JEFF SESSIONS: Will He Drain The Swamp, Or Feed The Gators?

It’s dangerous in the swamp of DC. Especially, if you campaigned on draining the whole gator infested thing! Sometimes, even people you appointed can turn against you. They can chomp onto your leg and dive to the depths in a death spiral. It happens all the time in our nation’s capital.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions was appointed by President Trump. He now has the opportunity to become part of “Making America Great Again” or singlehandedly undercut President Trumps efforts to drain the swamp.

Rumors are swirling amongst the DC staffers and lobbyists. Will Sessions succumb to Las Vegas Billionaire Sheldon Adelson or will he stand strong for the Tenth Amendment?

No pun intended…but all bets are off!

Adelson’s game for some time has been to use his vast supply of wealth to control lawmakers in Washington to do his bidding. Also, known as…the swamp. Corruption run amuck. Pay to play. The smoky back room deal. Call it what you want…it’s wrong and exactly what Trump promised to end.

Will AG Sessions join Trump in stamping out swamp things like Sheldon Adelson or will he sell out like so many before him?

Adelson owns brick and mortar casinos all over the world. The single biggest threat to his empire is online gaming. If you can sit in your underwear and fulfill your fix for gaming…why would you ever need to go to Vegas?

Gambling has always been a contentious issue. The framers of the Constitution relied on Federalism to solve the debate and it has been a beautiful thing ever since. Gambling laws vary wildly from state to state. Isn’t that awesome?

Some states allow gambling, while others don’t. Nevada has casinos, while Utah doesn’t even have a lottery. Georgia lets people buy lottery tickets online, while the Mississippi River is full of gaming boats. I have to think this is exactly how the Founders might have wanted things to go.

Whenever big money is at stake you can bet corruption is not far behind. Sheldon Adelson didn’t become a billionaire online. He made his money in Vegas one card at a time. He’s betting that there is a whole lot more money to be made in that mafioso desert oasis, if only he can crush the scourge of online gaming. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas right? Did Sheldon make Jeff Sessions an offer he can’t refuse?

Adelson is waging a multimillion dollar campaign to overturn state laws and control the federal government as well. He is in bed in DC and his surrogates have introduced the Restore America’s Wire Act (RAWA). This is basically a bill to bar states from allowing online gaming. If you can’t beat your competition in the marketplace…enlist the power of government to crush them with bureaucracy and laws.

You might have thought that with the new administration guys like Adelson would be sent packing, sadly no. There is blood in the water and the swamp things are hungry.

Rumor is that the new DOJ might be more receptive to Adelson’s nefarious plans than ever before. If online gaming somehow draws Aces and Eights…you can bet Sheldon Adelson and his congressional minions will be to blame.

A move like this would be disastrous for President Trump. Adelson is a major donor to the Republican Party. Can you say Reince Priebus? Sheldon, the Godfather of Vegas, Adelson also was a significant contributor to Trump’s inaugural. Allowing Adelson to shred the constitution will signify that we are not watching a draining of the swamp…simply a changing of the guard.

States should be able to decide the gambling laws for themselves. They don’t need Washington or Las Vegas telling them what to do. Gutting the Tenth Amendment wasn’t something that Trump ran on…maybe it’s time to remind Attorney General Jeff Sessions about that.

Trump ran on jobs and making America great again. He meant ALL of America, not simply the connected and the rich. If Jeff Sessions wants to pay back his cronies, he’s got another think coming. Corrupt Attorney Generals and gangster Las Vegas Billionaires making deals as if no one will even notice is not what Conservatives who supported Trump had in mind.

Sounds like the swamp to me. Hey, Trump, good luck with that!
