YOUR CHOICE, PATRIOTS: Breitbart, Coulter and Company — or Benjamin Shapiro?

Donald J. Trump has been a refining fire in this campaign. Those that support/
endorse/defend him will have their reasons but they won’t have their principles. And their choice reveals that they were never loyal to Conservatism, or to the Constitution, certainly not to the divine prescriptions that we have in Holy Writ.

Trump supporters, like Libertarians, are varied in their motivations but one thing is sure of those who once or still call themselves “Conservative” only to stoop to support an authoritarian nationalist solely because they are enamored with “winning,” – they aren’t faithful.

What’s next for this Exodus generation? Charlie Sheen?

You’re surprised at fellow “Evangelicals” for their recent behavior? You’re flummoxed that “Conservatives” are for sale? It shouldn’t be that alarming. Look, anyone who isn’t grounded in the Word, anyone who takes the Constitution lightly, is going to be for sale to the highest bidder.

Those who are only persuaded and not convinced will not stand when the storm comes. The house may have been beautiful for a long time but the sand that it was built upon was insufficient.  And we’re seeing a lot of sand lately.

Fox News, Breitbart, Drudge, Mike Gallagher, Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, William J. Bennett, Dr. Benjamin Carson – these are the Mojave desert when it comes to foundational principles.

It’s not that these people are “showing their true colors”, it’s merely that these people have no colors, like the “fan” that cheers for whoever is the undefeated team that year. They haven’t been a secret Golden State fan all this time, they’re just up for grabs.

And the same “Evangelicals” who are now making excuses for their support of The Don, the same “Conservatives” who defend every duplicity, inanity, and insanity that goes on with Simon bar Chutzpah, would have been arguing that Sam Adams can’t defeat King George, the Boston Tea Party was a humiliation, and that no rabble, spouting platitudes about liberty, has an inkling of a chance to defeat the greatest empire of the day.
When I hear these people dance around the truth in defense of the indefensible, today, I’m reminded that two out of three Colonials were just as loose with the truth and their “principles” as those who were going to tea-party meetings and muttering “Constitution” in the wake of the lawless Obama.

Come on, you have to know that not everyone who is there on a Sunday Morning singing
“Rock of Ages” actually means it. Be grateful for the spoon that stirred the glass that has allowed us to see their true character.

Then again, when you see someone like Benjamin Shapiro walk away from a lucrative job, expose the duplicity of what was once a righteous Watchman on the Wall organization, and resign based on principle – embrace that man as a modern day Patrick Henry. He’s lived it in front of our eyes. He deserves it. He is a voice worth listening to and echoing.

When we have forgotten the “sunshine patriots” and self-proclaimed “Conservative Warriors,” who talked a good game until shots were fired, we will still be quoting Benjamin Shapiro and telling our children about what true integrity looks like.

And that’s how heroes are born.

Share if you agree: Ben Shapiro is the stuff from which heroes are made.
