MSLSD Host Says, “The Poor Are The Risk Takers. Not Small Business Owners!”

By definition, the “poor” are not “risk takers” as they are risking nothing of their own.

Maybe the ‘poor’ should take advantage of the many, many advantages afforded them to educate themselves; then take a ‘risk’ and get a job!! Who is this dumb person Melissa –?

The poor need a safety net is true. However the government is not it. If businesses can’t be established or expanded then employment remains low and tax revenue remains low. The poor suffer as a result. When you have a high tax environment businesses either move or raise the cost of goods both hurt the poor. When there is lower tax revenue there is less tax money for ifrasturcture which hits the poor inordinately higher. When you have high crime rates such as she was screaming about so passionately that drives business away to the detriment of poor people.
What needs to be done is to create business friendly policies that encourages expansion and establishment. Also something not heard of nowdays is for the citizens to wrest back control of the streets from the gangs and others that make businesses wary in the first place. Police cannot do it by themselves even though some will say it is their job and then hide their head in the sand or move.

Were the so called “poor” to do what successful people do- get educated or training to bring a valuable service to the table for a potential employer- they too would be able to rise above their “lot in life” and thereby improve their living standards- just like every other person who decided to do something about their present condition/living standards to improve them. I lost a great paying job in 1994 through no fault of my own, went back to school, took no government grants, no government loans, paid my own way and expense and learned a completely new vocation. My financial situation- and net worth improved dramatically above the great job I had previously had and I never looked back. You make you life, not me. Do something about it besides piss and moan. Bring value to the table, somebody will pay for it. There is nothing racist or biased about this. It is fact. Nobody has a greater interest in your success than you should. It is not government’s responsibility, not mine, or anyone else but your won. Get up off your ass, stop playing your pity-party fiddle and go do something constructive to better your value to an employer. Something works, nothing doesn’t.
