Think back with me, over the past 5 or so years, to when the conservative underground movement began to emerge in this country. Following Rick Santelli’s epic rant, visualizing the proverbial “Tea Parties” which would arise unless something was done to reign in the Obama Administration’s naked power lust, a groundswell began in America which confounded progressives on both sides of the aisle. The burgeoning movement helped fuel the rise of alternative media outlets and the conservative blogosphere began to resemble the talk radio industry, where conservative thought rules the roost.
New leaders were emerging to advance the cause. Names like Lt. Col. Allen West, Michelle Bachmann, Mike Lee, Sharon Angle, Nikki Haley, Star Parker, Rand Paul, and Dana Loesch stepped into the spotlight and began to articulate what we had been feeling and saying for years. Sarah Palin continued to lob Stinger missiles at the Left from her Facebook page. And bloggers like Andrew Breitbart, Jim Hoft, Michelle Malkin, Pamela Gellar, Glenn Reynolds, and others began breaking stories which had the “lame-stream” media scrambling to figure out how they got scooped and why the Soma they were mainlining into our airwaves wasn’t working effectively enough.
But somewhere along the way, the men pulled up short while our strong, conservative sisters continued to advance the cause. With the exception of a select few male conservatives (Darrell Issa, Rand Paul, Lt. Col. Allen West, Mark Levin, Scott Walker, and of course the late, great Andrew Breitbart) the rest of the men have folded faster than an Italian soccer star in boot camp.
Look no further than the group of sad-sack “conservatives” which we cobbled together during the last Presidential race. Aside from The Donald, none of them would slug it out with the media or the Obama campaign. Even Herman Cain, a steadfast conservative, bowed under pressure and waved the white flag.
What is wrong with the majority of male conservatives who live in the public eye of America?? Yes, it is a blessing to have so many Mama Grizzlies defending the wall. And it is shameful that they are doing so by themselves. For every one Allen West or Ted Nugent, we have a score of McCains, Grahams, O’Reillys, Scarboroughs, Tebows, and Schwarzeneggers.
The diagnosis we’ve heard is that America just isn’t very conservative anymore, that the failure of Romney/Ryan and others is due to the fact that voters want more progressive candidates. It’s actually just the opposite. Voters are no longer willing to put up with RINOs. We are tired of candidates who pay lip service to conservative principles and then Etch-a-Sketch their way into a plush office to continue the status quo. Give me one Allen West for ten Chris Christies. Yes, the man only served one term but he used that term to the utmost, doing his best to shake things up and fight for steadfast conservative principles, as opposed to Christie who used his overnight celebrity to play footsie with the Obamas.
Although it was ultimately an anarchist’s hollow, nihilistic fairy tale, “Fight Club” was right about one thing. Physical confrontation and combat is not always a bad thing. In fact, sometimes it can serve to break men free from the hedonist torpor in which they are slumbering. One of the best scenes in the book/film was when Tyler Durden instructed his club to pick a fight with someone over the next week. We laughed about the pitiful demonstrations of how far the average man will go to avoid a physical confrontation, but the depiction was spot-on. We’re seeing the same Beta-Male behavior in Washington and elsewhere today when so-called “conservatives” are losing battles despite having the superior argument.
“McCain, Tebow, Graham, et al: Thank you for coming. A few items of business first. We need to embrace the fact that we are men. And as such, we are supposed to be combatitive enough to go to the mat for things which matter. We will not back down and we will not apologize for being right. And we certainly will not tuck our tails between our legs because they start printing nasty stories about us. Fire the “pollster” or “publicity agent” you hired to gauge which way the political winds are blowing. Dust off your KJV and you now have a much more accurate navigation system for your career and your life. This week, I want you to get into a fight with someone. It won’t be hard, just take a stand and wait. I want you to unapologetically win that fight. And if tonight is your first night here . . . you have to fight.”
We need to have the intestinal fortitude of the Gipper when he said after bombing Libya, “Today we did what we had to do. They counted on America to be passive. They counted wrong.” The Left counts on American males to be passive. Will they continue to be right?

"Doug Giles and his team over at ClashDaily.com cut through the crap to expose what have become modern day human slaughter houses: gun free zones. Their candid arguments about allowing teachers to protect themselves and the students in their care through concealed carry should be taken seriously. As a result maybe, just maybe, we’ll be able to save some lives someday rather than call the cops to report the body count." - Katie Pavlich. "There were many lessons to draw from the horrific Newtown, CT school shooting. Unfortunately, most of the media and political Left came up with the wrong ones. But not Doug Giles and his writers over at ClashDaily.com. In the wake of this horror, they offered a robust defense of American citizens' right to bear arms and common sense answers to societal violence. The Sandy Hook Massacre: When Seconds Count, the Police are Minutes Away is a great resource for those interested in this vital, Constitutional issue." - S.E.
