wow are you stupid. guns didnt exist then

      • charli

        Swords did.

        • Lon

I believe Jesus told people to use there cloths and buy a sword. — He said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.”
          —Luke 22:36, NIV

        • chamuiel

Charli, and Jesus said go buy one.

    • nollster

No He doesn’t. He wants His followers to protect themselves against evil people.

    • Reb Biker

Jesus is probably not too happy with you right now, for using your Daddy’s computer without his permission. It’s going to be hilarious when your Dad finally finds out what you’ve been writing in these groups.

    • polmutant

Jesus hates stupidity. do you practice stupidity? or does it just come naturally?

    • chamuiel

Todd, p;ease show proof of your claim. Anything but your mouth will be considered.

Jesus is the one who said, “if you have a spare cloak, sell it and buy a sword.’

Apparently you are one who believes if you tell a lie often enough, and long enough, some will believe it.

    • Pakinpastor

Can you show that to me in the scriptures? Or is that something your made up Jesus said to you?
The scriptures are filled with the people of Israel fighting with knives, swords and daggers, along with anything else they could muster up against the enemies of God. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is not a passive God. He wants us to stand up for righteousness, justice and for His Word, the Torah. He does not change. Malachi 3:6 and Yeshua (Jesus) is the same yesterday, today and forever. He and the Father are ONE,(Echad).
Many pastors have given a watered down version of what the True gospel is, and we have people like you that think that our Savior is coming back with daisy’s in His hands, and bringing peace to the world. But He said He did not come to bring peace, but a sword (weapon)! To cause division! To turn father against his son, mother against daughter and so on. You should read it, It may change your attitude, AND you may make it to the Kingdom!!!

    • Jeremy

You can’t show proof, cause you have no idea what you are talking about. I am guessing you are just an obama droid making comments on this post.

    • gotcha1988

No, unlike you, Jesus can distinguish between tools and evil. He never spoke against swords, only the indiscriminate use of them. In fact, at one point, he told his disciples to arm themselves with swords even if it meant that they went without clothing (Luke 22:36). The sword was the most lethal weapon available to civilians in those days- sort of like an AR15 for us. Imagine Jesus saying, “If you don’t have an AR15, sell your coat and get one.”

    • Jed54

I guess he told you so?

    • granny

You mean Jesus’ (pronounced jay-sus) from the Hispanic community, or the one from the muslim community? Jay-sus is afraid he will get his tush shot off. Maybe Jay-sus likes knives or baseball bats, bombs, etc. Tuf manure Jay-sus.

Another reason to be a Taoist.
xianity has no brains, blls or backbone! I had a toy gun arsenal as a kid,
played army, have been pro 2nd amend all my life, never became a mass murderer.
Never thought of killing anyone, love my fellow human beings, especially those
of “color.” The regressive ideology is degenerate and primitive as it
believes that humans are a blank slate and that inanimate objects have spirits
in them that can influence you. Passive
limp brained and infantile intellects are highly influenced by outside sources,
so the neo-left is correct, the lame brained are influenced by social forces
and succumb to pressures outside of themselves. But wait, the left took over the culture in
the 60’s and has lobotomized everyone they can get to! Another self fulfilling prophesy
of an ideology that only retards can believe as one must make people into
    retards to believe it.

    • Shawn

Taoism? Seriously? There are idiots in every religion (if indeed this man is even a Christian, which I doubt). You don’t decide which religion to follow based on your judgment of its professing adherents. The logical person should choose his religion based on what is true. And Christianity is historical, tested, and objectively true!

Maybe if this “pastor” would focus on ministering and preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ like he’s supposed to, he wouldn’t have to worry about the kids in his neighborhood growing up to be criminals.

    • http://www.facebook.com/james.karrick James T. Karrick

You have a great point. What ever happen to bringing up kids with values, morals and the good sense of not to lie, cheat or steal. May GOD help us all.

    • SASS

  • amigahal

I don’t like toy guns because kids tend to think of guns as toys which is a dangerour situation. Guns are not toys and never should be thought of as toys. I had a friend from the city almost shoot his fiance with my brother’s .22L rifle because he did not respect guns. Fortunately he pulled it away from his fiance because it went off when he pulled the trigger.

    • polmutant

just because your brother is immature idiot, like most amafrikans does not mean there are not responsible parents. foolishness like this is i sign of the sheople.

    • Bulldog74

When I was growing up toy guns were a staple of boyhood. And if there were no toy guns around we pointed sticks at each other. But not one of us ever shot anyone, either accidentally or on purpose.
And when we were given “real” guns–even BB guns–we treated them with the utmost respect. Pointing one of these at anything other than the ground or a target was enough to earn a whuppin’.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=670392611 Nathan Myers

That is not because he played with toy guns. It’s because whoever bought him those guns didn’t teach him to respect guns as being dangerous if used wrongly. Many years ago I let my nephew use my pellet gun under supervision. When his sister came out of the house he pointed at her and I told him if that ever happened again he would never touch another gun.

    • USMC and America proud

      Let’s reverse your thinking then!

I like ‘toy’ guns, because ‘a responsible parent’ can use them to start teaching the importance of gun safety! It also allows the parent to play with the child, training the child’s thought processes to understand to THINK before firing!

I could go on and on here, but I think you get the idea! By the time the child is ready to step up to the next level (a bb or pellet gun) it should be trained by then to respect a firearm, respect and practice safety, and how to care for his firearm!

It’s obvious that your friend was never taught anything about firearms as a kid! Almost ALWAYS a tragic mistake, and in this case showed up as such!

As my handle suggests, I know firearms, know how, when, and when NOT to use them! I had my first real firearm and knew that, (how, when, when NOT to use it) by the age of 11! By the time I hit the Marines, I was considered an expert by the trainers! This of course, because I WAS already an expert! IF every person in this country would get away from YOUR type of thinking about firearms,(what COULD happen if I have a gun, to my child, or I’m afraid of guns and never want to touch one, type of fear) and get back into the thinking of “train up a child in the way it should go” with firearms, we would have a nation that is well armed, able to defend itself again! And to show the truth of that, it wasn’t too many weeks ago, that a boy properly used an AR-15 of his dad’s, to defend his sister and their home! Makes it obvious that he was trained by a responsible set of parents! Was someone shot? You betcha! The bad guys!

People tend to forget that this country was well armed, INCLUDING OUR CHILDREN, from the founding of the nation until about 40 years ago, when people who wanted to take our weapons, started using every tragic mistake or accident to convince the American people that having guns was dangerous! Children back in the early days of the country, was responsible for hunting game for the settlers as well as dad! They also used their weapons to defend the home from intruders as a matter of necessity! This type of family was very close knit, and loved people, befriending one another as a regular practice of community service! Some how we let people who have slick tongues, hiding their real agendas, talk us out of being real Americans! Americans were always people who stood up for those who were weak, ill, and unable to defend themselves! We were the “go to guys” when evil raised its ugly head! But now we are a nation of wimps! We don’t go after the bad guys because we let bubble headed idiots tell us that “it’s not your job to stop the bad guys, it’s the cops job, and you don’t have a right to defend yourself, so call a cop and let US handle it!”

Bull! It’s everybody’s job to take care of yourself and when necessary, your neighbor! Can’t do that if you don’t like weapons of defense!

  • polmutant

this “pastor” is a satanic obamaloid. God bless America! God d@mn the obamanation of desolation.

  • chamuiel

What a sissy! What is he going to do when the children grow up and have to go fight a war. They won’t be saving his rear end, because all the Minister taught them is how to be a sissy.

  • Alfred King of Wessex

While this is silly and ludicrous, ( and will be pointless in the end)….at least this pastor is trying to change the mindset in these black communities. Many clergy are simply there to squeeze their people via the collection plate ( white as well as black clergy)… being con men in their ghettos, as rooted in chicanery, theft and laziness as the pimp or the drug dealer. ( Just look at Jesse Jackson….who perfected the “shakedown”. ) But bringing change to these places is a lot more than giving up plastic pistols. It’s about instilling morality…ending drugs, government dependency, teen motherhood and getting people to love one another…instead of, as is the case today, having no regard for human life. Hollywood and the moguls there must share the blame too. After all….they are making a concerted effort to destroy Christian values and morality since they are operating on an edict from 1897 that states…”first defile, then destroy. ” Look around! They have been very successful so far……..for the values and morality of this nation have sunk so low, it’s a reflection of where we are being led by a godless group only interested in seizing control over all the nations and their people.

    • JRJ21

The mindset to always blame tools and others for your lack of self control is the problem. Do the world a favor Pastor,AND BUY BACK THE BLAME GAME FROM YOUR COMMUNITY KIDS.

  • gdoggerz

Wrong Pastor. You teach kids the proper use and respect of guns. You don’t shield them from the evil of this world you teach them to deal with it.

  • slickzip

What a wussy this so called p;reacher needs to preach the loving words of GOD ,,

  • JZ

Hmmmm, a gun is nothing more than an inanimate object. It is neither worthy of love nor hate. Other than the statements documented in a famous author’s book, I’m not willing to attribute any thoughts, feelings, likes or dislikes to Jesus. I suspect and believe, that how we treat one another, whether saved or not, has far more importance than any focused on an object. Guns, spoons, table legs, water, et al are just objects and could all be used to harm another but it’s the action taken to do so that deserves condemnation; not the objects themselves.

  • gdoggerz

The problem today is that a lot of these kids are on psychotropic drugs that make them homicidal and suicidal. They are constantly told how great they are, how they are perfect…when they fail they don’t know how to deal with the failure. Most of them have been turned into sociopaths because of the violent and bloody video games they play for much of the day. When they snap they really snap.

    • MarxistTwilightZone

I also think all you have to be is a White Male for some of todays male hating or white hating teachers to say the child needs to be on medication. I do not think many parents challenge these teachers or administrators or have professional tests taken to see if their child really needs psychotropic drugs. There is a really Big Scam going on with today’s White Male Children and some teachers/administrators who lean left.

  • gwedem5995

I remember back when I was little, the kids played cowboys and indians. Now all the kids are exposed to is violence on TV, in the movies, in the News. It is everywhere. These little kids aren’t thinking to themselves let’s go and see who I can kill today, they are saying they are taking care of the bad guys. I agree with you Bulldog 74.

I am 68, I was raised in a house where guns were hung on the wall proudly. We were taken outside by an adult by the time we were six, and allowed to fire a gun, actually several guns under an adults supervision, and then warned to never touch the guns unless an adult said we could. We never touched them because our curiosity had been satisfied.

I played with toy guns all of my young childhood. cap pistols when we could afford them, and others.

My grandfather even made us guns carved out of a piece of wood.

i have owned guns all my life. I have never committed a crime with a gun, never threatened anyone with a gun, and never fired a gun at anyone in anger.

The left along with the Feminists want to emasculate little boys and make of them sissy asexuals who cannot defend themselves, nor their families.

    • Shawn

You’ll be happy to know that our church runs a program for fathers and sons and we teach boys how to shoot rifles, shotguns, and bows.

      • lasercad

OMG, you are sinners!!! Your supposed to make guns mysterious and taboo. That way the little tykes will seek them out when nobody is home. What could possibly go wrong?

      • granny

Hurrah for that church & the fathers & sons…..Too bad they don’t do that for the daughters.

    • granny

I am a female…..My kids (boys & girl), all hunt & shoot. Am sorry to say that my kids did not do the same with their kids. In fact, the parent-in-law would not let one of my grandchildren shoot a BB gun (of course when I took care of the grandkids, they got their chance) . My kids father also was a hunter. When they were enrolled with the NRA (they wanted to hunt w/ Dad), & they wanted me to go with them (I did). Am proud to say they did great. This was done at the police station, & the police at that time took me aside and had me shoot all known hand guns so I could get one that was right for me. Wonder if any are that nice now.? So you see some of those feminists were products of parents (mom & dad) that thought girls should be seen and not heard from. It was just as much the dad’s duty to take his girls out and teach them how much fun you can have just by going to a shooting club and all learn the handling & shooting of a gun. Thats a fact chamuiel……Did you take your girls out along w/ the boys?????

I hear what you’re saying, but given the overall breakdown of the family and the values it espouses, there are very few MEN today; sure, MALES, but that’s about it. The bottom line is this, as I see it. For those who really don’t have any business with a gun, they’ll participate in the “buyback” program”. My guess is that St. Louis isn’t as repressive as NYC or NJ, so I think quite a few people have guns at home.

But I want to talk about gun “games”. I don’t have to tell you that guns are not toys. I have to wonder, if in the long run, perceiving guns as “fun”, has contributed over time, to an obliviousness or a taking for granted, how dangerous they can really be. As such, a society so inundated with a distorted understanding of guns and violence in general, become more apt to engage in reckless and murderous behavior.

I mean, think about in contemporary times, how video games have made us as a society, less sensitive to human life and its preservation. This was not the culture you or I grew up in, and as such, it has to be taken into account as to how we properly process our 2nd Amendment rights and privileges, as applicable.

      • SASS

It’s not the guns, it’s the devaluing of human life. You can kill a person in a myriad of ways without ever using a gun. Life is no longer a precious commodity. Just look at how people view a BABY in the womb.

  • BobM001

How many unwed mothers with MULTIPLE children from MULTIPLE “men” does this “pastor” have in his congregation? His efforts would be better spent addressing issues like this.

FEMA and other agencies will make use of the useful idiots in collars, citing Romans 13, telling their sheep to obey all government edicts and decrees. If the DHS wants to relocate large groups of human livestock and do house to house searches for guns and “signs of hoarding”, the pastors will accompany the storm troopers to your houses to ensure docility and submission. The churches will use informants to notify authorities of 2nd amendment proponents, libertarians, outspoken critics of the current regime, etc.

The biggest lure on to “the primrose path” is most likely mystique. Children are naturally curious. They see violence, including shooting on television, computers, in movies etc. so curiosity is raised. Parents are the primary teachers of their children. (they do NOT belong to the state!) It is the way our creator “wired” us. Churches and schools are available to assist with the task at hand. (teaching) Therefore, teach the children that responsibility always accompanies a priviledge. Remain consistant with the teachings found in scripture and the “mystique” is eliminated. Thus the children will accept guns for what they are and there is no need to be afraid of possible harm.

Maybe we should have a brain buy back. There are many people out there that are not using them, and well, they can do a lot of damage. The brain, if not used properly can be very violent and has been known to be used to kill people. I think if we can raise enough money, we could start a brain buy back. Anyone out there willing to contribute?

Do away with electronic shoot’em up games. And come out with movies where the good guy always wins. Guns are not the culprit. And do away with drugging our kids. Drugs that form their personality. Drugs that make our kids turn out bad. Of course I’m only 80 years of age, what do I know?

    • Steve Thomas

Yes, do away with grugs. Like most PRESCRIPTION medications, vaccines, and over the counter pain killers and cold remidies.

    • granny

My kind of man. Those DVD’s w/ killing games help the kids learn to like it. Drugs are started by many so they don’t look like a wuss. To bad they don’t have the brains or balls to say “no thank you, I’ve been there & its over-rated” Kids would do better if they started to think for themselves & not to try follow the leader.. Betcha more kids die from OD than die from a gun.

  • EnemyoftheState

I joined the local gun club on the recommendation of a friend at Church. Most of the elders are armed and regard self defense as a Biblical principle. Perhaps Presbyterians are somewhat sharper on this than Baptists. I took my 10 year old to the range with his older brother last week and he shot rifles and hand guns.

Perhaps the Pastor ought to remember Christ’s words in Luke 22:36 “if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one”.

    • KJQ

We too are a Presbyterian family of gun enthusiasts in a decidedly gun-phobic country (Canada). I have a lot of Baptist friends and somehow the idea that Christianity = pacifism has become the predominant view. I think it’s related to their arminian beliefs (i.e. we can’t kill unbelievers in self-defense but should let them kill us and our families because while we’re in heaven, they’ll have time to “hear the gospel and make the right choice”). It makes me sick to know Christians would be willing to stand by while others are being killed, for the sake of the murderer. Now that is warped, heretical Christianity.

      • revdto

I can assure you all that this is NOT the position of the Southern Baptists as I am one. Gun control, buybacks and the sort are the positions of the liberal branches of Baptists such as the American Baptists and others. This doesn’t surprise me as these liberal Baptists abandoned adherence to the Bible as God’s Word long ago.

        • KJQ

Good to hear, Daniel. I’m “praying without ceasing” for “the bride” to repent and return to “her Husband”.

        • Zanna

I was raised Independent Baptist, with a gun behind every door. I attend a Southern Baptist church now and some of us (men and women) conceal carry in church, with approval from leadership. My children are taught gun safety from a very young age and we use range time as family time.

    • vincent

The PCUSA, ELCA, and other predominantly rich white denoms are notorious for their pacifistic socialism (unless it involves undeclared wars and armed drones used against civilians)! Add in Rick Warren, Campolo, McLaren and the leftist Catholics, and you have an unholy church-state alliance.
Hitler had a few German churches in his back pocket, and they proudly flew the Nazi flag from the pulpit. We will see alot of religious leaders calling for obedience and submission when the narcissist in cheif decides to use his Civilian Security Force.
As the door is smashed and the flash grenades land next to your children and your family dog, you will notice how those flak jackets and MP5 submachine guns look so stylish on the DHS goonsquads! Never mind the third degree burns on your kids or the hollow point rounds in your beagle!! Who Would Jesus Shoot?

      • EnemyoftheState

When it comes to war I am a pacifist because wars do not resolve problems; they only sow the seeds for future conflict (eg Versailles). However anyone coming in uninvited into my home has a choice of a pump or an AR15. Hitler called for the confiscation of guns – the Germans, being a Borg like people, capitulated. Hopefully the Americans will not. Who would Jesus shoot? I think we all know the answer to that.

    • granny

Baptists are a different un-sharpened breed. There are a lot of them in the South and they are as stuck up as the Catholics when it comes to guns, birth control , condoms, & fish on Friday. Too bad the priests are so much in the limelight about no-no’s (they should have their shtick cut off). Anyone know about the Baptists on that line of thinking.

The guy doesn’t read the Bible, apparently. Absoutely no where does God or Jesus condemn owning weapons in fact Jesus makes it absolutely clear to own a weapon in, Luke 22:36 ESV,
“He said to them, “But now let the one who has a money bag take it, and likewise a knapsack. And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one”.

The guy is totally ignorant about the Revolutionary War. England specifically was on a weapons confiscation mission and was met with severe resistance from the ‘Black Robe Brigade’ as the Brits referred to them as. They were preachers and pastors from Presbyterian and Babtist churches and many more affiliations who led their congregations into battle.

Even Gandhi was a pro gun rights activist, http://www.thecollegefix.com/post/12452

Also, Catholic priests were fighting the Mexican Marxist government that ran a brutal and bloody campaign against the Church during the Cresteros War during the 1920’s. Go watch the movie, The Greater Glory w/ Andy Garcia and Peter O’Toole or ask a Mexican friend who’s at 30 y/o who learned about it in their schools.

Paster, Jesus was all about teaching love, forgiveness and faith, he came and died to give us a way to receive forgiveness for our sins so that we may receive eternal life. He was not about taking tools away from individuals or about taking away free will. It should be all about the individual and teaching him about right and wrong, good and evil, and about how to use his god given tools to sustain himself and his family and friends and for general good.

I’m a pastor too. . . a pistol packin’ pastor. And proud! I carry a Kahr .40 on my ankle and an EAA .45 on my side (sometimes both at once). I’m not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and I’m not ashamed of the Bill of Rights. I agree with this lib pastor on keeping the violent video games and the gory movies out of the house. But violent weapons? Dear liberal pastor, you’ve got logic issues! Now you’ll need to remove all your kitchen knives, ball bats, golf clubs, and bricks from the premises as well.

  • Obama_Lies

How did I guess this “Pastor” was BLACK? I swear there are way too many crack pot black preachers out there that don’t know a thing about what the BIBLE states, let alone can figure out what it really means!

  • Oldchopper

Him being a pastor I would think he’s aware of the evil that engulfs our world. Bulldog74 has it right about using the Gospel. That’s where are strength is. God expects man to protect the innocent and helpless, spiritually and worldly. Needless to say we’re not doing a very good job of it with 57 million abortions on our watch (1973 to 2013) and these are not Godly people that put this in place. This pastor’s wanting men to further cower to the evil that surrounds us by giving evil the upper hand all the way around. Guns are here to stay and if this man thinks just letting the bad people have them is the answer I hope he or his loved ones never fall victim. It will be an eye opener! It took guns to build this country and it takes guns to save it.

Hey!!! Look!! Im making news!! Maybe my Sunday attendance will higher..

  • $39132868

I opened up this story because I though this story would be amusing. A fraud, passing himself off as a “Pastor” was engaging in Potemkin Village grand-standing. Then I saw the Pastor’s name, and locale. I knew before I researched him, that he was Black. FROM his name and locale. You can all go look up his name, church, and location. There are pictures of the Pastor and his wife. They look like nice enough people. I’m certain he is sincere. Here is “why”. St Loius, like so many other cities, is an African city. St Louis used to be White – but now it’s African. Pastor is an African. His wife looks like she is a Quadroon. She is not “half-White” – and, and probably Pastor Francis, as well, is a miscegenated African. Most of the violence in the St Loius is committed by Negroes. As is most of the violence in the USA. Obama the Kenyan’s political career was launched in Chicago. The demographic distribution of Chicago is approx 1/3 Caucasian, 1/3 Mestizo, and 1/3 Negro. 95% of ALL the robberies, shootings, and murders is commited by the Blacks and brown. The Blacks of Chicago commit most of the crimes, but the Browns are catching up fast. Negro males, who are approx 8% of the US population, commit approx 51% of aLL Big Rime crimes. Armed robbery, assault, murder, rape – rape in the USA is pretty much a Black thing, and it’s pretty much a Black on White thing. Even with Eric Fast and Furious Holder defiling his office – the stats don’t lie.
Here’s a wee unfortunate Race Fact: average Negro IQ is 85 points. This means half of them are underneath his Mean. Raw African IQ is between 60-70 points. Most American African have approx 18% Caucasian DNA – but their average intelligence levels off at around 85 points. A full deviation and a half below Whites and Far Eastern Asians. NO amont of money will imprive this in any way. That wil take thousands of years of upbreeding. Welfare breeding, in the other hand, promotes the race to the bottom. IQ is Race, Race is IQ. Race is in the DNA.
Zimbabwe, when Zimbabwe was Rhodesia, was a prosperous and thriving Nation. Rhodesia was “The Bread Basket of Africa” ,and exported food. Now, since the African take-over – Rhodesia ia African. Just like South African. Just like The Belgian Congo. Just like Haiti. All of these Nations were founded BY Whites. Yes, my dears – it’s true. Haiti was the Jewel of the Carribean, whe nruled by the French. Far wealtheir than all the 13 American Colonies put together, Haiti supplied 80% of the wealth of the French Empire. In the late 1700’s, the African slaves rose up, slaughtered a black pig, drank it’s blood – this is all on record – and pleaded with Satan to serve him, for 200 years, if Satan helped them drive all the White Devils out. Satan apparently agreed. Now- Haiti is Haiti. Whites have bene purting resources into Haiti for almost 200 years (why I cannot fathom), after the genocide – and Haiti is still Haiti. Haiti is an African Nation.
Pastor Francis and al the gun-buy back in the wolrd will not do a thing to stop innate genetic behavior. DENYING innate genetic behavior does not help at all, and only accelerates the utter destruction. I ask any-one who has read this far – how far do you want thngs to go? Why are you SO invested in denying a completely consistent, demonstrable reality, of centuries? PLEASE do not cite Allan West, and the New Dark Darling of the Right, Dr Carson. I hold no animsoty against these men, but I do not need them to validate my beliefs, and any historical facts. The are indeed Good Negroes – but their existence is the absolutely teeny tiny exception that proves the rule. Those crimes stats are the rule. So, I ask you – how much longer are YOU going to deny reality, White Conservative, and aid and abet the Africanization of America? If you want to live in Zombabwe – move to Zimbabwe. If you don’t want America to turn into Zimbabwe – then STOP HELPING. .

Better to teach a youngster about gun ethics while there young, than to have some gang do it !

  • KJQ

If this “pastor” has boys, then I guarantee they have or will use toy guns. The ‘gun’ may be a stick, a cane, a ruler or their thumb and forefinger, but they’ll still “shoot” thinks in play. His whole viewpoint is wrong. Godly men are the defenders of themselves, their wifes, daughters and sons. To do this, they need the “weapons of the day”. True Christianity is not pacifistic. Killing in self-defense/defense of others; in a just war; and by the civil magistrate in administering capital punishment are NOT murder. Failing to kill in these circumstances is actually a violation of God’s law. When we first see our sons playing “shoot the bad guys”, that is the perfect teaching moment to begin educating them about firearms safety. Removing toy guns will have the opposite affect as what is intended, creating a dangerous mystique and/or irrational fear of firearms.

  • krell51

Perhaps we should raise money to buy little dresses for the boys who turn in their guns. You know, turn in your toy gun get a little money and a pretty new dress to go along with your social castration and maybe one of those little pink ponys

  • tampapatriot

Not to worry! while idiot pastor is blabbing his lib trash, his kids are at the neighbors playing lots of video games of a violent nature and realize it’s only pretend. His time
would be better spent teaching neighborhood children the 10 Commandments! ! !
    and other true Bible lessons.
Could he be one of the money changers in the temple that Christ threw out on their

  • lasercad

Maybe he should have all the little boys come in and trade the toy guns for Barbie Dolls. Yeah, that will result in neutered little men later in life. Sounds good, huh?

  • Noah

Rodney Francis better start buying back televisions too if he wants to compound his theory.

  • mackadoo

I find it amazing that while in the Middle East children are being taught how to kill us with guns, knives, explosives, etc, while in the meantime we are teaching our kids fear and giving them sensitivity training. This is not likely to end well.

If the boys cannot play with toy gun, what can they play with? The dolls, then there will be more gays in this country.

“Because many of today’s pulpits are filled with antinomian, pacifistic, anti-gun pastors, most of today’s Christians are unaware Yahweh ordered His disciples to arm themselves. Consequently, Christians have looked to the Second Amendment for their authority to keep and bear arms. Had they been following the Apostle Paul’s instructions in 2 Timothy 2:15 (“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”) instead of relying on such pastors, they would have found their authority in the Bible. The question regarding firearms is one of self-defense:

‘If the thief is caught while breaking in, and is struck so that he dies, there will be no
bloodguiltiness on his account. But if the sun has risen on him, there will be bloodguiltiness on his account….’ (Exodus 22:2-3, referred to by Christ in Matthew 24:43)….

“What [Fredrick] Bastiat depicted as a natural right, the Apostle Paul described as a God-required responsibility:

‘…if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.’ (1 Timothy 5:8)

“After providing for his family’s spiritual safety, a Christian man’s next priority should be providing for his family’s physical protection. Food, clothing, and shelter are of little benefit if you are unprepared or unwilling to defend your family against thieves, rapists, and murderers. It is not unchristian to practice self-defense – it is unchristian if
    you do not.”

The argument of inalienable rights vs. duties and responsibilities is both false and hollow. It is solely based on the straw man that rights are optional while these God given duties and responsibilities are not optional. One; this concept would nullify the well excepted Christian doctrine of Freewill. God is not going to tie us up and drag us screaming into heaven. Each day we must make a choice whether to obey God or not. Over and over in the Bible God has said “choose this day whom you will serve” (Josh. 24:14-15). Second; those who espouse this idea put forth no scripture showing the concept of inalienable rights as being unbiblical. Third; the very scripture they put forth refutes their own argument. Rightly they say they show us our God given duties and responsibilities, but it is in these very scriptures that we are granted our inalienable rights,

Additionally if we come together to pool our resources in order to fulfill our obligations such as to provide safety and protection through our local police, militia, and neighborhood watch. If these were to became so proficent as to lower the crime rate to Mayberry standards. Then gun fatalities are primarily accidental shootings the question will be asked why are we allowing such deaths, it is irresponsible to have private gun ownership. At this point what argument do you have, since your duties and responsibilities have and are being fulfilled? None. But thankfully God did not set things up this way, for all institutions whether government, public or private, are made with men’s imperfect minds and hands. Thus they will succumb to corruption and the use of tyranny, no matter how much scriptures they codify into their laws. The only safe guard for society, for our liberty, prosperity, and welfare, is that citizen practice their inalienable rights in fulfillment of their God given duties and responsibilities in accordance with their convictions of faith in Jesus Christ and nothing else save for God above.

“Rights” as in such as those recognized and guaranteed in the Bill of Rights are real and Biblical in our horizontal relationship with men. These are God given, inalienable rights granted by the duties and responsibilities God has given us in Scripture. Some examples are Gen. 1:26 were we are given dominion over the earth and all that is in it and “But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” (1st Tim. 5:8). Providing means such things as security, food, shelter, etc, so from these passages we see our right to self defense and to bear arms, property rights and security of property etc. Everyone of our true rights can be found in Scripture like this.

Before God, in our vertical relationship what we call “rights” are necessary parts of duties and responsibilities He has given us. Yet before Him, we do have rights, but a different type of rights. As sons of the living God and “co-heirs with Christ” (Rom. 8:17) we have the right to pension Him in prayer (John 14:14). We have all the covenants, birthrights, and promises we can claim as ours with the rights and privileges they include. We also have the right to lose and bind as found in:

“Truly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.

“Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven.” Matt. 18:18-19

Yes, God reserves His right as Sovereign over all, but He still grants us these rights as Christians and as applicable, as immortal beings “created in His image”. So it is incorrect to say we do not have rights. We truly do, have rights as I have shown above and as our Founding Fathers intended. I do not indorse the current state of our nation, but the foundation of this country was true.

I was a tomboy & played w/ guns. There were no girls in the neighborhood. I was taught to shoot a real gun when I was 8. Now I am a senior citizen that hasn’t killed anyone, have not robbed a bank or killed any person. But please try to avoid my home if you plan to rob, kill, or whatever. I do not want to make that person my 1st kill. Do not whine to me if you get robbed or whatever because you have no gun. I go to church & my pastor had better not tell me he is going to buy back toy guns, otherwise…..new pastor that loves the 2nd Amendment. You liberals believe that the bad guys won’t kill or rob if there is a gun ban…..Lord, have mercy when the bad guys show up at your home. The LORD helps them who help themselves. I have a license to carry & I do. Have been practicing w/ that weapon all my life and hit what I aim at. If you are the bad guy….GOD help you.

Stupid is as stupid does, Jesus told His apostles to sell their coat and buy a sword, I don’t think Jesus is for gun control or really people control. This pastor has been in Washington to long.

  • coastx

Just close the damned church. End of problem. If the congregation is this damned stupid, they’re probably too stupid to hold employment in the local community as well. Get the picture?

  • coastx

Baptists are a part of the repatriation movement anyway, same as the Mormons. It’s a liberal institution.

  • The Scotsman

WOW!! Unreal action by this Pastor. He can do what he wants in his own house, but leave the rest of us alone. When I was a child, I had toy handguns, toy rifles and even a toy machinegun! I never had any thoughts or plans to become a criminal, I served our country during the Korean War and spent 35+ years serving thr people of California as a Firefighter. My childrren have had toy guns. None are criminals!

  • ray2

Will he also take the bar of soap that is carved to be a gun? What a empty ‘pastor’!

  • Old Retired Copper

I grew up in a house where there were guns present. My father was a WWII veteran and an avid hunter. He taught us to respect guns and taught us the safe handling and use of them. I had my first BB gun at 7 years old and my first “real” gun at 10. I have carried a gun most of my adult life, first as a Law Enforcement Officer and now as a retired officer and private citizen. In all those years none of my guns have ever been used against another human being and I pray they never will. But I don’t overlook the fact that there are evil people in this world who may wish to do harm to me or mine and I will not give up my means to protect them. At this point in my life I am teaching my grandchildren the same lessons I learned as a youngster and I hope they will pass it on to their children, too. Gun buy backs and gun bans have never done anything to decrease violent crime. Guns are not the problem…evil violent people are the problem. Until this country solves the problem of broken families, drugs and alcohol, gang bangers and drug dealers, the violence will continue. Put the blame where it belongs: with the actor, not the tool..

  • http://twitter.com/gunslingr45 Doc

Does he not know that when guns are gone, so are all other rights such as freedom of religion? Dumb ass more than a wuss.

  • Jerry Wood

After we get all the toys rounded up, we can gather all the sticks laying around out there(could be used as toy guns) and cut down any tree that happens to drop a branch making it accessible to children.

  • dcartmill

At first I thought WOW It is
about time someone did a huge satire production ,to show how incredibly stupid
school administrations and staff are getting ,with their zero tolerance (absence
of an iota of common sense approach )…i.e. “boy points finger at play
mate and says bang”…3 days suspension; Same with a toy nurf
gun…suspension for even having it at school. Politically Correct NO… Let us
call it what is… BS ,and our school administrators not doing their job (
teaching ,leading by example, exercising commonsense ) MAYBE I AM WRONG , but
until you can show me statistics that support the hazards, the fatalities
attributed to the finger point gun and accompanying “bang”, then I
must stand on my previous statement; how incredibly stupid school
administrations and staff are, with their zero tolerance policies.

Jesus wants us to be armed, and we should also be proficient with them – this boys parents need to teach him to shoot with both eyes open.

    13 Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;
    14 Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked;

    16 To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;
17 Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.
18 For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead.

And just when we thought we have heard everything…Up pops this pastor with another looney tune idea with which to get guns out of the hands of criminals!

I wonder if he has banned the Bible from his house as well.

    From 1994—
When sentimentalists concede that they yearn for a world in which judgment is the consequence to be delayed until the final judgment, what they are really saying then is that they are willing to sustain all of the evil results of the vile individuals. This would necessarily accompany a desire for God to delay His judgment because of the sentimentalists’ queasiness over God’s judging wicked people. In other words, they prefer homosexuality, dismembered infants, and child molestation to God’s judging homosexuals, abortionists, and child molesters.

I say it’s a misplaced campaign, but I can see what he’s getting at. I wouldn’t go so far as to call him an idiot or a “wuss,” but to each their own I guess.

Is this a “Christian” opinion, or is this just you. Not sure Jesus is onboard with the “wuss” (aka “Raca” Matthew 5:22). Maybe that’s just me.

Better buy back those high dollar kill or be killed video games too. They certainly dont promote good behavior now do they?

  • rebart

How about a youth pastor to teach these kids right from wrong, or is that too wild a concept? How about parents not letting kids watch violent movies or play violent video games, or is that too wild a concept? How about the pastor preaching the Gospel and staying out of politics, especially left-wing politics, or is that too wild a concept?

  • http://twitter.com/ORTOOSSI Jeffrey Ross

The pastor, and his reactive nature, could be a case of over-protectiveness that, none-the-less, means well. That is, until his tail wagged with the current politics of power being wielded at this time, so, if he is innocently being wagged, so be it.This smells more like a whole dog we will be cleaning up after.
