AMERICA’S IMMIGRATION PROCESS: Broken or Just Inconvenient?

In the midst of talks that go on between staunch illegal immigration supporters and those who support America’s laws, there is one theme that repeatedly comes up; that our immigration process is “broken”. How is the process “broken”? When liberal talking-heads or Obama complain about our system, all they talk about is how it’s “broken”, but they never give reasons as to why.

Currently, it takes work to become an American citizen, something a large majority of the left sees as a bad thing. A person must accomplish such things as being able to read, write, and speak English; as well as learn U.S. history and how our Constitution works.
What exactly is wrong with having expectations of a person who is going to be given citizenship without being born into it? It has long been a huge honor and privilege to become an “American” for true immigrants that came before these impostors. Many of them chasing the American dream where learning to assimilate and contribute to America; it gave them a sense of pride and loyalty to the country that promised them opportunity and stability.

If Obama and his band of progressive goons have their way, criminals will be given a free pass to become a citizen by the stroke of a pen. The mid-term elections were seen as a huge victory to many Republican loyalists, but for Conservatives it was a day filled with skepticism, serving the establishment up a heavy dose of a cautionary tale reminding them that their chances have run out.

Many of the GOP hopefuls campaigned on the promise to stop Obama’s lawless amnesty. Republicans have done nothing to stop Obama, and how they handle his executive lawlessness will seal their fate for their future as a party. Every single elected official is to blame for America’s “open borders”.  Make no mistake about it, they all want amnesty.

Ted Cruz once again takes center stage calling out newly elected Republicans to do what they said they were going to do, saying, “The simple thing that I would urge to every Republican who spent the last year campaigning across this country saying ‘If you elect me, we will stop President Obama’s amnesty,’ do what you promised. Doing what you promised doesn’t mean, as it so often does in Washington, sending a really stern letter and having a meaningless show vote.”

John Boehner is all over the map regarding amnesty ranging from supporting it to wanting to hold off on it, depending on who he’s talking to. Contradicting himself as he tries to scold Obama trying to save face. On Tuesday, Boehner told reporters that “Frankly, we have limited options and limited abilities to deal with it directly”. The suggestion of using the “power of the purse” targeting the Department of Homeland Security may be a losing battle as many Republicans may not support that effort leading to a government shutdown.

The time to deal with the illegal criminals that have flooded our country and broken our laws was when they were crossing the fences by the thousands. If any of them cared about what these criminals were doing, they would not have been transported all over the country using our tax dollars. If they cared, aid workers wouldn’t have been threatened for talking about the diseases coming across and what they had to deal with at the make-shift check points by the border. The Mexican president would have been dealt with accordingly for encouraging his people to break our laws. If they cared at all, “rescue beacons” would not have been installed in the desert to help save an illegal in distress. If they cared at all, border agents would have been able to do their jobs instead of being attacked by boulders to the head. If they cared at all about the American people, the borders would have been secured and sealed years ago.

What American citizens feel about illegal immigration simply doesn’t matter to elected officials. Our Constitution doesn’t matter to our elected officials. One thing they forget is power does not belong to them as they are simply government servants. It belongs to the American people and the people have said “no” to amnesty. All the citizens are doing is watching helplessly as our country gets destroyed from the inside out by tyrannical leaders, all according to plan.
