Outrage! Clyburn Plus Soros Plus the FCC: Killing the First Amendment

As news about the FCC’s power-grab continues to unfold, Mignon Clyburn’s role assumed dominance in the regime’s latest incursion into unconstitutional waters. She shares the limelight with would-be, evil Star Wars emperor, George Soros.

Mignon is the daughter of Jim Clyburn, 20-year Democrat Congressional lifer. Former Leader of the Congressional Black Caucus, Congressman Clyburn has voted for the Imperial President’s every wish. Clyburn has repeatedly referred to “reforming healthcare” as the “civil rights issue of our time.” The ideological apple didn’t fall far from the racist tree.

It is no surprise then that Mignon Clyburn was appointed to the FCC by The Lyin’ King in 2009 then reappointed in 2012. Make no mistake, she is his “point man” cherishing his will and running with it. Clyburn sees her purpose at the FCC in a doctrinaire light. Breitbart quoted her, Friday: “… [the FCC] must emphatically insist that we leave no American behind when it comes to meeting the needs of those in varied and vibrant communities of our nation – be they native born, immigrant, disabled, non-English speaking, low-income, or other.” The problem with Clyburn’s self-righteous declaration isn’t simply that her beliefs presume bigotry and “inequality,” which they do. It is that none of what she intends to implement is within the FCC’s jurisdiction.

Ms. Clyburn instigated the FCC CIN “study,” covering eight topics: emergencies and risks, health and welfare, the environment, education, transportation, economic opportunities, civic information, and political information. Who came up with the issues? Two schools of journalism, in uber-liberal universities, were assigned the pharisaic responsibility of shackling… journalism. In a move reminiscent of George Orwell’s “1984”, they developed the blueprint that would set the government trampling ground the Constitution prohibits. According to the Washington Examiner, “The University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism and the University of Wisconsin-Madison Center for Communication and Democracy, were tasked by the FCC with coming up with criteria for what information is ‘critical’ for Americans to have.”

Who might be the Nazis behind Ms. Clyburn’s inquisition? Someone with experience; it wouldn’t be far-fetched to guess that George Soros’ subversive fingers were all over Clyburn’s cow pie. CNS News confirms it: “…the schools involved have strong ties to liberal billionaire George Soros’ Open Society Foundations and have gotten more than $1.8 million from him since 2000. The journalism programs at these schools have even more ties to Soros besides their funding, including faculty members writing for university-based publications allied with Soros-funded outlets.”

There are so many violations surrounding the FCC CIN study one hardly knows where to begin. First and foremost, the FCC intends to intrude where the Constitution specifically forbids it to go: Newsrooms. This is not a matter of interpretation; it is spelled out in the First Amendment of the Constitution: “Congress shall make no law… abridging the freedom of speech or of the press…” In short, obvious Constitutional violation.

Secondly, the Stasi-like implementation of Clyburn’s program was unknown to the rest of the FCC. Breitbart quoted FCC Commissioner, Ajit Pai: “This has never been put to an FCC vote; it was just announced. I’ve never had any input into the process.” This was entirely Ms. Clyburn’s baby. Third, in whose judgment is it that minority “needs” are not being met by the media in America? What is, at best, racial altruism on the outside stinks of “right-think” media control on the inside.

The FCC posts an outline of the CIN social engineering project, already in place in SC, online at: http://transition.fcc.gov/bureaus/ocbo/FCC_Final_Research_Design_6_markets.pdf
FCC societal tinkering is chilling enough. But the interrogation newsrooms can expect has very little to do with that, directly. Ajit Pai gives examples in the Wall Street Journal: “(CIN) plans to ask station managers, news directors, journalists, television anchors and on-air reporters to tell the government about their “news philosophy… The FCC also wants to wade into office politics…” Clyburn has, in reality, launched a work-around to the defunct Fairness Doctrine. And it is even more beneficial to the regime. Such questioning is intended to muzzle any media or news outlet that presents opinions contrary to those sanctioned by Our Dear Leader or dares to disseminate news he doesn’t see as fit for consumption. Mignon’s intent is not to “level the playing field”; the intent is to transform it.

Clyburn’s study began, as a pilot program, in 2012 yet no alarms were raised by the left. Even Ajit Pai’s recent editorial in the WSJ went unremarked except for those in the Conservative media. If government intrusion is so abhorrent to the press, why no outrage in all that time? Because the MSM has been state-run media all along. The FCC isn’t concerned about the likes of MSNBC; what it intends is to hound outlets like FOX News into oblivion if it can. And now the FCC has signaled their intent to pursue opinion internet outlets, as well. Sites like this.

FOX News said on Friday that the FCC was “was putting on hold a controversial study of American newsrooms, after complaints from Republican lawmakers and media groups that the project was too intrusive.” The language is significant. “Putting on hold” is not the same as “Eliminating.” Neither excuses Clyburn’s actions.

As long as The Lyin’ King’s Mignons are authorized to exceed Constitutional limits, as long as clandestine fiddling with America’s foundations by Soros, Dr. Evil (without the humor), is licensed by government, temporary retreat from unconstitutional acts against Americans remains a mere hiccup in statists’ plans.
