Commandment which affect forwards 3 or 4 generations in disobedience, because by breaking especially ONE of the commandments, they break ALL of them, and because they are then IMMORAL – they cannot keep moral rules or ethics very well, causing a type of “KARMA”. ((The 1 Law that breaks all others is the 4th. – Each and every other law can be broken by refusing that one as stated. Even if the allegations about King James were true, the Bible was not written by nor is it about King James. His behavior and his religious sensibilities are irrelevant to the content of the Bible itself. The only question is: Did his scholars translate the scripture accurately? We know that some of their source documents were in Greek, and were not *primary* sources. Translation of the primary documents in Aramaic have shown some mistranslations. In any case, the homosexuality passages and penalties are not in question. The whole issue of “Queen James” is irrelevant to the question at hand.

How could the Bible “need” a word that wasn’t invented until centuries later? I’m no scholar but the appearance of the word “homosexual” in any version of the Bible seems questionable. It seems to me that God allowed the human psyche to have the potential to be homosexual. I do not support the promiscuity commonly associated with the “gay lifestyle” and the spread of incurable viruses. I understand the revulsion which many decent patriotic people feel towards same-gender sexual activity. I think, however, that out-of-wedlock heterosexual acts, which have the potential to bring a baby into the world, with (some say) fifty million such babies murdered in the womb (in America alone) or raised outside of a committed marriage, are a far more serious moral problem. We are all sinners whose only hope is the forgiveness bought and paid for by the Plan of Salvation. In my view, believers who simplistically announce, based on their translatin of the Bible, that homosexuals are going to hell, may do Christianity a disservice.

  The word “homosexual” is also an English word, therefore it never appeared in the primary source writings. It is clear in the scripture that the sin of sodomy is in the doing of it, not in how it is called. To paraphrase Shakespeare, “Sodomy, by any other name, would remain just as bad!” Does calling a penis a “Schwanze” (German) make it any other than what it us?
  
  Likewise, the original Bible documents do not contain the English words “Murder”, “R@pe”, “M@asturbation”, “Extortion”, “C0pulation”, “Beztiality” or “Ped0philia”. According the the QJ logic, all of these are thus morally permissible.

His Holy Spirit will go to work on your heart just as He goes to work on the hearts of all who accept Christ, and it is a life-long process (and beyond) of digging up sin that we often do not even see (because this world has blinded us), helping us to recognize that sin and repent of it. All of us Christians have to go through this process. Keep your heart open to His leading.
  
  You seem like a very intelligent and thoughful person, so I would ask you to consider this. If, as many now believe, there is a genetic tendency toward alcoholism, does this mean that God intended people to live as alcoholics? In my family, there is a genetic tendency toward cancer. Does that mean it should not be treated and rooted out? In my family, there is also a genetic tendency toward depression. Does that mean God intended us to live as depressed people and that we should not seek to overcome that or get treatment for it? Beware of reading into the Bible what you want it to say. Anyone who approaches scripture with an open heart and mind seeking to know what GOD wants to teach them instead of seeking to justify what they want to believe is going to find things in there that make them uncomfortable. That goes for me too! I don’t always understand why God says what He does, but I recognize that this is due to my own limited and sin-broken undertstanding rather than to His injustice– because I know Him well enough to trust in His justice and mercy and love. There are more then just eight verses that reference homosexuality. They all state that homosexuality is not acceptable to God. There is no wiggle room. Also the human genome study has concluded that homosexuality is not hardwired. Whether or not they believe does not change it. By changing God’s Holy Word, they will also bring his wrath down on them for in Psalms 138:2 for he has magnified his Holy Word above his Holy Name and he is very protective of his Holy Name. Name one time before 1946 when those verses were thought to mean anything else. It has always been understood to mean homosexuality, and it was written to be understood. Of course you can pick any English word and say it isn’t in the original old and new testament writings, because they were Hebrew and Greek. Big deal. This is yet another instance of people trying to make God in their own image. Forcing others to accept homosexual marriage does not change what God has said about it, and cutting words out of the bible doesn’t either. Of course the word “homosexuality” wasn’t originally in the Bible. The words “homosexual” and “heterosexual” we’re made up by a travel writer/journalist in Germany in the 1860s. Just because the Bible doesn’t use the word “homosexuality,” doesn’t mean it doesn’t mention the acts.

Rewriting facts to suit a point of view, or philosophy in this case, doesn’t change the facts. The bad news with “revised scripture” is that redemption for a perversion (sin) is negated, thus keeping a person in bondage. Nature fully supports the biblical view of homosexuality so completely that only eight verses and, perhaps, a measure of honesty is necessary. The sexual practice is so abhorent that the subject is briefly stated then another topic is introduced. In other words, “nuff said”. Expounding on homosexuality only attempts to glorify the practice, thus working toward a kind of legitimacy. The Bible not only identifies sinful activity, it also presents redemption. “Hate the sin, but love (agape) the sinner.” In spite of all of the “yeah but(s)…” there is redemption for homosexuals if they will recieve it. That point is more important than describing the sin.

The same King James that ordered this translation from Latin into English was well known as a homosexual or according to some biographers at least bi-sexual as he was reputed to be a patient and caring husband to his young queen, Anne of Denmark.
