SAY WHAT: Liberty University Hires Open Homosexual Advocate to Choreograph ‘Mary Poppins’ Production

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty University, which is considered the world’s largest Christian university, has hired an open homosexual advocate to choreograph its upcoming Broadway-style presentation of Mary Poppins.

The university recently published an article regarding the production, which it celebrates as being the school’s “largest to date.” The article notes that Alluvion Stage Company, an arm of the university’s Department of Theater Arts, “has hired a guest music director, a flight director, and a Broadway choreographer” to assist with the presentation.

“We are very excited to have all of these guest artists join us … They bring a whole new level of excellence,” stated artistic director Linda Nell Cooper. “Our goal with Alluvion is for every show to raise the bar somehow; they have helped us to do that.”

The selected choreographer is Geoffrey Goldberg, a New York City-based artist who has been involved with professional theater for over a decade, and traveled the country for five years assisting with the production of Mary Poppins, among others.

Goldberg’s social media pages also indicate his support and advocacy for the homosexual agenda, posting “Happy pride, everyone” in June of last year, which was designated as Homosexual Pride Month by Barack Obama. Goldberg is also a member of the Facebook group Marriage Equality New York.

    Don’t send your kids there.

    • lisarichards124

I’m disappointed. I always said if I have kids they will either go to Liberty or Hillsdale. Now it will be Hillsdale and never Liberty. When Rev. Falwell died, I guess the place went with him..

      • Susan

        So true.

  • James

Well all of you that check on this site know that I am against homosexuality and feel that they are more of a threat to this country than any foreign army or terrorist group. However, unlike the “gay Mafia,” I do not object to someone that has views opposite of mine working at his trade. I see no problem with this person doing his job as long as he does not try to push the gay pride views onto the students or into the production.

    • oat21

Unfortunately, that’s exactly what they do, push their gay pride left wing liberal views onto everyone, including students everywhere.

      • Eric Haulenbeek

As if living like a queen isn’t low enough, could you imagine telling people you’re proud of it? Talk about being sick!

    • Nightwing K’Trevala

      well said

    • Barbaree

I agree with everything you said!

    • chamuiel

by even being there, he is pushing his sick ideology.

when did you sell out? before or after Liberty university?

      • James

This is not a sellout; a person has a right to earn a living
no matter what his belief may be. Are we like the gay mafia and deny a man a job because he has different beliefs. Would you deny a Catholic a job because he does not believe the same as Baptist?
As long as he does not push his beliefs onto others and does his job he is not different than being a member of a different political party. If however he uses his job to push homosexuality then that becomes another matter I will call for his immediate dismissal. Likewise if he obtained this job because he is gay I will call for his dismissal.

    • chasaragdy

James, Sir, if you wish to make such broad, generalist statements such as, “…they are more of a threat to this country than any foreign army or terrorist group…” is–at best–a total fabrication, and without facts to back up your rhetoric, your statement is an outright lie!!

I’m as straight as a male can be, I’m Conservative, and have voted 99 percent Republican since I was first able to vote in 1964. The premise of my above statement is the same as I would make to any Liberal, Socialist, homosexual or homophobic…where are your facts to back up your insane claims???

James, I agree with your comments that anyone, homosexual, homophobe, lesbian, straight, lame, handicap or any afflictions is welcome to any job….as long as they are qualified for and can do the job, without any recourse as long as they don’t ask for special compensations in order to do the job!!

The hiriing of a homosexual at Liberty University is altogether a different matter. As long as the homosexual wants to do the job, keep his/her political and social opinions to themselves, i.e., not try to demean nor deminish nor debase the philosphy of the University, then give him/her the job. Of course, consideration should be given to the facts that should the homosexual employee not honor their promise of behavior, then the University has a problem of firing the homosexual traitor, without having to endure a lawsuit. How easy is it to weave one’s self into a web, in today’s ultraliberal societial atmosphere??? And without tort reforms–a must is that the loser pays–frivilous lawsuits will be an albatross around the necks of American Society and businesses in general, and citizens of the Land specifically!,

      • James

The claim that the gays are more of a threat to us than any foreign army or terrorist group is correct and is proven every day. The aim of the gay is a federal law forbidding discrimination against the gays a “gay card” to be played every time something does not go their way. The fact is that Pew research in the last few months found that only 21 % of the gays feel they are discriminated against. The treat from the gays is there insistence that a person religious belief not be a defense for not participating in gay events. Also in their demand is that it be illegal to say that homosexuality is a sin. In fact one such demand would ban a preacher from preaching it in church. This would destroy our freedom of religion and our free speech. The gays have in effect accomplished this in
some states. No foreign army or any terrorist group has ever come this close to causing us to lose these two freedoms. This is the whole basis for the conflict between Christians and the gays. I would have thought that you under stood that if you had followed this struggle. You could argue even more that no foreign Army or terrorist group has ever made a person lose their jog as was done just recently to the CEO and creator of the Firefox Browser. There are many more examples that could be given but I think you see the point I am trying to make.

    • wiggumc1

Not only that, this will be a tremendous opportunity for the student body to show him the love of Christ. It will hopefully show him that his sin is what is an abomination to God, not himself.

      • Northpaw

What’s with the deer in the headlights look?

  • Jill

I guess Christains will sell their souls to the devil. Some that is!

    • lisarichards124

I set my soul, my heart, my mind and my life on Jesus. I will not compromise to anything that is unGodly.

I’ve been nice and tolerated and last year it got me kicked in the ass when homosexual friends demanded that after 30 years of being their friend it was time I came over to their side. When I said no, I’m a straight woman and I like men, and I’m a Christian follower of Jesus and wont give that up, I was turned on viciously, showing me you can be nice to people, but don’t ever think that trying to show love to people will always be reciprocated. Homosexuals do not want God, they want us to convert to them. I refuse, so I learned a lesson. But sadly I really was showing honest friendship, because Jesus said love one another, but I never knew my friends had an agenda: To expect me to give up Jesus and come over to the gay movement. When I said no, never. It blew up in my face with such hatred, it was shocking.

I showed love and acceptance, but I was returned with hate.

I’ve learned that if people don’t have Christ in their hearts, they will hate those who do unless they come to Christ.

Live and learn. I has brought me closer to Christ. But I am not going to give up on praying for my now ex-friends. I want them to know Jesus

      • Jill

        They are evil perverts!

      • Susan

All radical homosexuals are fascists and haters. They created the most brutal, inhumane cultures of all time. Sodomites, like Nero, actually castrated boys and “married” them with all his homosexual orgy partners. Without God, everything is permissible. Read “Sugar Keynes at Harvard” to learn the mindset of radical homosexuals who hate Christianity and wanted to “Kill God”. These were people who used boys in their orgies, and like Nero, bragged where to find boys in third world countries, whom they could castrate and even kill.

Nazi Brownshirts were homosexuals, as the Bolsheviks, who have no qualms about killing and mutilating women and children. The dehumanization which they habituate on themselves and others—is degrading and reduces man to animal lust with no meaning or morality…no God.

Christianity is selfless Love. Homosexuality is idolatry, narcissism and is about equating the Life-giving organ to excrement. It is about mocking God and hating God’s Design of the human body. It is actually self-hatred….so anything which comes out of their souls is incredibly evil and Godless.

      • cherieloren

I agree with James, it used to be the gays wanted equality but in the end , they want superiority! What you do in your bedroom is your business but don’t expect me to support it if you make it public!

    • lisarichards124

It’s all agenda: Force us to give up our lives God created us to be in order for perversion to take over. We are to shut up and put up with homosexuals who want rights while demanding we not have any

    • felix1999

They have ALWAYS wanted to destroy what marriage is.

Heterosexuals shacking up where NEVER demanding of the things homos are. Think about it.

  • 4lifeandfreedom

Quite ironical, don’t you think, that the CEO of Mozilla resigned for giving $1000. a few years ago to oppose same-sex marriage, but this “Christian” university is allowed to hire this person? Where is the outcry about this?
It is really no surprise, because the track record of Liberty has not been one of following Christ in all things.
Bet we will see some kind of lawsuit down the road!

    • felix1999

Odd how the CEO gave that donation in 2006.

In 2008 when that thing, ah, Obama ran, Obama also lied about advocating same sex marriage. At that time Obama didn’t dare advocate anything other than one man and one woman for marriage.

So my question is this, WHY can Obama claim to be against same sex marriage in 2008 and this CEO be against it in 2006 and make a donation and be FIRED or forced to resign? Doesn’t this CEO have ant you know whats?

  • joshuasweet

  • Eric Haulenbeek

Anyone who advocates publicly for the homosexual lifestyle should be shown the door. These people are a sickness that unfortunately has been foisted on the human race since the beginning of time. They’re a sad reality to the life we live on this earth, but thankfully only a temporary one.

  • razz

    Just a … sweet guy trying to earn a buck … I guess….

  • Azsteve53

Now, given how Mozilla treated its CEO, should this person be fired for being outed as a flaming homosexual at a Christian production ? Yep, fire his a**, use the exact same language as was used in the Mozilla firing.

Remember homosexual(s), there are a lot less of you and a lot of employers that support traditional marriage, see how it feels to be on the “receiving end”, eh ?

Never thought of this, did you?

  • puglianana

I don’t think Jerry Falwell would have approved of this choice. This school was founded on Christian principles. I sent my son there. I am very disappointed in this decision. I think they will pay the price. It is a sad day. The Bible states that even the very elect will be deceive. Once the homosexuals get their foot in the door, they won’t stop until they have a majority at the school. Liberty should take note of the out cry at World Vision.

    • felix1999

Sodom and Gomorrah here we come!

The Girl Scouts allow lesbians in any role. The Boy Scouts, at the moment, only allow “gay” boys. You’re right, World VIsion a “Christian” organization was going to allow “same sex” partners till there was outrage and now THIS. At most these perverts make up 1-2% of our population. It’ struly amazing how EASILY people are deceived …. then again we have Obama as our President ….. Yes, he is “transparent”….

      I add this:

      Romans:1: 22-32

[22] Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

      (LIBERALS, Democrappers and RINO’s)

[23] And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

[24] Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

(Homosexuals, transgendered, pedophiles, bestiality and other sexual perversions)

[25] Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Green Party and other insane environmentalists)

[26] For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

[27] And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

      [28] And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

[29] Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

(LIBERAL media, Hollyweird, Obama administration, Demoncrappers,RINO’s – ah you get the idea!)

[30] Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

(ENTITLEMENT minded kids and adults etc.)

[31] Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

[32] Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Yes we ARE living in those days….. As more of this total ungodliness keeps coming, I have to seriously wonder… is He coming soon? We have lots of earthquakes, DRUG use and stunning corruption in our government … mass spying, a runaway deficit, people encouraged to NOT work, class warfare, race warfare….. America has had its ups and downs but NEVER like this where we LEGISLATE immorality and pick and chose what laws we want to enforce while kicking the Judeo Christian God out of our culture and trying to turn Him into a four letter word of politically incorrect status of “n” word.

      • Carrie

I am a Christian college student. I do not attend a religiously affiliated university because going to a state school was a financially better opportunity, but want to emphasize the fact that I still maintain and defend my beliefs while living in a secular environment.

The main thing I want to point out here is that typing on this blog about how much you hate homosexuals really does nothing. Everyone seems to love to use the Bible as a weapon to defend their beliefs, so maybe you should check out John 8:7 or Matthew 7:1-5. If there is anyone on this blog that wants to claim they are perfect, I would LOVE to talk to you. Everyone sins. Is the act of homosexuality worse than your horrible words about those who are gay? I don’t think anyone has actual knowledge to say that. There are also so many examples in the Gospels about loving one another. 1 John 3 gives you a pretty straightforward statement that compares hating others to murder.

Aside from the people who have said they support this man being hired because he is actually quite talented, I am very disappointed in you that are Christians. You all are the reason why when I tell people I am a Christian, they automatically assume I am judgmental. If your goal is to retain children in the church, stop promoting hatred. Please remember that God LOVES the world and he sent Jesus Christ to us for that very reason. You do not have to agree with someone’s lifestyle, but at least have the courtesy to respect it. If anyone tries to tell me I’m not a true Christian for anything I’ve just said, that’s fine because I will disagree.

        • cherieloren

Carrie, none of the writers have said anything about hating homosexual’s. As Christians we are to love the sinner but hate the sin. Homosexuality is a sin, one of many. The problems here are that the gay community is forcing their ways onto the Christian community. The gay community is an intolerant group of individual’s who have infiltrated the Christian community and then cries foul if a Christian doesn’t agree with their lifestyle. For a Christian church to condone the gay agenda, what are they thinking? Once they give up the church, the Christian has no where else to go, this is their “home base”. Respect works both ways and I respect their choice to live as they want but they don’t respect mine to disagree with their lifestyle. As a Christian I can not agree with the gay lifestyle and will not “celebrate” it or condone it. To do so is a slap in the face to our Saviour who called homosexuality and abomination. Does this mean that I hate the homosexual? Of course not. I worked with several who I thought highly of and got a long well with. However, the gay agenda has caused Christian businesses to close, caused Christians to lose their jobs which provided for their families, all because they stuck to their principles and God given right to their religious freedom. Imagine if it were reversed and a Christian went to a homosexual business and demanded that they cater to their beliefs or lose their business / jobs. There would be such an outcry it would be heard all around the world. Let a Christian speak up for themselves and they’re labeled as intolerant and hateful. As a Christian we are not to judge the person but we are to judge with righteous judgement (discerning between right and wrong). Homosexuality is wrong on every level and to agree with it is to be partaker of it.

          • Northpaw

            Very well said!

          • cherieloren

            Thank you very much.

  • donl

Hey Parents, If possible keep your kids away from these freaks. The more friendly they are the more apt they are to “try” to change your kid. I know, there was one right next door to me. I didn’t have a clue until I caught him in the garage with my kid. I threatened to kill him if I caught him again I spread the word and finally moved.

    • Susan

I was told this homosexuals “coach” was so “great” and “nice” with kids, and they “loved” him. Well, he ended up in San Quentin after it was reported that he was molesting two boys for years (mother was divorced and he was “helping her out” when she “worked”–he was so nice and helpful with the brothers).

Pederasty is a big part of sodomy, like it was with the Samurai and Spartans and today’s Afghanistan (harems of boys), since it is a learned (and taught/habituated) behavior. It is a warping of the normal sexual identity of children. (Just like the raped (age 11) Chastity Bono, whose whole worldview of body and self was destroyed).

It is evil to promote sodomy which is promoting Child abuse, since it is such a vile, irrational, use of the body, which defies Reason and Biology and Truth/God and can be habituated in children as the boys in the harems of Afghanistan prove.

    • Sky Soldier

Think “Penn State University” football coach… and their cover up of a child molester in their midst – for years!

  • Buford

Allow homosexuals to monopolize the arts and you can expect to see advocacy for perversion everywhere you turn. If you want godly living to be foremost on the minds of people, particularly the audience of children who would attend “Mary Poppins,” would you not want someone more apt to be the type of advocate found in Deut. 11:20? Train up a child in the way he should NOT go, and he will have difficulty turning from it. Shameful that “Liberty” would make the same mistake the Disney Corp made when they leavened their lump.

  • Jerry

Broadway musicals? That’s how we prepare the next generation of evangelical Christ followers? Waste of time, waste of money, what is going on within our Christian institutions!

  • Jackie

So much for Christianity having anything to do with the Bible or God. When you defy God’s word at every turn how can you proclaim to be a Christian. I guess Liberty is now a pagan university. They can no loger claim to be Christian. Christian doesn’t promote sin.

  • sgt.greywolf

More of the lukewarm Christianity that’s being vomited out of today’s churches. The only thing remotely Christian about these Pastors and congregants that embrace homosexuality as an alternative lifestyle sanctioned by God, or that believe the lie that if we get them involved in our churches that THEY WILL CHANGE … is that most of them can actually spell the word Christian. They just don’t have a clue what it meant to the One Who died for them …

I don’t know where the outrage was for THIS back in 2009!

Obama by Presidential proclamantion declared JUNE

      Office of the Press Secretary

For Immediate Release June 1, 2009

      – – – – – – –

Forty years ago, patrons and supporters of the Stonewall Inn in New York City resisted police harassment that had become all too common for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community. Out of this resistance, the LGBT rights movement in America was born. During LGBT Pride Month, we commemorate the events of June 1969 and commit to achieving equal justice under law for LGBT Americans.

LGBT Americans have made, and continue to make, great and lasting contributions that continue to strengthen the fabric of American society. There are many well-respected LGBT leaders in all professional fields, including the arts and business communities. LGBT Americans also mobilized the Nation to respond to the domestic HIV/AIDS epidemic and have played a vital role in broadening this country’s response to the HIV pandemic.

Due in no small part to the determination and dedication of the LGBT rights movement, more LGBT Americans are living their lives openly today than ever before. I am proud to be the first President to appoint openly LGBT candidates to Senate-confirmed positions in the first 100 days of an Administration. These individuals embody the best qualities we seek in public servants, and across my Administration — in both the White House and the Federal agencies — openly LGBT employees are doing their jobs with distinction and professionalism.

The LGBT rights movement has achieved great progress, but there is more work to be done. LGBT youth should feel safe to learn without the fear of harassment, and LGBT families and seniors should be allowed to live their lives with dignity and respect.

My Administration has partnered with the LGBT community to advance a wide range of initiatives. At the international level, I have joined efforts at the United Nations to decriminalize homosexuality around the world. Here at home, I continue to support measures to bring the full spectrum of equal rights to LGBT Americans. These measures include enhancing hate crimes laws, supporting civil unions and Federal rights for LGBT couples, outlawing discrimination in the workplace, ensuring adoption rights, and ending the existing “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy in a way that strengthens our Armed Forces and our national security. We must also commit ourselves to fighting the HIV/AIDS epidemic by both reducing the number of HIV infections and providing care and support services to people living with HIV/AIDS across the United States.

These issues affect not only the LGBT community, but also our entire Nation. As long as the promise of equality for all remains unfulfilled, all Americans are affected. If we can work together to advance the principles upon which our Nation was founded, every American will benefit. During LGBT Pride Month, I call upon the LGBT community, the Congress, and the American people to work together to promote equal rights for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim June 2009 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month. I call upon the people of the United States to turn back discrimination and prejudice everywhere it exists.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this first day of June, in the year of our Lord two thousand nine, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-third.

      Here’s Obama’s message for 2010:

      The White House

      Office of the Press Secretary

      For Immediate Release

      May 28, 2010

Presidential Proclamation–Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month

As Americans, it is our birthright that all people are created equal and deserve the same rights, privileges, and opportunities. Since our earliest days of independence, our Nation has striven to fulfill that promise. An important chapter in our great, unfinished story is the movement for fairness and equality on behalf of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community. This month, as we recognize the immeasurable contributions of LGBT Americans, we renew our commitment to the struggle for equal rights for LGBT Americans and to ending prejudice and injustice wherever it exists.

LGBT Americans have enriched and strengthened the fabric of our national life. From business leaders and professors to athletes and first responders, LGBT individuals have achieved success and prominence in every discipline. They are our mothers and fathers, our sons and daughters, and our friends and neighbors. Across my Administration, openly LGBT employees are serving at every level. Thanks to those who came before us — the brave men and women who marched, stood up to injustice, and brought change through acts of compassion or defiance — we have made enormous progress and continue to strive for a more perfect union.

My Administration has advanced our journey by signing into law the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr., Hate Crimes Prevention Act, which strengthens Federal protections against crimes based on gender identity or sexual orientation. We renewed the Ryan White CARE Act, which provides life saving medical services and support to Americans living with HIV/AIDS, and finally eliminated the HIV entry ban. I also signed a Presidential Memorandum directing hospitals receiving Medicare and Medicaid funds to give LGBT patients the compassion and security they deserve in their time of need, including the ability to choose someone other than an immediate family member to visit them and make medical decisions.

In other areas, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced a series of proposals to ensure core housing programs are open to everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. HUD also announced the first ever national study of discrimination against members of the LGBT community in the rental and sale of housing. Additionally, the Department of Health and Human Services has created a National Resource Center for LGBT Elders.

Much work remains to fulfill our Nation’s promise of equal justice under law for LGBT Americans. That is why we must give committed gay couples the same rights and responsibilities afforded to any married couple, and repeal the Defense of Marriage Act. We must protect the rights of LGBT families by securing their adoption rights, ending employment discrimination against LGBT Americans, and ensuring Federal employees receive equal benefits. We must create safer schools so all our children may learn in a supportive environment. I am also committed to ending “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” so patriotic LGBT Americans can serve openly in our military, and I am working with the Congress and our military leadership to accomplish that goal.

As we honor the LGBT Americans who have given so much to our Nation, let us remember that if one of us is unable to realize full equality, we all fall short of our founding principles. Our Nation draws its strength from our diversity, with each of us contributing to the greater whole. By affirming these rights and values, each American benefits from the further advancement of liberty and justice for all.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim June 2010 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month. I call upon all Americans to observe this month by fighting prejudice and discrimination in their own lives and everywhere it exists.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this twenty-eighth day of May, in the year of our Lord two thousand ten, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-fourth.

In 2011 and 2012 Obama pipped down.

You see he wanted to be RE ELECTED!

BUT in 2013 Obama was back again celebrating –

      The White House

      Office of the Press Secretary

      For Immediate Release

      May 31, 2013

Presidential Proclamation — Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month, 2013

      – – – – – – –

For more than two centuries, our Nation has struggled to transform the ideals of liberty and equality from founding promise into lasting reality. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) Americans and their allies have been hard at work on the next great chapter of that history — from the patrons of The Stonewall Inn who sparked a movement to service members who can finally be honest about who they love to brave young people who come out and speak out every day.

This year, we celebrate LGBT Pride Month at a moment of great hope and progress, recognizing that more needs to be done. Support for LGBT equality is growing, led by a generation which understands that, in the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., “injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” In the past year, for the first time, voters in multiple States affirmed marriage equality for same-sex couples. State and local governments have taken important steps to provide much-needed protections for transgender Americans.

My Administration is a proud partner in the journey toward LGBT equality. We extended hate crimes protections to include attacks based on sexual orientation or gender identity and repealed “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” We lifted the HIV entry ban and ensured hospital visitation rights for LGBT patients. Together, we have investigated and addressed pervasive bullying faced by LGBT students, prohibited discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity in Federal housing, and extended benefits for same-sex domestic partners. Earlier this year, I signed a reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity in the implementation of any VAWA-funded program. And because LGBT rights are human rights, my Administration is implementing the first-ever Federal strategy to advance equality for LGBT people around the world.

We have witnessed real and lasting change, but our work is not complete. I continue to support a fully inclusive Employment Non-Discrimination Act, as well as the Respect for Marriage Act. My Administration continues to implement the Affordable Care Act, which beginning in 2014, prohibits insurers from denying coverage to consumers based on their sexual orientation or gender identity, as well as the National HIV/AIDS Strategy, which addresses the disparate impact of the HIV epidemic among certain LGBT sub-communities. We have a long way to go, but if we continue on this path together, I am confident that one day soon, from coast to coast, all of our young people will look to the future with the same sense of promise and possibility. I am confident because I have seen the talent, passion, and commitment of LGBT advocates and their allies, and I know that when voices are joined in common purpose, they cannot be stopped.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim June 2013 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month. I call upon the people of the United States to eliminate prejudice everywhere it exists, and to celebrate the great diversity of the American people.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this thirty-first day of May, in the year of our Lord two thousand thirteen, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-seventh.

  • sean murruy

I thought they wouldn’t hire any one like that

    • jong

To be honest I think that Linda Cooper should be looked into and what she was thinking. It seem clearly obvious that this person is a well known homosexual.

  • cyndal

It is no big deal that they hired this man he is free to work anywhere he wants to because of the first amendment in our Constitution. As a conservative I am open minded enough to accept that. My problem is that the homosexual agenda liberals and progressives are so closed minded, bigoted and intolerant that they can’t stand the thought of conservatives even existing in their world. The don’t us the same respect. These activist are so hell bent on destroying anything conservative. They bully, threaten and boycott conservatives until they get what they want and are fired or have ruined the person’s life for simply thinking differently than they do. They keep pushing and shoving it down our throats. I have had my fill of their bigotry and hate. I accept them for their way of thinking, just quit shoving it down our throats like they are doing! They are awakening a sleeping giant.

    • Idadho

You statement “he is free to work anywhere he wants to because of the first amendment in our Constitution” does not sense. He can work anywhere people want him. The First Amendment does not allow him to choose where if others do not want him. Liberty needs to be sensitive to the thousands of supporters who keep them financially sound.
Liberty is at a disadvantage if they want to find top tier choreographers. I doubt there are any who do not support the homosexual agenda, even the hetero choreographers are deeply immersed in a homosexual supporting community and will not find work if they object to the homosexual agenda.
Too bad Liberty has not tried to train up choreographers from within.

      • jong

        Well stated.

  • celador2

Liberty can’t take the heat and joins in promoting sin now that Rev Jerry Falwell is gone. Too bad. They did not need to hire this dude and did it to get kudos from liberals.

  • gloria

Shame on Liberty. My opinion of them has been damaged permanently. While the former CEO of Mozzilla is receiving death threats from homosexual groups and loosing his job because he believes in real marriage – Christian universities should never be hiring open, practicing homosexuals.

  • 19gundog43

Jerry Falwell must be spinning in his grave. This has to be the beginning of the “great falling away” spoken of in Revelation. Mary Poppins, REALLY!!!

    • Evan White

Just a spoonfull of sugar makes the medicine go down medicine go down medicing go down just a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down in a most delightfull way- Marry Poppins

  • Chuck

We should all be praying for Geoffrey instead of throwing stones. Yes, i get it that
we Christians dont condone homosexuallity,..and i DO question Libertys decision,..
but we are in the last days and we need to pray for all that are in danger of destruction

    • jong

We are in danger when we allow such things in. A camels nose is soon followed by his whole body.

      • stonemike

Even token acceptance of queers gives them an opportunity to propagate their PERVERSION on your children !

    • Winston

Jesus said, “be not deceived”… so what’s your justification against Christ?

  • Name

I fail to see any real problem here. While I do not choose to live as others may, I will defend their right to choose. The consequences of choice none can “in the life” dictate.
This is in my opinion a “False Flag” issue which tends to keep the masses busy fighting amongst ourselves while the real enemies of “Liberty” work tirelessly to take all freedom from us.

    • 1PRAYS4U

Well said! That’s it in a nutshell. Remember Gen. Schwarzkopf in the first gulf war? He had EVERYONE looking to the west as they surprise attacked from the east! If we’re not looking at our smart phones, we’re looking the wrong way.

    • jong

Homofacists are a radical arm of all the liberals want. Any victory for a homosexual is a victory for ole jug ears. We need to roll it back not encourage this kind of behavior.

      • stonemike

Great point, ANY COMPROMISE with socialism (or homos) is just a step toward them coming to dominate society, a dominance that will oppress “all dissenting views ” !

    • Winston

@Name: you are either a leftist professed “Christian” in name only or you are not a student of the Scriptures, or you’d understand God’s directives as to homosexuality and the mere acceptance of it.

    • stonemike

Im sure your naive openness would still prevail if you find one of these perverts in bed with your teenage son, huh !

    • RLC

      Tsk Tsk Tsk.

  • chamuiel

and the stawarts of freedom fall one by one.

    • jong

Cooper should be fired first and then the contract canceled. She should have signed a morals clause and this surely fits not hiring a moral or ethical person in to do the job.

      • Winston

LU does have a moral turpitude statement in their contracts…at least with their professors and students. Perhaps Franklin Graham needs to have a face-to-face come to Jesus talk with Jerry Falwell, Jr..

      • Yukon36

        Is she a closet lesbian?

        • jong

That is a logical path to travel. The other problem you might also see like people like “dave” they have not been taught orthodoxy in scripture but, the heresy of the “you can sin but Jesus loves everybody so you are saved anyways” fallacy

  • DOOM161

The “tolerant” fascists shut down anyone that doesn’t actively celebrate homosexuals.

  • fearlesskris

um maybe they want a great production and he was the best person for the job? I mean, you might want to consider that most places have equal employment opportunity. It’s Mary Poppins. Your panties are in a bunch over that?

    • stonemike

When you “personally condone EVIL”, you become EVIL TOO , or you already were !

  • jong

Linda Cooper should be the first to go as I am sure it violates school policy in it morals clause which are still legal. And I am sure that there are plenty of straight people that could do the job just as well as the homosexual. Dr. Walter Meyer former chair of History of Western Michigan Univeristy would call this the camel’s nose. Soon to be followed by the rest of camel.

  • Richard Diaz, Sr.

Like the rest of the country, this University has caved into the demonic pressures of these sexual perverts all in the name of being politically correct and tolerant. Two expressions I have come to loathe and abhor which in turn is going to destroy this country if we don’t wake up and the thing is, we won’t wake up.

  • Essel Jay

This protest sounds a lot like the Mozilla CEO controversy — so, the guy is gay and doesn’t deserve to have a job?? I don’t condone his lifestyle to any extent but how are we to be salt and light if all we do is stoop to the same intolerance that the left does? Who’s to say this young man will not be exposed to the Gospel while working with Christian actors and dancers??

    • Winston

A recovering alcoholic Christian does not go into a bar to witness to sinners. Thus, a Christian-based university must not bring sin onto the campus in hopes the sinner will confess and repent. That should be done “off campus”. You’re just self-justifying sin in a Christian environment. Your logic goes along with that of Rick Warren by inviting a Islamic cleric to preach at his mega-church. Such wisdom is nothing but folly.

      • stonemike

Rick Warren is a “dumb ass” and may possibly be “beheaded” by the same animal he asked in his church !

  • Yukon36

What will Liberty do when the Alumni stop sending in donations and do not leave the University anything in their wills?

    • felix1999

If I had oodles of money they’d be cut off. Even if they pull a World VIsion and later backtrack, the FACT that they claim to be “Christian”and pull this tells me they are just testing the water and eager to cave in.

They no longer recognize God’s teachings:

[2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

It has become easier for Liberty University and World Vision to CONFORM to the world rather than hold fast and TRANSFORM the world to God’s will. The will of God is no longer their priority.

    • Winston

Agree. And, now what a predicament it puts parents of students and the professors who teach at Liberty. Are they now in a profoundly spiritual predicament to continue to teach and real Christian students remain enrolled? What a blunder LU made on this decision to bring sin onto the campus.

  • Mary

I have to say, my kids were always in the high school musicals and they were always directed by a gay teacher. On top of that most of the boys who assisted were also gay. I think Broadway and gays always follow one another.

    • felix1999

      So you are defending homosexuality?

Do you see “gays’ as good role models for your boys?

Do you think they aren’t good heterosexuals available to do the same directing?

Do you realize that “gays” are at most 1-2% of the population in the U.S.?

Do you REALLY believe that “gays’ have honor and wouldn’t take advantage of minors? Or use their “authority” to push an unwanted relationship?

Do you understand WHY “gays” dominate the arts?

It’s because it is SUBJECTIVE. The arts are EMOTIONALLY driven. “Gays” are emotionally disturbed that when of age act out sexually on their issues. “Gays” are often in schools … to be near their PREY. Any predator wants to be viewed with respect and ideally have authority OVER those below them -KIDS!

I don’t need to hear about heterosexuals misbehaving with minors. My point is about HOMOSEXUALS! Just because a small number of homosexuals exploit innocence doesn’t cancel out the fact that homosexuals are emotionally disturbed and it is wrong for heterosexuals to exploit kids.

      • Mary

Dear, I don’t hire these people in the public schools. I’m only stating the fact that they dominate the drama department in most of the public schools. And this is all over.

        • daisykmt

I’m thinking you were just stating a fact, not implying support. Got it.

          • Mary

yea, my daughter was in Fiddler On the Roof, Camelot, Oklahoma, Peter Pan, etc. When she did the first show I always made her costumes. I did such a good job they made me the head of costuming. Several ladies were brought in to help me. However, the parents had to go to JoAnn’s fabrics and buy the materials for their child’s costume. I am Conservative but had no voice or choice in who directed the shows. I was only a parent. Not the superintendent of schools.

    • Lyman_Sweetwater

You people kill me when you accept the words and names that leftists prefer over what really is. Gay means happy, cheerful. They are not gay Mary, they are disease ridden SODOMITES…

      • stonemike

Yep, and the govt is helping them infect your children !

  • anonymous

Just maybe, this man was hired for this job because he is good at it!? I do not agree with homosexuality being flaunted or publicized, but I also think that if this man is the best person for the job, talent-wise, he should be hired! We should not be defined for our sexual preference. On that point, I totally disagree with MOST of the homosexual agenda!

    • Winston

Apparently you are unaware of the entire first chapter int he book of Romans. Those who are even accepting of homosexuality is as if they commit the sin themselves.

      • anonymous

To Winston: I do not accept anything about or pertaining to the homosexual lifestyle or practices. I am just saying, hire the man according to his abilities, not his sexual preference!

        • Winston

You are still deceived by your reasoning. As Jesus said to Saul, “Why do you beat against the goad?”

          • kktex12

I only gave you a down because you misquoted God’s Word. The correct statements are as follows:

Act 9:4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

Act 9:5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

        • daisykmt

I’m sure that if Liberty had not hired him, he no doubt would have been hired by someone else since he’s supposed to be quite talented. So Liberty probably didn’t keep him from getting a paycheck.

      • Northpaw

This is in Romans chapter 1 verse 26 through 28:

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

I believe that is what Winston is referring to especially verse 32.

    • puglianana

This person maybe be good at his job, however, there are plenty of Christians in the same field that could have been hired. In all of America, there is only One person (a gay) that is the best? Unbelievable.

  • Winston

The Scriptures teaches that believers are to “come out from amongst them”, so it is hypocritical of LU to hire a person in sin without full and complete confession and repentance. So, what’s up with Liberty University spiritual oversight? Would Jerry Falwell roll over in his grave if he knew? So, is this the direction that Falwell, Jr. is taking the “Christian” university? Jesus said, “Let no one deceive you.” And, Jesus also told his disciples to “go into all the world to preach the gospel” but he did not say “bring the world into the Church”.

  • Lyman_Sweetwater

Every institution that matters in America has been infiltrated by the radical Homo-Leninists & MARXIST left. I guess they patiently waited for Jerry Falwell to die so they could infiltrate L.U.

    • Winston

True, but Falwell’s son is the President of LU. Rotten apple fell from the Falwell tree?

      • jong

He may not have known. Linda Cooper is the one in violation. It is up to the President however to do something however.

  • Winston

Here’s the conflict: “Liberty University describes itself as a Christian academic community. Its stated mission and aims emphasize both the intellectual and spiritual development of the institution’s students.[10] Students are held to The Liberty Way, a code of behavioral conduct.”
Whoever hired the homosexual to be brought onto this Christian campus is either very worldly or has no spiritual discernment of right vs. wrong… good vs. evil.

  • Winston

Folks, the Christian “Church” is being drawn into the Great Falling Away as prophesied in the Scriptures in the end times scenario. This may be an example of “scales covering the eyes” of Liberty Universtiy leadership and not a iota of spiritual discernment being evident in this decision.

  • omega2

The GOOD REVERAND FALWELL WILL BE TURNING IN HIS GRAVE ON THIS ONE! Cant believe his family would allow a DEVIENT PERSON on the campas! I am saddened to hear of this advocate of HOMO PARADES being allowed on this HALLOWED GROUND Of which I donated many times in their BEGINNING! I can still see the Reverand and his group standing on the MOUNTAIN SINGING ” I WANT THAT MOUNTAIN” of which I helped to buy! LORD REACH DOWN AND STRAIGHTEN OUT THESE MISS GUIDED PROPLE!

    • puglianana

I am just wondering if the woman instructor made this decision without consulting Jerry Jr.

  • stonemike

It is very simple, STOP SUPPORTING THIS COLLEGE! Problem solved !

  • Kevin Miller

If anyone or any school is going to go buy the term,Christian, they should BE Christian…EXCLAMATION POINT! The fact that LU decided a Sodomite would make a better choreographer for their production of Mary Poppins(one of Real Disney’s Greatest Musicals)than a Christian who knows dancing,is a insult to the TRIUNE GOD,whom they claim to worship)and to a Great play/movie! It also is enabling and petting of the constant stereotype:Musicals are only for homos and women and only the 2 should and do take up dancing. That belief system is BS…and so are Sodomites(not the term I prefer to use,but I’m afraid to use the one I would prefer)!

  • Independent Voter

The homosexual agenda continues to prove biblical prophecy.

    • Xman3

Should one read the Book of Deuteronomy, it is quite clear what God’s law states. And the punishment is quite harsh.
Studies have resulted that the lgtb community in America is under 3%. One would think it was 70% with all the fuss.

      • Lyman_Sweetwater

Stop using their terminology to define them!!! They are not lgtb but radical deviant HOMOSEXUALS…!
        Learn that poem..!

      • daisykmt

Both Old Testament AND New Testament. Romans 1, starting at about verse 23 and continuing, couldn’t have spelled it out any plainer.

  • Marilynn Reeves

Surley there is another that could do as good or better job. Make all your yes YES and all your nos NO. This was not the right thing to do and whoever do it should have known that. Practice your beleifs

    • kathy

You do not respect a life style that is against God’s word. However saying that…you do show love. I do not agree with the school. This should never of been an issue. You can show love in other ways. It opens a door that will cause problems in the future…you came into agreement with something that will cause a regret. I know people who are gay. I love them. But I don’t let them make decisions that will effect those I am assigned to teach how to walk in God’s footsteps. .

    • daisykmt

Respect homosexuality? Love the people, yes! . . .but respect homosexuality?? Jesus said, “Go your way and sin no more.” We all have sin in our lives, but I respect none of my sins or anyone else’s, either.

      • kktex12

Problem is that when he said, Go your way and sin no more, that the person, by implication, had REPENTED of their sin. Homosexuals have not repented of their sin because they refuse to accept God’s Word about their abomination as the authority.

        • daisykmt

Good point. And yes, it IS an abomination to God.

    • felix1999

God doesn’t love people that flagrantly reject Him as homosexuals do. They ANGER Him. Honestly read the NEW or the OLD Testament. It’s clear in both.

God lovED the world. Did you catch that?

[16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Did you ever bother to read the REST of this?

[17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him MIGHT be saved.

[18] He that believeth on him is NOT condemned:

but he that believeth NOT is condemned already,

because he hath NOT believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

This “gay” homosexual is already condemned! By CHOICE!

[19] And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

Yes, God doesn’t love homosexuals. It’s a lovely idea to try and “separate the sin from the sinner…” Lovely but the reality is the person is the sinner. His or her behavior is what makes up who they are. In this case, it is a “gay” guy. To make you feel better, you’ve been brainwashed ….. a serial killer is a sinner. It is his killing that separates him/her from God and it is a CHOICE. You really can’t separate the sin of choice and pretend that the person is a Christian when there is no repentance and they keep “practicing” the same sin.

Clearly this “gay” guy prefers “darkness” rather than light. He’s thrilled that YOU accept his “choice” in life. Why,he’s won you over and you are too blind to see that. You prefer to live in “nonjudgmental bubble”. where you don’t dare state what is right or wrong. BTW the Ten Commandments were given to the Jews so they KNEW what was right and wrong and could be “judgmental” – that you REJECT!

[20] For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

Yes, yes …it is a time of what is wrong is right and right is wrong.

To call a sin is wrong and to sin is right according to humanists. In fact they are PROUD of not being able to say something is WRONG and a SIN.
Amazing times we live in …..

    • jong

And you have fallen into the “Jesus loves Everybody” fallacy of Salvation. He does but, first you have to admit and repent. Which means “go forth and do no more” Homosexuals do not believe they are sinning and flaunt it in the face of GOD. Bad idea. And those that support them are equally as guilty.

  • mike

A “Christian” college? What is the spiritual significance of a “broadway” presentation of mary poppins? How does this promote the Gospel? So called “Christian” colleges and churches have followed the world’s example too long; instead of setting the example.

  • Dave Sheeley

I am a graduate of Liberty University. It is a great school and has many great professors. They will continue to get my support and money due to the fact that they have educated thousands and thousands of students using a Christian philosophy. Remember Christ went to the sinners without judgement or reservation. Just because you have contact with a homosexual does not mean you are going against the Bible or God. If we don’t have that contact how are we suppose to accomplish the great commission that Christ told us to do. Spread the Gospel to everyone in all parts of the world. How would you explain to Jesus that you shunned a homosexual that he wanted to save by using you to tell them the truth. Remember we are not the judge only Christ can make that final judgement, don’t act with hate act with love for the person and hate the sin. You will be judged and forgiven as you have judged and forgiven.

Praise the Lord Jesus Christ our savior.

    • Winston

You are deceived by the folly of your own doing. And, your discerning is Christ’s teaching is upside down replete with error.

      • Dave Sheeley

I really have no idea what you are trying to say.

        • daisykmt

“Replete with error” (Winston). What error? Sounded like the Bible to me.

          • jong

Did you think that the devil would come at you with “Bible” that was completely changed?? Of course not. Dave has taken a NIV or other “Bible” that is being led away. He already has the “Jesus loves Everybody” as the last word in religion. He forgets the rest.

          • daisykmt

I know the scripture you referred to about the law. It’s Matt.5:17—“Think not that I came to destroy the law and the prophets. I came not to destroy, but to fulfill.” Then in Col. 2:14, Paul says Christ took it out of the way, nailing it to the cross.
I think Dave was saying that homosexuals have the ability to change & be obedient to God’s Word, just as all of us (all having sinned & fallen short of the glory of God) have the opportunity to do. Do I believe homosexuality is a sin? YES! Why? God said it. Do I believe God will accept them into heaven if they do not repent? The Holy Spirit had Paul to answer that in I Cor. 6:9 where he listed 9 or 10 groups of people who “will not inherit the kingdom of God”. He said homosexuals will not. I stand with the Bible. Folks who want to justify homosexuality apparently do not care that the Bible condemns it (Lev.18:22, Ro. 1:24-32–representative of both Old and New Testaments—it’s never been “OK” with God, apparently. His Words.
I agree about the NIV. I use KJV and NKJV.

        • felix1999

I am not surprised ….read it a few times …Dave, it is clear what Winston is saying to you. It is more sophisticated than maybe you are used to reading but his point is well taken and understood.

    • jong

Untrue. Jesus the Christ said that he did NOT come to get rid of the Law of Moses but, for salvation. GOD has shown us how to live with the Law. Jesus is the perfect lamb that saved us from the Law which the homosexuals refuse because they do not believe they have sinned. You must have missed that class. Homosexuals because of that refusal are doomed to hell.

      • Dave Sheeley

I did not say anything about getting rid of the law. Jesus came to make a way for ALL sinners to receive salvation and until they have taken their last breath homosexuals will have the same opportunity to receive salvation by believing in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. You best reread the New testament and understand what the purpose of Christ coming to this world was all about. The thief that died with Jesus received salvation in his last breath of life. All souls are worth saving no matter what sin they have committed. You sir missed the part in the Bible that salvation is available for all who ask for it. You do not get to pick who receives salvation and who doesn’t only Jesus Christ does, read the whole Bible, not just the parts that justify your willingness to condemn people instead of telling them the good news of Jesus Christ. Some people have to hear the truth many times before it sinks in.

        • jong

I suggest that you reread scripture and what you wrote. I have studied it for the last forty years under my Father who has a Doctor of Divinity (LCMS), Dean Ernst Gordon(former Dean of Chapel Princeton University (RIP)) and many others. Your “version” of the Bible runs to Heresy. Which is not surprising considering the amount of supposed “Christian” church’s that no longer teach the word of GOD.

          • Dave Sheeley

Totally empty response with no substance. I am happy for your father but I also have the corresponding degrees in religion. My version of the Bible is the word of God. May the Lord Bless you and spare you the pain of being so self righteous.

          • daisykmt

I reread your original post above, Dave Sheeley, (where you started out by saying “I am a graduate of Liberty University.”). For the life of me, I cannot see anything you said wrong, and cannot understand what error Jong is saying you are guilty of. He is not explaining how & why you’re wrong. Although I’m not Baptist, still I don’t see what you said wrong. I agree—it’s an “empty response with no substance.”

          • Dave Sheeley

            Thank you

          • jong

They (dave) come from the error of the “Jesus loves Everybody” church. They skip all other scripture including that of Jesus saying that he did not come to get rid of the Law but, its completion. Now if you can understand that get in the same boat as dave. By the way its sinking.

          • jong

No I guess to those blind appeal to authority (just like you did as saying you graduated from liberty to give you some “authority” ) would be a mote point. To but a fine point upon it is that your scripture is flawed and not what Jesus wanted and I would say that either your Bible is a new version or that you have not read the KJV in its completion. As for being self righteous I will leave that to the left wing that you belong to. I will rely upon GOD and common usage of the KJV not the NIV or other corrupted versions for scripture, And I go back to that homosexuals do not want or ask for forgiveness therefore are damned. Any other reading is heresy. Which the amount of “church’s” ignoring scripture does not surprise me at all.

          • kktex12

You are completely and totally right. Most of the so called churches are part of the Laodecean age. The rest have people in the pulpit that should never have been there in the first place. They are there for the job and were never called of God to be a preacher. The book, Please Preach, Just Quit, puts the rubber to the road in describing the malaise in the church.

          • felix1999

Yes jong, I agree with you! What Dave is coming up with his heresy. Dave has chosen to take the easy way out – be relative and “conform to THIS world”. Dave likes the easy way out – don’t “judge” and live and let live. He sees no sense of urgency or gentle honesty with a sinner.

I believe you understand the times we are living in. The wheat and chafe are still together, however it is easier to which one people are. What’s tragic is they are spiritually discerned and don’t realize it.

          • jong

And the biggest problem is that they read scripture and dont even realize that. I have read several different “Bibles” and the problems at least to me the changes that have been made to them. For instance leporsy has become a skin disease when it is clearly neorological (sorry about spelling) in it deals with losing feeling in hands, feet ect

          • kktex12

There is but one Bible for the English speaker. That is the 1611 King James Version. It is the only one where the 47 men who were charged with translating the original languages to English could read, write, and speak Aramaic, Hebrew, and Greek were in total agreement with the translation to English. The other newer versions are nothing more than satan’s versions written by unrepentant male/female sinners to water down and misrepresent the Word of God just as satan did in the Garden of Eden.

          • kktex12

Dave is part of the Laeodecean church.

        • felix1999

So to rationalize your indifference to his openly gay lifestyle choice, you want to believe that with his LAST BREATH, he will behave like the thief on the cross next to Christ?

Jesus was clear to those who do seek to be part of His adoptive family, …. He will forgive you but when you are a serial sinner, do you really think He is DUMB? This “gay” guy is OPENLY gay and not repentant. He sees nothing wrong with it. He is not asking to be saved. Yo are projecting wishful thinking on him to rationalize your ACCEPTANCE of his openly gay lifestyle. You see it’s EASIER to take YOUR position than to try and convert him and have him abandon his lifestyle.

Dave, you fool no one – especially not Christ with what you say. You need to take your own advice and read the ENTIRE Bible. Christ is not a pushover. When He returns and when He issues final judgment on people, He will not mince words. He will justify those of us that see a “gay” lifestyle choice as WRONG and issue the ultimate punishment. It is our obligation to tell this “gay” guy the consequence of what he is OPENLY doing. If he rejects God, there is a consequence but to pretend to “give the good news” and ignore a person on their way to hell is silly and hypocritical.

I am shocked that Liberty University has watered Christianity down to what you are saying. Many parents will be rethinking their views on this university.

      • felix1999

I am certainly rethinking my opinion of Liberty University. It’s not a university for my kids since they are weak on science and more of a liberal arts college but honestly, if Dave Sheeley is TYPICAL of what comes out of THEIR university, (rolling my eyes) they are no longer a Christian university.

You cannot go through life as a homosexual and expect Christ to give you a free pass for being an “abomination”. A repentant sinner changes their ways” and clearly if “gay” doesn’t continue to go about being an openly gay homosexual.

      • kktex12

Please stop misquoting what Jesus said. He said, I do not come into the world to condemn the world but to save the world. He also said,

I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. SO since the homosexual crowd will not renounce their sin and accept Christ as their Saviour, then we as Christians should not be enabling them. He also said,

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

    • felix1999

Yes, yes seek out the pervert at a Christian college. Of all the chorographers out there and there are OODLES, seek out the “gay” one to do Mary Poppins at a Christian college. Yes, I’m sure Jesus is PROUD of their CHOICE!

Your mentality is typical. No one is suggesting that contact contaminates anyone BUT you don’t ELEVATE a pervert at a Christian University or at least it was Christian …

You are so HUMANISTIC! Yes we ARE to JUDGE. Homosexuality is a SIN. It always has been. In fact God, yes God singled that one out in both the Old and New Testament as an “abomination”: and He literally “gives up on them”. So while on this earth we are to JUDGE what a sin is. It is Christ that will ultimately punish him if he doesn’t “sin no more” and there is no evidence that that will happen with his OPEN HOMOSEXUAL LIFESTYLE CHOICE!

No one “hates” him but he has no business prancing around, openly “gay” at a Christian university. IF I was a homosexual, I;d WANT someone to unshackle me from so I wouldn’t spend ETERNITY separated from God. Deep down they know it is wrong. Why do you think homosexuals are easily prone to suicide?

You are so wrong on your “relative” humanistic views. This openly “gay” homosexual is not looking to be “saved”. He’s scored a victory through dumb people like you. There is no reason in the world NOT to have a heterosexual in his role. You are like Lot. You have conformed to being “relative” and blaise about homosexuality. This “gay” guy is not looking to be saved or interested in any “outreach”. He’s making a fool of the university that claims to be “Christian”. SIily one …..

    • puglianana

I agree with you to a certain extent. However, having a concern is not hate.

  • Kathy W

This is fine with me. I would hire a gay in a minute if they were best for the job.I think Liberty knows what they are doing.

    • KRAM

      • Kathy W

They are hypocrites, self-righteous, and bigots.

        • puglianana

There are hypocrites everywhere. This view has always been the mind set of people outside the church. If you live for Jesus, than people give this excuse for not following HIM.

          • Kathy W

I meant that Mozilla are the hypocrites. They are what they have always called us. Sorry I poorly wrote that comment.

          • puglianana

Thanks for the clarification. God Bless

  • Oldmonkey

He is a choreographer, and was likely informed by Liberty what the school thinks is out of bounds. Both his conduct and work will reflect the college’s values

    • puglianana

He isn’t the only choreographer – there certainly many christian people in this field. I don’t buy that for a moment.

  • mossbergman

Why is this even news ? So What. time the media stops making something out of nothing, it’s not helping the gays .I don’t care what you do in your bedroom ,but I get sic of hearing about Gay this Gay that every other day .So what he gay no big deal

    • aemoreira81

In this case, it’s news because of who is making the hire.

    • puglianana

You have missed the point, Once the gay gets a foot in the door, there is no stopping them to push further and make no mistake about it, they will try. Jerry Falwell was strong, this woman who made the decision to hire the gay guy, we don’t know what her agenda is. Jesus stated come out from among them and be ye separate.

      • mossbergman

best be more concerned about the progressives infiltrating the government than the gays

  • bet1125

I hear, a la Liberace, he plans on putting a vase of flowers on the grand piano in the orchestra. When asked about it, he said “Roses on my piano are nice, but I’d rather have tulips on my organ.”

    • Lyman_Sweetwater

Same thing with another kweer leftist JEW named harvey firestein who said he never kissed a parrot, but kissed a cockatoo…

  • frog-out-of-kettle

I’ve just about seen it all now. Isn’t that Jerry Fallwell’s university?

  • Virginia Towerman

This is a tough one. Moved to Lynchburg to get my daughter through Liberty Christian Academy and then Liberty University. Truth be told though is that Jerry Falwell Sr. did follow Jesus’s example. He went out and spoke, spent time with and prayed with every type of sinner that you could think of. I think Jonathan Falwell and Jerry Jr are simply following his example. Let’s be candid – Christians have to live in this world for a while like everyone else. Spending a lifetime hating a group of people because they are sinners (like we all are) is not following Christ’s example. Do I disagree with this decision…yes, probably so. But in the end, the Falwell’s are and probably always will be an evangelistic ministry. They truly are trying to reach everyone…so let’s not throw them under the bus for trying.

    • Tim

It’s not the sinner we hate it’s the sin….stay away from them, lest what they do becomes acceptable, don’t even acknowledge their existance in a public forum, that’s how you protect a society.

    • puglianana

I don’t think it is hate! Just because we have strong view point, doesn’t make it hate. I don’t buy into that at all. Hate the sin, love the sinner.

  • aemoreira81

Other than his advocacy—if Geoffrey Goldberg’s resume, which is that of a Broadway veteran, makes him the most qualified candidate available of those who were available, why not? This should be a meritocracy. I could look past the advocacy if he really is the best qualified applicant or best person available.

    • Northpaw

“Other than his advocacy”??? Huh? This is an “Aside from that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play? The whole point of this thread is his advocacy!

    • JoJo58

We all know how RULES work in the liberal mind. Just look to California when the voters voted against Prop 8. It was the “law of the state” but the homosexual community would not have it. They pitched a fit until they got a second vote and it was voted down a second time. But….the homosexuals eventually got their way via litigation.

You have to remember, it’s THEIR WAY, or no way.

    • puglianana

It is sending the wrong message. There are a lot of worldly places for this person to work. Liberty has always been known for strict Christ likeness. You think the “gay” community isn’t looking at this as an opportunity to push further agenda on Liberty. I sent my son there, however, I wouldn’t send another child now.

      • aemoreira81

Except that in the real world, you don’t hire “second best”. That is called affirmative action,

        • puglianana

Christ is the real world. Who is to say, that this guy is the best. The gays? Christ stated to come out from among them and be ye separate. Who is to say what the requirements were. I think that Jerry Falwell Jr should call a press conference and explain.

  • sovereigntyofone

Well, if you want ” frilly costumes ” and ” Tinker bell dancers ” you call the pro’s .. the ” Tinker Bells “.
    Just my 2 cents worth.

Homo’s have a right to do SOMETHING for a living. And as long as they don’t infuse their ungodly moral values on other people (children), such as directing plays (which they seem pretty natural at), then…

    • Tim

The problem is that most of them are predators, your children are not safe.

  • shrtwvlstnr

What the hell does “meh” mean?

    • JoJo58

It’s an expression of indifference, mediocrity, boredom….it’s like saying “whatever”.

  • disqus_44JbsFzgKV

What? A gay dude doing a musical? Who’d da thunk it. Seriously, who you gonna call? They are NOT PAYING HIM TO BE GAY. They are paying him to do a production. Ask yourself why this appears outlandish. Christians are not monsters.
Now granted, all things aside, let’s not let him put a gay twist on Mary’s poppins (if you know what I mean?) If the show is good, and the kids are able to watch without asking what (insert uncomfortable inappropriate act here) means, then we are good to go.

    • JoJo58

So you’re saying that there are no Christians at Liberty university that can put on a stupid play?

  • shrtwvlstnr

the problem with homo’s today is the “Loud & Proud” mentality. Back when this was a greater nation, the mindset of SHAME kept them “in the closet” until they were hopefully able to get treatment and be normalized.

    • Chet

Treatment in the form of salvation via Jesus Christ the Lord of Glory. The transformation he provides transforms and changes the vilest Sinner as his blessed Holy Spirit is yielded to in the life of the convert.

  • Eebigdog

…..hmmmm, he can have his way with Bert but, for God’s sake, leave the Bank’s children alone!!!

  • Daniel Barbour

And please explain to me again why Mozilla it should be ok of being far less tolerant of the CEO who supported Proposition 8 against gay marriage. Not even touching the Biblical issues here involving a supposedly ‘Christian’ U., which are quite severe in themselves, other things are also not right in this picture.

  • Wordell

My grievance with the homosexual community is not that they are homosexual. My grievance is against the “radical” homosexuals that are aggressive in their promotion of homosexuality…the “in your face you’re going to accept it or else” attitude. Are you gay? Good. Fine. Live your life to the fullest. If we become friends, let’s go to lunch, discuss politics, come over for dinner……do everything friends will do……but do not force a sexual lifestyle on me that I consider an alternate to mine. I will never discuss my heterosexuality with you because I consider it private. It is the same that I demand from a homosexual. Leave your sex life in the bedroom…do not parade it in front of me as some kind of goal or trophy. Why do gays find this so difficult to understand?

Foresight people!…what impact will it have if Mr Creampuff is caught snuggling behind the curtains with an 18 year old Freshman? What if he becomes a bit more vocal about his twisted beliefs? Now that the freak door is open,…does that mean they can turn away a professor who cross-dresses? Would they get sued for discrimination if an open Lesbian wants to lead a Women’s-studies course? This can ONLY lead down a bad road. Slam the door, slam it hard,…and Don’t apologize.

  • ItalianScallion

Why hire someone that lives a lie?????????????

    • sargeant rock

Why employ someone who goes against the very word they are “suppose” to stand for and be teaching? I doubt seriously Jesus would have hired a homosexual to support Him and His word…. He did not “support or condone” Mary Magdalene being a prostitute, He said go and sin NO MORE….
By hiring this person, they are not only showing support for and condoning that lifestyle, they are going against the very word of God they teach…
More of the “Laodicean” mentality of the church today…. Revelation 3:14-16

      • ItalianScallion

We are in trouble as a nation and at war with the left. Wake up America, your demise is comming if you do nothing.

  • Chet

Jerry Falwell would be mortified at this prospect. And where is his son(s) in all this? Surely, this must be an administrative oversight…

  • sargeant rock

Not enough color there but you got the fairy part right

  • RC Rhodes

Liberty U. shows it’s true colors! ungodly lot. Just like the rest of the world. Money rules. Amen.

    • Winston

Don’t throw the baby out with the dirty bath water, just fire everyone who helped hire this abominable person.

  • kay

They could not find someone else??? surely they could have—How does Kirk Cameron feel about this move?? will he still do commercials for Liberty??

  • Marlin208

Oh yes, they have certainly raised the bar on this one. I think the world has gone to hell in a hand basket and America has gone right along.
It is a sad day when money overrules principle in a religious school.

    • Winston

You must not understand the meaning of “raising the bar.”

      • Marlin208

It was sarcasm. I fully understand the meaning of it.

  • GQ4U

I forget — what is it that goes before a fall? Oh — I remember.
“Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall.” Proverbs 16:18
    Geoffrey Goldberg’s tweet is haughty.
As for Liberty University it is sad they chose to work with a person who advocates what God calls an abomination. Will they be hiring evolution and abortion advocates next?

  • Five Guyz

Even though the concepts of cultural evolution and biological evolution share some similarities, there are critical differences between them.

Compromise causes the church to crumble!

    • infadelicious

Not so much compromise as it is appeasement. It is causing the Republican Party to crumble as well. Time to purge the appeasers.

  • Gabrielle Alyse

Is it so outlandish that even a staunch Christian University can look passed someone’s sexual orientation and hire them for what really matters? Their talent? Their knowledge?
Funny thing is I just read another article entitled “Tolerance? If you’re looking for it, don’t look at Islam” on this site. Seems it would fit this article too, but I’d exchange Islam for Christianity.

    • Guest

Apparently, you know nothing about either.

      • infadelicious

I ain’t see her wearing no burqa in her avatar Clearly you are correct

      • Gabrielle Alyse

        That’s where you’re wrong.

    • infadelicious

Please produce evidence that demonstrates Islam’s inclusion of gays and while you’re at it, where is your burqa? Have you had a clitorectomy ? Ponder those points before you compare the tolerance of different faiths.

      • Gabrielle Alyse

I wasn’t saying that Muslims are tolerant, but I was saying that Christians tend not to be. The pot calling the kettle black.

        • infadelicious

Did you learn backpedalling from watching the current admin? You implied it.

          • Gabrielle Alyse

I suppose you’re free to interpret what I say however you please, but as I said, I didn’t mean it that way.

        • Combat Veteran Seabee

I don’t see “Christians,” Blowing up innocent women and children! Now who tends to be INTOLERANT? By the way, it is you that tends to be IGNORANT!

          • Gabrielle Alyse

Perhaps not today, but let’s not forget that if history is forgotten, it’s doomed to repeat itself. Based on this article and the comments, I’d say Christians are rather intolerant as well… they’re essentially judging this man not on the content of his character (b/c all they know about him is he’s homosexual, he just got hired by a Christian University to choreograph a production of Mary Poppins, and he tweeted that he’s proud) but on his sexual orientation. I’d rather judge him based off of his talents and how well he’s able to choreograph for the production, seeing as how this musical is one of my favorites.

    • superdough

You won’t find too many ‘tolerant’ Christians here. Unfortunately, you won’t find many that show love, kindness, or charity either.

The guy choreographs plays. They’re not asking him to teach theology here. If he’s the most talented and experienced person for the job, then give him the job.

Guess what… I want to change the world for Christ too. You’re not going to do it by telling gays that they’re wrong. They actually already know that. We can, however, invite them to learn about an alternate way of life through kindness. Sadly, there isn’t much of that here Gabrielle.

      • Northpaw

”You’re not going to do it by telling gays that they’re wrong. They actually already know that.”

I deg to biffer superdough – all too many of them take pride in their perversion especially Geoffrey Goldberg. His social media pages indicate his support and advocacy for the homosexual agenda, posting “Happy pride, everyone” in June of last year, which was designated as Homosexual Pride Month by Barack Obama. Goldberg is also a member of the Facebook group Marriage Equality New York. It isn’t hatred to separate ourselves from their influence whenever possible and in this case it was easy to do so, God knows there are enough opportunities to witness to them without sharing dressing rooms and stages with them.

        • superdough

Many unbelievers take pride in their sin. That doesn’t mean that they don’t know they have sinned. Read the gospel of John. Jesus makes it pretty clear that the Holy Spirit has come to convict the world of it’s sinfulness. They know.

          • Northpaw

True enough but in his outward persona – the very public face he choses to display – there is vocal and visual denial, indeed in-your-face outlandish refusal to admit his sin, thus bad influences on the weaker brethren or sisteren ;) not aware of the subtle distinctions you or I may believe he clandestinely acknowledges and it is those who should not be exposed to his evil.

          • superdough

“Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position…” “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” Romans 12:14-16; 18

“Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?” Romans 2:4
This article is neither an attempt at living at peace with Mr. Goldberg, nor is it showing him kindness, which could lead to his repentance. The ‘so called’ Christians posting nasty comments about him because of his sin need to go read their Bible and do what it says.

          • Northpaw

The Bible says in ”Proverbs 4:14 Do not set foot on the path of the wicked or walk in the way of evildoers” and Proverbs 16:17: “The highway of the upright avoids evil; those who guard their ways preserve their lives.” There is no contradiction in the verses you quote, i.e. “Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position…” “Low position” doesn’t mean evil doers.

We are back to where we must use discernment. For instance we know instinctively that what is acceptable for adults isn’t always acceptable for children and young adults. So too what is right and proper for day to day conversation and instruction isn’t right and just in a teaching setting, most especially a Christian setting. In our everyday lives we should, indeed we are commanded to “Live in harmony with one another” but that doesn’t mean we must expose formative young minds to evil doers in whatever milieu when it can be avoided.

          • superdough

What a distortion of scripture! if you were setting foot “on the path of the wicked” or walking “in the way of evildoers” with Mr. Goldberg, means that you’re living as he does and sinning like he sins! If that scripture is telling you to completely separate your life from the unbeliever, then you better toss out the entire new testament because it tells us otherwise. To hire a non-Christian to direct a non-Christian production is no different than hiring a non-Christian to mow your yard, work on your car, operate on your pinky toe, or any other secular task. Again, the college hired him to direct the play, Mary Poppins. That has absolutely zero to do with Christianity or Christian living. It would be analogous to you inviting him to your church and asking him to help set up chairs. But, I seriously doubt most of the commenters here on this site are willing to invite someone like Mr. Goldberg to their church, which really is the crux of what I’m trying to say.

College students are hardly children, nor are their Christian teachers free from sin. The hatred displayed here for the unbeliever is hardly Christ like. Paul told us to stop judging people outside the church. Jesus said God will judge us by the same standard with which we judge others. Paul also said to stop looking down our noses at unbelievers because none of us were saved by the good we did but by grace.
It’s almost every other day we see another article on here trashing unbelievers for acting like… unbelievers! And we wonder why they won’t step foot in our churches.

          • Northpaw

Seems to me you are the one judging us here who disagree with you and you do so quite self righteously. Your analogy: “To hire a non-Christian to direct a non-Christian production is no different than hiring a non-Christian to mow your yard, work on your car, operate on your pinky toe, or any other secular task” fails simply because he is not being asked to mow a lawn or fix a car but to be involved in intimate arrangements involving personal contact with impressionable young people who are at a stage in life where such impressions can make them most susceptible to that influence.

I can see that you are determined to maintain your position at all costs as my earnest beseeching is of no influence and as Moody Bible Institute Pastor Donald Cole used to say, a man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still so I will gracefully bow out and leave the field to the rest of those slighted by you to defend themselves and to you to continue your jeremiad against all the rest of us.

          • superdough

lol, it’s ironic that once verbally beaten about being judgmental, you defend yourself with the “don’t judge me” argument. Good luck to you.

          • Northpaw

It seems to me either pride has taken a huge bite out of your hide preventing you from acknowledging the truth or you genuinely believe subjecting young people unnecessarily to evil influences is somehow a good thing, either way it is unseemly for two Christians to continue in a public feud about a matter that shouldn’t even be in contention. Go in peace brother.

  • Stinkburger

Nothing to be proud of, Geoffrey.

Interesting… Homosexuals have been doing all KINDS of jobs since time immemorial IE; Naval Aviation, Automotive/motorcycle technician, coach driver/mechanic, bicycle technician… And that’s just MY resume. But please, do NOT ask me to decorate your house, choreograph a play or design the latest fashion. I am FAR more comfortable troubleshooting a Bosch fuel injection system or the hydraulics of an A7 aircraft or Sikorsky Sea King Helicopter. And yes…I am a PROUD Veteran AND a homosexual!
And Gloria… We are EVERYWHERE and we can do ANYTHING so get over it!

Cute aint he! You see this proves my point, if it weren’t for his “advocacy” , most folks would not object ! But the “chicago shower maiden” has given all kinds of weirdos false feelings of “power and entitlement”, that will soon be negated by nature and human decency !

I am ashamed to say now that I graduated from Liberty and now I fully understand why I am not to continue on and get my JD’s in law from this university, God knew in advance that they were going to follow the wrong path and he kept me from this route. If young Jerry’s dad were alive he would have a fit and I guarantee he is rolling over in his grave at this one, for he stood for Godly principles that were strictly Biblical based and never ever would have tolerated this type of actions. The Bible clearly states that Homosexuality is a sin, and all sinners unless they repent and truly mean it will burn in the lake of fire. This is not a hate message for anyone who may think it is for we are to hate the sin but love the sinner, while at the same time we are never to accept the sin but denounce the sin and pray for the sinner.

If is a world full of fairies, every time I look at the news, there is something else about gays. This propaganda is going to turn this country into a mess. It is reported that gays are 3% of the population but I am beginning to believe it is more like 50%

    • Panors77

It is only 3% or less……they just want you to THINK it’s 50%. Too bad their propaganda is working, heh.

This is crazy! I also heard that they hired an un-repentant liar to manage the cafeteria, a bookstore cashier who cheats on his taxes and I am pretty sure there’s a janitor there that drinks alcohol! Personally, I think all of us ‘non-sinners’ should band together and openly condemn him some more. Then, maybe he would repent and enter into this kind, loving community of believers where God intends for him to be.

non-sinners? We all sin everyday of our lives. Saved by Grace. I have never heard of a description of non-sinners.

        Sarcasm escapes you.

When a Christian school doesn’t have the guts to stand by it’s values, we are in deep trouble. This is happening more & more. Churches that forget what the Bible says, ministers who perform same sex marriages, now Christian schools. Did ANY of these people ever truly believe?
