As one who proactively and financially supported Gov. Mitt Romney in 2012, I must say I am greatly disappointed by his outspoken opposition to the prospective Republican nominee, Donald Trump. And the Romney Retreat and virtual campaign against the elected nominee is disgusting! Frankly, I have lost my respect for the former candidate whom I once held in high esteem.
I am similarly appalled by Speaker Paul Ryan’s and Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell’s public criticism of The Donald. Certainly their concerns could have been conveyed privately to the candidate. Their failure of leadership has most certainly diminished Republican prospects in November.
The contrast between the Republican leadership and the Democrat leadership is enormous. The Dems rally around Crooked Hillary – one of the most flawed candidates in the history of their party. The Republicans, on the other hand, are going out of their way to publicize their disapproval of Donald Trump. Frankly, I am now beginning to understand why the Republican Congress has been so ineffective in delivering on their campaign promises.
Consider Hillary Clinton’s recent speech at Planned Parenthood? It was shocking! Hillary strongly endorsed the abortion rights of women – while denying a baby’s right to life. In other words, according to Hillary, it’s OK to kill babies in the womb. They have no rights until they are born.
In contrast, Donald Trump made a presentation to a religious organization wherein he unequivocally summarized his strong opposition to abortion. Clearly, his position is the polar opposite of Crooked Clinton. Praise the Lord!
One must ask, is Hillary the kind of person we want in the White House? I don’t think so!
Clearly, the Democrats and the Leftist media are deploying the same smear tactics against Trump that they used against Gov. Romney in 2012. They used his 47% speech to discredit him with working-class and minority voters. Now they are doing the same via charges of racism against Donald Trump.
Will the American people again be manipulated into extending the failed administration of Barack Obama? Certainly, the inability of the Republicans to work together – and to raise the necessary funding – and to effectively communicate an appropriate message to the voters – will enhance the Democrats chances in the fall. And if they lose, the Republicans will have no one to blame but Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, Reince Priebus, Mitt Romney and their stupid cohorts.
