Things got heated in this exchange between an Imam and a Pastor while talking about radical Islam — especially when the Pastor said something the Imam did NOT like about his prophet.
In a contentious exchange about Islamic terrorism and its linkages with Muslims and Islam, a pastor described Muhammad as a “bloodthirsty warlord” in pushing back against an imam’s assertion that “radical Islam” is a misnomer. Joining Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity on Tuesday, Pastor Robert Jeffress and Imam Mohammad Ali Elahi staked out opposing positions over the issue.
Describing the term “radical Islam” as a problematic neologism, Elahi divorced Islamic terrorism from being at all grounded in authentic Islamic doctrine.
Drawing a contrast between Christianity and Islam as doctrines, Jeffress shared his view of the central figures of the two religions and their respective sacred texts.
“You can’t find one verse in the New Testament that says, ‘Kill unbelievers.’ Jesus, the founder of our faith, didn’t kill anybody. But you look in the Quran, you can find thirty-five sword verses,” said Jeffress.”
“Muhammad was nothing but a bloodthirsty warlord who beheaded six hundred Jews who would not follow him,” added Jeffress.
