Bill of Rights: Even One Obama Has Not Violated? Pt 3
Over at the 24/7 televised insane asylum, MS-NBC, a snippet of videotape from several months ago is enjoying a bit of a revival. It features a proud “DREAMer” illegal alien, Erika Andiola, confronting amnesty-opponent Rep. Steve King (R-IA), and daring him to tear up her DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) card. This card was issued during Phase I of Barack Obama’s lawless grant of amnesty in 2012 to “children” (who could be as old as 31) brought into the U.S. by their law-breaking parents. Rep. King declined the offer.
Unfortunately, President Payback stands, pen and phone at the ready, to continue tearing up our precious Constitution by unilaterally granting amnesty to approximately 5 million illegals.
I hope that you will all indulge me for a few minutes while I express my love and devotion to that outdated document, the U.S. Constitution, drafted over 200 years ago by DWEM (Dead White European Men) who stuck their necks out to make it happen. It has been pronounced “quaint” by none other than liberal wunderkind/twit, the Washington Post‘s Ezra Klein. If a guy ever looked like he was about to be on the receiving end of an atomic wedgie, it’s this guy, the “whippersnapper apparatchik,” Mr. Klein. He finds the Constitution “confusing, because it was written over 100 years ago. Yeah, that Gettysburg Address is also a stumper, right, my lefty friend? That’s obviously a fine education they give you at UCLA. In fairness to Ezra, I hear that he has mastered every level of World of Warcraft.
Unfortunately, it’s not only the silly, callow Mr. Klein who regards the Constitution as a relic of a bygone age. Barack Obama himself is no fan of the document of “negative liberties,” a way to obfuscate what he really thinks; specifically, that the Constitution is deeply flawed because it is primarily a restriction on the federal government, and that’s bad.
How is the government going to do all the great things it can do for people with all that Constitution throwing up a bunch of obstacles like keeping it from spreading the wealth around? How far would Castro have gotten with that sort of thing holding him back? Precisely!
Good thing for him that a sufficient number of Americans have been dumbed down by government schools and pop culture laden “news” that they don’t have the slightest clue what the Constitution requires. To quote that great democrat and aspiring president Hillary Clinton, what difference does it make?

The Fifth Amendment
Viewers of television court room and crime drama programs (and former IRS harridan Lois Lerner) know the 5th Amendment as providing protection against self-incrimination. In addition, it also states that no person shall ” be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.”
Barack Obama’s EPA has demonstrated a breathtaking disregard for both Congressional enactments and the rights of law-abiding Americans. Just last summer, they arrogantly proposed a rule allowing them to garnish private citizens wages without a court order, which they withdrew after a public outcry. (I guess they didn’t have anyone like Prof. Jonathan Gruber around to explain to them that “lack of transparency” is a political advantage.)
The Supreme Court unanimously smacked down their attempt to re-write a Congressional statute to make changes that would make its actions more politically palatable. They have placed their jack boots on the necks of people who dared to commit heinous acts like build a pond or a house on their private property.
Then there’s the four American citizens killed by Obama drones, including Anwar al-Awlaki and his 16-year-old son Abdulrahman. Without a doubt, they were certainly were deprived of their lives and liberty without due process of law. I shed no tears for the terrorist scum al-Awlwaki, however, I think we can all imagine the outcry if a Republican president has blown up four U.S. citizens.
The Six and Seventh Amendments
Recall that the Obama Regime wanted to try the mastermind of 9/11, Khalid Sheik Mohammed, in a federal court, just blocks from Ground Zero, a decision that outgoing Attorney General Eric Holder stands by to this day. He and his boss said things like those “military tribunals set up by President George W. Bush are unconstitutional, and undermine our values,” and similar clap trap. So, by their own standards, they are violating the 6th Amendment.
The oppressive fines that can be levied by federal agencies, like the EPA, certainly violate the spirit of the 7th Amendment, which requires a jury trial “where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars.” In the cases mentioned above, the EPA was levying fines of $37,500 a day minimum.
The Eighth Amendment
This one prohibits cruel and unusual punishment. Have you heard an Obama speech lately?
The Ninth and Tenth Amendments
Arguably, these are the most important amendments in the Bill of Rights because they make it very clear that the Founders designed a system in which separation of powers and limitations on the federal government would protect liberty.
Barack Obama’s many lawless actions, almost too many to count at this point, caused liberal law professor Jonathan Turley to state “[t]he problem with what the president is doing is that he’s not simply posing a danger to the constitutional system. He’s becoming the very danger the Constitution was designed to avoid. That is the concentration of power.”
Obviously, the Bill of Rights, like the rest of the Constitution, is an obstacle to Barack Obama’s scheme to “remake” America, so it has to go, sacrificed on the altar of socialism, unless, of course, someone stops him.
