing.
It really is ‘all about her’.
Is she likely to take humility lessons from Carville? Not bloody likely. After all she’s already strong-armed other would-be Democratic Senate contenders to drop out of the race to make room for her.
Why would she change when she thinks she’s ascendent?
