Author and retired neurosurgeon Benjamin Carson told radio talk show host Hugh Hewitt that “the likelihood is strong” that he will be seen on the debate stage next year. Though the Republican nomination field will probably be large, Carson says that if the people want him to run, he’ll do it.

Giving a “no later than” final decision end date of May 2015, Carson says he is thoughtfully weighing whether he is best suited for the job, and carefully examining whether Americans truly want a country that is “for, of and by the people.”
