I certainly can’t tell the difference. They believe they should be telling everyone how to live, and won’t even make arguments to support their cases- their egos being sufficient reason. They lie and manipulate – making emotional appears the primary way to push gun control or any other item on their agenda. They don’t care about the inalienable rights of individuals, demonstrating a complete lack of empathy. They have no remorse nor shame about what they do- electing and re-electing men who womanize, murder, or even belong to the KKK. The only standards they have are double-standards. They behave irresponsibility and expect others to pay the consequences and pay to clean up heir messes- think they are entitled to have others provide for their needs, and have no shame when they extract that at government gun point. And even though the economy is on the brink of collapse, and the national debt is about to destroy the dollar- they are eerily calm.. .

    #1. Having an oversized ego.

What is ego? If being a proud American is ego then I’m ego.

#2. Lying and exhibiting manipulative behavior.

Conservatives don’t lie. We tell the brutal TRUTH!

#3. Exhibiting a lack of empathy.

I feel bad for blacks. I just don’t trust ‘em.

#4. Showing a lack of remorse or shame.

If profiling makes me racist, then I’m racist. No shame in that.

#5. Staying eerily calm in scary or dangerous situations.

Smith and Wesson backed by God will give you that confident edge.

#6. Behaving irresponsibly or with extreme impulsivity.

    Guess I’m not a psycho! Let’s see a liberal take that test…

    • Lever Gun will Travel

Won’t matter if they do…see Red Flag #2. They would lie to pass the test because RF #1 won’t allow them to fail. Since this was a cross post from PuffHo I bet they’re all over there congratulating themselves on how non-sociopath they are. Telling the big lies to themselves and all believing every bit of it.

Agreed. The least useful of the indicators as there are many professions (and hobbies) which strive to train the panic reflex out of you. (Pilots, first responders, SCUBA divers, skydivers etc.) A lot of effort goes into drilling a methodical approach to respond to emergency’s in order to survive.

Having a close relative, who is a sociopath, I can state with a certain amount of expertise that these flags are accurate. Obama and most of the elite liberals are indeed sociopaths, but your everyday, run of the mill, next door neighbor liberals are generally speaking, nothing but dupes. The liberal elites lie. The dupes believe the lies. Liberalism is nothing more than a con.

I see that this article claims that 1-in-25 are ‘sociopaths’. The distaff says she’s seen reports that indicate the ratio is 1-in-5.

After 60+ years on this ball-o-dirt and dealing with the internet since the early-80s….I tend to think the distaff has a better handle on the ‘problem’.

      Why?

Because that ratio goes far in explaining the Progressive-Liberal Democrats than anything else offered.

Red Flag #5 is, …. nonsense. It basically says that every Marine (i.e., me), firefighter (me, too) & anyone else who keeps his or her cool in a crisis is a “sociopath.” If everyone melted to jelly when the wolf shows up, we’d all be living in hovels & the wolves would rule. I have been in car accidents with my wife & children aboard. The LAST thing they needed was Daddy getting all “anxious” afterwards. Besides, the danger is past & it is just not rational get anxious when there is no danger.

M.E. Thomas is just excusifying for his own failure to have adult control over his emotions

They didn’t say how many of the ‘red flags’ are required to qualify as a sociopaths, but if I ever met anyone with NONE of the characteristics listed, I would consider them WORSE that the average sociopath.

    • Chuck Pelto

Good point, that: how many ‘red flags’ qualify one as a sociopath.

It’s probably a graduated scale. The more ‘red flags’, the more a threat you are to society. One ‘red flag’ makes you a ‘sociopath’, albeit a low-grade one.

I suspect that everyone has at least ONE, which means full-time employment for psychologists and psychiatrists. [NOTE: Ain't that just 'spiffy'?]

And, as you suspect, those that have NO ‘red flags’ are ‘sheeple’.

      P.S. In self-evaluation, I suspect I’m a mid-grade sociopath:

      • Being a professional Army infantry officer (mustang), Airborne, Jumpmaster and Ranger I don’t tend to melt into a quivering mass of protoplasm when things get ‘weird’ or dangerous.
      • I have little ‘empathy’ for those who are enemies of the Constitution of the United States.
      • I will behave ‘impulsively’, i.e., with appropriate deadly force, if I see someone about to kill another human being, e.g., Holmes at the Aurora Theater or Lanza at Sandy Hook or Klebold & Harris at Columbine [NOTE: A couple miles from my church in Littleton. We suffered casualties.]

      Count me in!

You have to remember that these are simple red flags, not a diagnosis list. Having been married to a sociopath who permanently injured me, it appeared he hid that side of himself for 2 1/2 years letting some of that be seen after we married and then the rest came out after 2 years being married… However, it was all there from the start and I didnt see it. #1: any temper that seems out of place, as in getting overly loud or mean to something small/insignificant; #2: everything is about that person, where you go, how often you see one another, what you do… which is very dangerous for newly divorced stay at home moms who (like me) are caregivers and dont necessarily see this as unnatural. There has to be a balance of give and take, and with a true narc… there is not, and at first it can feel like this is a take charge man who is arranging things for us to do… . The “best” part is that they can convince you so easily why what they want is better for you, even if it isn’t. #3: super sized sex life, hours of seduction, candles, romantic music and dancing at home. Its called love bombing, and it gets you chemically addicted to the person… oxytocin. At some point this love bombing ends, and you begin to crave for him and he wont give it every time making you want it more, try harder to “please” him… he essentially gets you addicted to him (or her in the case of women). #4: if you are finding that you are longing for “that person you fell in love with” to come back,” wondering where did that person go. A regular person wont generally change that dramatically causing you to wonder how to “get back” that awesome person. It was a show designed to get you hooked so you can then be manipulated at will…. you lose yourself as you constantly search for what was. #5: you apologize for things he has done… its a trick and I dont know how to fully explain this one… if you start saying wait, why did I apologize when he did something wrong… big red flag and you are probably under the spell already. Its just such a sick and twisted existence, I am so glad to have gotten away, even if Im injured. Re learning normal life is difficult but so wonderful :-)
