RIP Creator Scot Adams — His Last Message, And How The Public Responded To His Passing

Remember the self-righteous finger-wagging after Rob Reiner's death as they show their true colours here

Scott Adams lived a remarkable life. He never expected to make it through last summer. The diagnosis looked grim. He managed to stick around until early 2026, and made good use of the time as he did so.

On Tuesday, Jan 13, 2026, at that age of 68, Scott Adams concluded his natural life on Earth.

Scott Adams is best remembered as the creator of the Dibert cartoons. But that was just a slice of who he was. He was a successful author, a skilled communicator, had an enduring interest in the principles of persuasion, and he had a robust and faithful following where die-hard fans celebrated his trademark ‘simultaneous sip’ at the beginning of his live streams.

For all of the wealth and fame he amassed over the years, he did not adopt the self-important persona we see among so many others who have stumbled onto such success. What he carried himself with was a something more sophisticated than an aw-shucks sincerity, but very much in the same vein.

On New Years’ Day he wrote a message to us all that is published now that Scott is no longer with us. Clicking on it will reveal the message he wrote. Attentive readers will notice that even in his final message, his tone is self-effacing and concerned for others. There is even a mention of him pledging himself to Christ, though he had not known Him during his life.

As you would expect, his passing provided an opportunity for many to show their support of him and his work, and offer of condolences to those near to him. We would include this post among such acknowledgements. The one time I interacted with him online, he was nothing but gracious and respectful.

Just to pick two examples, here’s Trump:

And here’s Zuby:

Now let’s see how the media that once gave a glowing eulogy of the ‘austere religious scholar’ Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi weighed in on the passing of Scott Adams.

It wasn’t just one outlet with a personal ax to grind. Here’s another example.

Scott Adams, much beloved and never accused of any crime I had heard of was ‘disgraced’. But OJ Simpson who (allegedly) murdered his own wife gets to have ‘family’ included in his death announcement. Stay classy journos.

Here’s an example of why the left didn’t like him. He had a simple and compelling way of communicating basic facts.

It cost him. Dearly.

But in his own words, it was worth it.

We’ll let another artist, Doug TenNaple have the last word:
