We all know one of those churches, don’t let it be where you call home.

Ridiculous statement from a self-serving macho freak. Jesus is ashamed of you Doug Giles. I fear for your soul.

    • darkcyder

Sorry- I have to agree with Doug. We sit in churches that are afraid to call sin what it is. they back off on saying anything about PHENOMENAL examples of bad simply because they are scared of reprisal by government goons. Churches were instrumental in the forming of the American revolution, and today they are pansies. Some examples: Churches were silent about Bill Clinton and his antics. My church at the time used the excuse that they couldn’t talk about “politics” when his antics had nothing to do with politics. As a result, a whole generation of children believe that oral sex is OK. I sit in a church now that is afraid to talk about homosexuality. While the Homos are taking over our country, our churches remain silent for fear of alienating potential contributors to their coffers. Similar for Islamism and what it is doing to our country. Similar for abortion. Crickets on all of those issues, when they are preparing to take our country down.
So, no- Doug is not wrong, he has hit the nail on the head. Our churches need to get gutsy, and need to start being smart about those things that are affecting our society. Wake up America.

    • Straightshooter

I too agree w/Doug! Rhonda You are part of the problem!! You need to READ the BIBLE! How about Psalms 144:1 All the things going on right now w/this current dictatorship is against Biblical principles & it’s Daily in Your Face self serving DemoRats & RINOS that’s taking this country down slowly one piece at a time. Ever heard of the frog in the pot? I too am Glad to have a Pastor & Church members who believe in the Constitution. He is not afraid to speak out from the Pulpit on politics, homosexuality,The Constitution, gun rights,Voting,Amnesty(none whatsoever),Prepping, islam & jihad,(are You afraid to die for JESUS? We’re not)Global warming,Free condoms,Pro Life,Creationism,Sin & GOD’S love for sinners,Forgiveness,Redemption & Salvation,& Our GOD Given rights! I doubt I will see You where we’re going if You don’t change Your Liberal,Feministic, hate mongering Ways. Like I said You need to Read Your Bible if You have one.

      • darkcyder

Wow- I wish I could go to your church. Do you have a webcast? I have given up on churches in the Austin, TX area. Starting to try to do it from my home instead.

        • Straightshooter

You would have to move from the most LIBERAL Town in Texas,to a suburb of Dallas,Tx. No webcast & our Church was started from a home Church. Our Pastor knows of those who have CHL’s & welcomes it & it’s not just Men who carry. He has one Himself. Be careful who You watch on TV,as most are there for the $$ Stanley,Jeffries,& Jeremiah are TRULY Biblical & Stand firm in the Word. I will Pray that GOD Instructs You as the direction to take. It is an abomination of the daily Depravity seen on TV these days, even condoms ads. I’m no prude but this garbage doesn’t need to be seen by Children let alone mixed company. Our pastor was led By God to leave a large Church & start a mission Church after many yrs of pastoring larger Churches. He has his Doctorates Degree & also does counseling & works full time operating a Landscape business His son started, but continues to be abreast of everyday happenings & available to His Congregation, & Church property upkeep. We have 7 acres to mow & we do a community garden & give veggies away. We are Blessed to have Him as our pastor & He & I have become Good Friends. I’m at His disposal accordingly. He is Biblical in every way & backs Scripture w/Scripture & Bold w/The Word. A GODLY Man!

    • chamuiel

you just don’t understand, do you?

    • vincent

Look in the mirror and get rid of the 2×4! You were brainwashed in one of the major denominations, perhaps? That 501c3 status is important to the metrosexuals and hipster wannabes in the pulpit. But whatever pathetic congregation you choose to cavort with, I can only say: ENJOY YOUR SERVITUDE!

      • George Fleisher

Amen, Listen to John Hage last night and an interesting comment he made. Denominations don’t go to Heaven, Churches don’t go to Heaven, people go to Heaven. He probably was giving a message to at least 3000 in the congregation, at least he was honest about it. God or Jesus did not create Christian Denominations, nor is there any message about corporate worship services, nor is there any specific statement about monetary tithes in the Christian Bible. Jesus asked His disciples to tell the Good News about Salvation.

        • RJR Fan

Isn’t John Hagee the dude who preaches a back door into heaven for certain folks whose whole religion is predicated upon denying that Jesus Christ came in the flesh?

          • George Fleisher

I’m sorry I really don’t know him that well, however the times I listen to him he sounds down to earth and straightforward. I will try to make more time to listen or investigate his message.

          • RJR Fan

John Haggee is having his own Harold Camping moment.

        • MatrixHater

Agree with you George. We meet God in the inner man- in the heart “Behold I stand at the door and knock”. A lot of people think there is salvation in Church attendance. I once heard a pastor say ” If you can’t make it to Church, you can’t make it into Heaven”, putting Church attendance on the level of receiving the finished work of Christ. I have had far more deep spiritual revelations myself than any Church could attempt to manufacture- like contemplating an all-powerful, fearsome God who created the awesome power of the Sun, while at the same time having a tender side that created the bee that goes from flower to flower harvesting pollen.

          • George Fleisher

I have given up on the main stream “Church” I have belonged to the United Methodist since I was 12 (58years) and just realized I have been conditioned in that membership. I request my name be removed from the “rolls” and have continued my research and understanding of the scriptures through reading the Bible and supporting information, It’s amazing how much a person can be mislead if they follow blindly to what the indoctrinated ministers tell you.

    • Ron Gilbert

And what type of stand to you make for Christ?

      • 19gundog43

Don’t feed the trolls. They are nothing but mutts, You can never get rid of them once you respond to them.

    • JoJo Monkeyboy

Then why are you reading anything on this website? Go to another one than has a feel good message and let the grown ups tend to the real business!

  • darkcyder

Thanks, Doug- you are right. Churches were instrumental in forming the backbone of our revolution and today they are pansies. They fear that some government goon will come and take away their tax-free status if they truly speak out against the CRAP that is going on in our country. All these things are good examples of BAD behavior, and the churches are hollow tubes of soundlessness on them. I have personally given up on most of them, and find it much more valuable to worship my God at home. I do watch a web-based service, but like the news I find myself hollering at the screen. Where did we go wrong? There are several great examples that I feel our churches are missing a great opportunity to tell our children, and point out bad behavior.
    - Homosexuality- they fear losing members, and treat it just like any other sin.
    - Sexual promiscuity (homosexuality is just one form)- heck,, the girls who stand up to speak/sing are dressed like hookers
    - Islamism that is trying to undermine Christian culture
    - Government excess- render unto Caesar ONLY that which is his
    - Class warfare and the politics of jealousy
    - Illegal immigration and the rule of law
    - Global warming lies and truths
    - Darwinism versus intelligent design
    - Drugs and their effect on our children (I’m talking legal ones like Ritalin)
I could go on- these are all current hot topics in our culture, and by and large the church is crickets on them. Instead, they want to tell me the interpretation of the sermon on the mount for the hundredth time, or tell me about the 40 days of making myself a better person. Or just loving one another and all will be better. This is a church culture that fails to recognize(as does most of America) that there is EVIL on the loose in the world, and we need to arm ourselves with the shield of the Lord to protect ourselves against it. And YES- that means talking about it in our churches! Dang it.
OK- I’m done, and I fell better. Thanks Doug, for letting me get that off my chest.

    • Croco Dile

It looks like you are recognizing yourself there is no way religion can help you to solve for you those “hot topics” that are of “this world”.

      • darkcyder

Religion cannot, but God and the Bible can. My point is that the reason for church should be to help to explain how the Bible and its teachings apply to everyday life, and instead, today’s preachers are by and large pansies who are afraid of taking on the topics that face their congregation. They fear that if they do so:
        - the government might take away their tax exempt status
        - politically correct audiences will boycott, thus impacting their income
        - they will have to answer hard questions, and defend unpopular stances
        - they will get out of their comfort zone
God did not say the path was easy. In fact, He says that if you follow His ways people will hate you for it.

thus Doug’s statement- check your balls at the front door. The preachers already did it, and I guess the rest of us are expected to do the same. I cannot tell you the number of times I have been tempted to HOLLER from the back row. Just like I do to the TV at home.

        • fedup

Thank God for people like you out there. A few sundays ago, I did just that. Just a righteous indignation rose up within me and went on a righteous rant, almost the same message you posted. There were more than few amen’s. The people are fed up and want the God of Israel, not the one we conjour up like a genie in a bottle. Maybe a pink slip is on the way. Dont care. I believe God’s cup of wrath is at the brink of tipping. Maybe if we in the church speak up, a revival will begin in earnest.

          • darkcyder

Are you a pastor? My brother was a pastor- it shocked me the beyond human expectations placed on him and his life by the members- especially the women- in his church. quite an education to watch. He felt penned in by their expectations and their demand for political correctness, but he still delivered it from the pulpit when things were going down. I guess that’s why he eventually left. Too much truth in a world that expects broad platitudes, and pastel colors.

          • fedup

Greeting’s, thank’s for asking. No, I’m just a sunday school teacher sowing seed’s. Nation of Pastor’s will rise against Nation of laymen as they call us. Civil war is here between those who Fear God and those who act like God. Matthew 24:7. Pray for your brother, sound’s like he’s waging a good battle in the spirit realm.

  • Evan White

Not my church. My church is good and teaches truth. Perhaps that is why we ( our church ) is getting the average of 120 annendants

  • Evan White

Look, lunch/recess break is over in 10 minutes gotta go

  • Audrey Russo

    Ditto…lol

  • bobmead1960

Perfectly said! Writing a book about this very thing. 90% of all churches in America are dying! FACT! And most if not all are just a social club. When have heard the word revival, sin, fasting, praying or required personal witnessing? God is ashamed that we do not Preach (declare truth) the whole counsel of God. Wake up America. We need REVIVALUTION!

    • victorbarney

They(churches, and all the Sunday keepers for sure) also represent the predicted “false messiah,” and most of us will find that out too late on the first time around…

      • bobmead1960

Victor, my book deals with the messiah issue. It proves whether all five major faiths are wrong or one is right! It doesn’t matter what day one worships Colossians 2:16

        • George Fleisher

I think if you read it and understand the Sabbath Day (Saturday) was instituted from the creation week. God Sanctified the Seventh Day from the beginning, Jesus did not change the day, he upheld it. The Council of Laodicea ruled that .Christians must not judaize by resting on the Sabbath, but must work on that day, rather honouring the Lord’s Day; and, if they can, resting then as Christians. But if any shall be found to be judaizers, let them be anathema from Christ. This is very straight forward and proves that It is God’s Command to rest on the Sabbath Day (Saturday) Jesus stated He is Lord of the Sabbath, and that the Sabbath Day was made for man, not man for the Sabbath Day.

          • bobmead1960

You did a nice job glossing over my statement. What about Colossians 2:16 and Paul stated by and through God that it didn’t matter what day you worshipped. Jesus eating corn on the Sabbath. He said the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath = any day of the week is good to rest. The Sabbath is just an example of a day you could choose. Who is this ‘false Messiah?’ Never heard of him?? Please enlighten

          • George Fleisher

Colossians 2:16 Sabbath days Greek sabbata a plural form of sabbaton or it could be a transliteration of the Aramaic sabbata which is singular. The conclusion here does not depend on the word being singular or plural. In general, the word sabbath applies ether to the weekly day of rest or to a feast day sabbath. Here it cannot be the day of rest because in the next verse it is a “shadow” or a feast-day symbol pointing to the cross. Remembering that there was no punctuation on the Greek manuscripts, we have “the sabbath days which are a shadow….”
Shadow of things to come How could they be a shadow of things to come when Christ had already been sacrificed? Paul may have been thinking of pagan practices that were apparently popular he could have been taking the viewpoint of the time of the OT when the ceremonies were clarified and practiced. The advice is to not listen to those who promote the Jewish ceremonies and what had been added to them. Involved are practices of specific times for fasting, resting from work, other “holy” days and times of the new moon. We have to remember that Paul didn’t know he was writing for you and me. Conclusions we draw must be constrained by the limit of the information in the text. Counsel from Paul and others would not have justified seeing these two verses as license to consider whatever day we wish as holy or to eat anything we please.

          • bobmead1960

What conclusion have you drawn? You state there are those that hold to the ‘false Messiah’ and never answered what that was? You need to be clearer. Are you 7th day Adventist in your belief structure? Good day. tks for the book

          • George Fleisher

No, I’m not 7th day Adventist, just a guy who has researched the Bible, and have strong feelings to follow what God has sanctified.

          • bobmead1960

YOU didn’t tell me your point to Saturday and the Sabbath. What do you suggest? You didn’t say about the “false Messiah” HOw about an answer???

          • http://www.12bp.org Dan Heaberlin

Isn’t it funny that the people that Christ had the most trouble with were also legalists?

          • Ron Gilbert

A legalist is a person that lives by the Mose Law in order to gain salvation. It is not someone that studies the Bible and lives by it for the purpose of honoring God.

          • George Fleisher

I’m going to have to review this, checking on the “false Messiah” deal. Is this subject from the 7th Day Adventist? And I’m seeing a post from Dan Heaberlin about legalists, I don’t subscribe to the legalist theory, only believe that God intended that the day he Sanctified was to be followed, and also the day should be a day of joy and service to our fellow man.

    • RJR Fan

Sounds like a book I’d like to read. You are familiar, I assume, with the work of Leon Podles?

      • bobmead1960

Sorry, I don’t know Leon Podles. Enlighten me please.

    • DieHardPatriot

That’s why we were given Obama and his ilk…!

  • Cougar Smith

CAREFUL DOUG!!!! (or we’ll draft you to run for president!)

  • David McElroy

    AMEN, Doug!

  • victorbarney

Doug, that’s just about every single one of them, all Sunday keeping ones for sure! No? Stay-tuned because this is the right self-professed “Anti-Christ”(Marxist) of Revelation, chapter 11 put “under” u.s. this time by our reportedly “women alone”! No? WATCH…

  • Michael

Nope, not my church… My church do not sing those “Jesus is my boyfriend”songs.. We sing the manly Psalms of David- all of them and only those 150 songs that God gave to the church. We have deep expositional preaching, book by book verse by verse. We also enjoy the good and wonderful blessings of God, Wine, Ale and Tobacco. And we believe in Christ Kingship over the nations whereby all sphere’s of creation come under the absolute domination of Christ. And we believe in the God given right for self-defense and gun ownership as a positive duty of the sixth commandment. Covenanters all the way..

  • RharryR

My pastor once taught in a prison to inmates. One of them decided to take a nap during service. My pastor had the sound technician turn the volume up on the microphone she had, stepped down from the pulpit, got in that inmates face and shouted “Wake Up”. After the service, she was told the had body parts common to a man. They are large and metal. Point being made, you don’t come to service to take a nap to be awake for the afternoon ball games or a trip to the beach or whatever. You come to church wide awake with your brain ready to be taxed an learn. I would venture to say that there are more [MEN] in our congregation than probably any other congregation. It is a Bible based teaching ministry. You come ready to listen and receive the Word of GOD. An uncommon practice in most churches. Although there are a few others around doing this, most are man pleasers and not GOD pleasers. I got lucky, GOD led me to someone that teaches what HE wants HIS people to know. And, that’s right, I said [She]. She follows the principles laid down by her late husband to teach GODs Word aright.

    • Idadho

A woman as pastor makes as much sense as a fish with a bicycle. If she appears to have gonads, she has coopped them from the men. Women are to teach other woman under the Biblical leadership of a man. I’d sleep through her sermon, too.

      • RharryR

Yes, you’d probably sleep even through Christ’s teaching because your blinded by man’s traditions. If GOD can open the mouth of Balem’s ass and cause it to speak. HE can go around your traditions and have a woman to teach HIS Word. I don’t know about you, but I think a woman is a few levels higher than an ass. Most of which are in the form of these males that stand in the pulpits of these TV ministries. By the way, Balem’s ass was a female. GOD can have HIS Word taught through anyone HE chooses and if you don’t listen to HIS chosen pastor, whoever they may be, maybe you’re one of those HE doesn’t want. Or maybe, with a little luck, you’re one of those HE just hasn’t called yet to hear HIS Word taught HIS way. Think on it a little while. Consider also that if society at the time Christ walked the earth had not treated women as of very little importance, Christ might have been born a woman. Remember, one of GODs names is EL SHADI. One of the translations for that name is “The Breasted One”. A female expression of HIM. Research it and see for yourself.

        • Ron Gilbert

Having women not be pastors is not about God changing his mind. He was the one that set up the proper structure of leadership, not man. Consult with him on this matter. God never contradicts himself and he would never choose a woman to be a pastor over men. Again, it seems that you are imposing your own beliefs upon God.

          • RharryR

My problem is not with GOD. GOD is { All Powerful}, HE can do what HE wants, when HE wants too and the way HE wants to do it. Ours is not to question but to abide by or die. The choice is ours. My problem is with those that call themselves
Christian that have not only held on to the Old Covenant of the Old Testament but have twisted, distorted, viewed slightly out of focus and outright perverted HIS Word and especially the GOSPEL (GOOD NEWS). Which a woman was the first to tell to others. “He is risen.” Please read the following verses. I believe this to be the NEW COVENANT through Jesus Christ and the only thing that GOD is waiting for to bring it too
fruition is what I said above. HIS longsuffering and HIS freedom of choice that HE has given us is allowing us an
excessive amount of time for us to return to HIM according to the teaching of Jesus the Christ who gave new commandments (orders) for us to abide by and instructions on how thing will be if followed. Again, please read the following verses and keep in mind while you read them what GOD has said and what will happen when we let go of all our
traditions, including the ones of the Old Testament that many are still trying to live by that HE said HE will put in our inward parts and our hearts. That we should act in FAITH and not by works to receive HIS grace and peace and be with HIM and Jesus throughout eternity. Again, please read and think on this while you read.

          • Ron Gilbert

In all of what you just stated, not one single time did you ever acknowledge the fact that God himself set up the order of authority within our churches. Not one single time did you ever acknowledge the fact that God stated that women are not to teach the men of the church nor to take authority over them. It is you that is twisting God’s word to incorporate your own beliefs on what he says. God gave man authority over the woman. Just because some men have treated women poorly does not mean that God won’t hold them responsible for those actions. Just because women want to userp authority does not mean they won’t be held repsonsible for that. God would never be the one that calls a woman to be a pastor. That would be her own arrogance and disobedience to believe that she was called to be a pastor. Also, Christ did not come to abolish the Law, he came to fulfill it. The Old Testament is just as important as the New and as much a part of God’s whole world as the New. We were given a new covenant of GRACE in salvation but this never did away with the Law.

          • RharryR

Still reading GODs Word with [eyes wide shut] I see. Yes, Jesus fulfilled the law and it died with Him on the cross. I pray GOD opens you eyes and you see what HE’s really saying. Maybe someday you’ll awaken to the traditions you hold so dear and learn what GOD wants HIS people to know. By your own words, you are telling GOD what HE’s allowed to do and you won’t accept any other way. Tell Eli that GOD doesn’t change what HE says. GOD does what HE wants whether you like it or not.

          • Ron Gilbert

And maybe someday you will awaken to God’s word as he states it, not as you want him to say it.

          • RharryR

If you want to believe what GOD states, then why don’t you believe what HE stated in the last verses I quoted above. Why do you not believe that Jesus fulfilled every jot and tittle of the law and it passed away with Him on the cross. Why do you not believe that, as Paul put it, the law was a schoolmaster to teach man that no matter how much good he knew, he could not perform all the good and avoid doing bad. Why will you not accept that Jesus paid the price of the kinsman redeamer and set us free. Why do you prefer to stay in bondage to the law which will only condemn you because you can’t do all of it. Are you a Jew or a Christian? Do you follow Jesus or the law. Learn to follow Jesus if you want to be set free from the bondage of the world, the flesh and the devil and the law that can only condemn. The choice is yours. GOD gave you the right to choose. I choose GOD and Jesus my Lord and savior.

          • Ron Gilbert

That is exactly what I have been saying about the Law yet you fail to see that. You are taking what I have been saying as though we live by the Law. We live by grace, as I have already stated. The Law was not done away with, just the need for a sacrifice for breaking it. Christ stated that there remains no more need for sacrifice, not that there was no more need for the Law. Man still has to understand what right from wrong is and that is the purpose of the Law. Do you not understand that teaching? Jesus IS THE WORD, HE IS GOD, ERGO HE IS THE LAW! What part of that are you having difficulty with?

          • RharryR

What is your definition of “GRACE”?

      • Clarpy

I completely agree. That nonsense about “God can open the mouth of Balaam’s ass” and “Christ might have been born a woman” and “El Shaddai means ‘The Breated One’” is exactly that … nonsense. I preach and teach, and I’m male. Precisely the kind of guy that God’s Word speaks about.

        • RharryR

It sounds like you have need of being taught again instead of teaching. A little research will bare out what I said. That is if you really want to know what is said in the Bible instead of your traditions. As it is said, “By your traditions, you make void the Word of GOD.”

          • Idadho

1 Timothy 2:8-15 is not about traditions. It is about God’s law. Women have plenty of opportunities to be fruitful workers without needing to teach or have authority over men. The Bible says it. I believe it. Nothing can be said to change this Biblical fact.

          • RharryR

Col 3:22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:

The definition of [servants] from the original Greek is below.

            δοῦλος

            doulos

            doo’-los

From G1210; a slave (literally or figuratively,
involuntarily or voluntarily; frequently therefore in a qualified sense of subjection or subserviency): – bond (-man), servant.

Do you also believe that we should have human masters today too??

          • Idadho

If you are employed by someone, then you have a master. Col 3:22 does not command men to have slaves or servants. It tell the servants how to behave. Scripture also tells master to treat their servants properly.
You are not comparing the two verses correctly. They have no comparative value. I don’t need your Greek or Strongs to know the Biblical truth. You talk of societal practices. Christianity is the primary source of empowerment of women. Scripture talks of the value of women. Society would have left women as second class citizens. Women do not need to teach or be in authority over men to have eternal value.
I will no longer respond to your unbiblical claims. My time has more value and you refuse to accept the authority of Scripture.

          • Ron Gilbert

So now you equate your opinion of an “archaic practice” of not allowing women to be pastors and doing away with that as we have done away with slavery? God does not condone the practice of slavery, he allows it due to his knowing of mans hearts just as he does divorce. These actions are not without their consequences. I serve him willingly as he asks of us. Sounds to me like you have a problem with God and his people. Take that up with him and see what he says about it.

          • Ron Gilbert

This is not a matter of tradition. This is a matter of the proper structure of leadership within the church. God says that a bishop (pastor or leader in a church) is to be the husband of one wife. He states this more than once. Sounds to me like you are trying to tell God what to do.

      • darkcyder

Perhaps God should have left the book of Ruth out of the Bible? And Mary Magdalene should have been driven away from the foot of the cross??Where does the Bible state that preachers have to be male?

        • Idadho

          Read 1 Timothy 2:8-15.

          • darkcyder

And yet, many were taught by Ruth, and Mary Magdalene as well. So Paul is now God? Please show me one place where it is either stated in the laws of God, or by Jesus. Paul also tells timothy to have some wine for his stomach, and yet Christian churches everywhere preach against ANY alcohol being bad. I think you like the convenience of words taken out of context.

          • Ron Gilbert

God spoke his word to Paul and Paul wrote it down. It’s called inspiration. All of the Bible was written by Jesus. John 1 states that he is the word and he is God. As for alcohol, God says not to touch the wine when it moveth (fermented) but he also says that during certain times we can have it (to help us with despair and also when we have been injured unto death). The wine during the times of Christ was not what we see today. The amount of alcohol in the wine of that time was much less and you would have to drink alot of it to get drunk. Alcohol was used to cleans the water and wine was very deluted. It was more like grape juice.

          • darkcyder

hahahaha. You bought into that whole thing, eh? Please explain why God speaks of those drunk on wine (and that’s from drinking the sacramental wine). Explain why Jesus changed the “water into wine”, rather than just adding some wine to the water…Wine yesterday and today is the same. You just refuse to accept it.
I haven’t been a big fan of women pastors either, but when a good woman deigns to teach, and her words are from God- I will follow her the same way I followed all those women who taught me in grade school, and throughout my life. If women are not allowed to teach- why so many women in our schools? And before you start on the “it’s for the gospel only” diatribe, remember that these women used to be allowed to teach the bible in our schools- many taught me the same.
Oh, well you can’t fix stupid, I can see I’ve just been wasting my breath here. You can go on believing what you believe, but please just leave the rest of us alone.

          • Ron Gilbert

Sacrimental wine? Where is that in the Bible? That’s a Catholic practice not a Biblical one. As far as a woman teaching God’s word, I have no problem with that. I am being quite specific with having issue with a woman being a pastor. That is unscriptural.

          • Ann Wilson

            Titus 3:9
But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless.

          • Ron Gilbert

Ann, doctrine is not a foolish controversy. God tells us to preach his word, being instant in season, out of season. Reprove, rebuke, and exhort with all long suffering and DOCTRINE (2 Timothy). The aspect of women pastors is a matter of incorrect doctrine.

          • Ann Wilson

If you read the entire scripture, it says about the law. Ron when studying a topic research it. The Bible also says in Corinthians that a woman should wear her hair long. That is historically what was proper, modest at that time in history. So Is God concerned about our hair length or being appropriately, modestly dressed. Women like Joyce Meyer and Diane Hagee have reached thousands for the Lord. Are you saying they should have just kept quiet?

          • Ron Gilbert

And yet you argue with me even after telling me not to argue with someone else. Is Joyce Meyer a pastor? Is Diane Hagee a pastor? If so, then they are wrong. If not, then there is nothing wrong with them speaking for God. The pastor part of it is the issue. And I have studied this topic while studing for the pastorate, Ann, as well as studying further into it after that point. There is a continued display of revising what God says to support political correctness in our churches today. Time to get back to obeying God instead of being concerned with how we feel about matters.

        • Ron Gilbert

Neither Ruth nor Mary Magdalene were pastors. God specifically states that one of the qualifications for a bishop/pastor is to be the husband of one wife. God specifically states that the woman is not to teach the men of the church nor to take authority over the men of the church. God specifically states that the woman is to remain silent in the church. This is not a sexist thing. This is about proper structure according to God. Those that have a problem with this should consult with God over it instead of resisting him. After all, God also says those that love him obey him.

          • darkcyder

I consulted God, and he said it was fine. Did he tell you otherwise?

          • Ron Gilbert

His word says otherwise. You did not consult the God of the Bible if you received an answer telling you it was ok for women to be pastors.

          • darkcyder

Good thing we’ve got you to interpret the Bible for us. You are so much wiser than any others. Love the way you take most of it out of context so that you can make it mean what you want it to mean.

  • oldironsides

There are two kinds of churches today, those that prepare their followers to walk proudly into the coliseum to be eaten by the lions and those that say “Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition”.

  • jcbjr

Ditto. That is why we started a home church, and use the Bible as our membership manual, NOT some PC, wussy Church of Way Cool Modern Feminist Relevancy corporate policy tome. We raise our kids to be self-sufficient, God fearing, Constitutionally knowledgeable citizens WITH AN OPINION. Notice I said “we raise our kids”? That is NOT a job to palm off on Guv’ment school and Sunday School keepers. We made ‘em, we will raise ‘em! My 11 year old daughter shoots long range tactical with me, as do my sons. My 2 (so far) grandchildren are off to a good start. We hunt, we fish, we camp, and we play dress up and super hero and house. They all have a mother and a father who try to model Biblical marriage and family to them.

Wussy church? been there, done that, no more. Jesus was no wimp.

My Pastor is OK with me being armed as long as no one see’s my weapon. At least that is a step in the right direction!

Unfortunately some people panic and are scared when they see a pistol so my snub nose revolver is tucked away under my coat. I would hate to be in church and need it knowing I left it in the car! God loves those that prepare ahead.

In my church, the Pastor carries his own gun. And everyone knows it!

      • Ann Wilson

Many years ago our Pastor had the church picnic at the gun range. He wanted all the ladies to try every ones weapons so we could decide which one we liked best. Owned a weapon every since and qualified sharpshooter in law enforcement. When he left we all bought him his favorite weapon as a farewell gift.

After having spend forty two years in the Church,I have learned to hate this false religious system and its false shepherds, who will lie at the drop of a hat and who are as ignorant as their sheep, despite all there theological degrees and and self proclaimed Anointings, who need to get a Hebrew Bible and get to know Yahweh for the very first time, and stop preaching and teaching Christian values and start teaching Biblical Values, stop twisting scripture to suit their on agenda, and set aside all this denominational Doctrine as if they are the only truth there is,you gota be a Christian, you gota be a Baptist,or a Methodist,a this or that, what I find in the Bible is followers of Yeshua Messiah, who hear the word of God and do it,and follow the actual teaching of the whole council of Yahweh old Covenant and New,who do not try to skirt around the Commandments but do their best to obey them, and then we can be effective at fighting the good fight of faith, and stop trying to interpret the scriptures our selves and allow the scriptures to interpret themselves, and let stop constructing all these big fancy churches,or rather stop wasting money on our selves, kick the false shepherds out and make them find a job and support themselves, lets get Biblical and maybe Yahweh will use some to Change this world.—Jim Hunt
