The Body Politic, Polar Bear Carcasses and The Press Corpse

Our United Nations Ambassador is a “blameless target” for Benghazi, the president urges other political representatives to “take (him) on” instead, the president, according to groveling Governor Andrew Cuomo, has “fixed” the havoc wrought by hurricane Sandy. The president declares November 15th America Recycles Day. The president renews his attacks on “the rich, “continuing to blame George Bush and ignoring responsibility for his Brobdingnagian deficit. The messianic president and his sainted lady wife’s figurines have now been included in some Italian-made crèche tableaux. Our Secretary of State will testify about the Libyan attack … after an independent Accountability Review Board hands down its finding. The Senate resumes work with a vote on the disposal of polar bear carcasses. It seems one can’t swing a dead cat without hitting a politically-based headline guaranteed to strike one senseless.

Let’s take just the first example. The Lyin’ King’s spirited defense of Susan Rice, United States Ambassador to the United Nations, is both an assault and an insult to rationality. Susan Rice, a long-time Progressive automaton, is an innocent victim who was merely “acting on the best information available to her.” The president says she was sent out by the White House; adamantly regurgitating the fantasy about a video causing random acts of violence in the Middle East. By “the White House” one can only presume that he means that he actually authorized her appearance on five Sunday news programs, not the actual brick-and-mortar structure itself. Judging by what the mainstream media wants us to believe, one can never tell.

Our disingenuous president wants everyone to lay off of Susan Rice. He challenges elected officials to go after him, instead. The president is rumored to want Ms. Rice for his next Secretary of State. The stage has already been set so that any opposition to Ms. Rice will be nothing but a racist attack upon a defenseless black woman by “old, white guys”. One of whom, the press fails to point out, is Senator Kelly Ayotte. Not old, not a guy. She is white, however; one out of three ain’t bad, right?

Any dissent with this administration is immediately labeled “unfounded” at a minimum or more likely, racist, by the leftist press. Our elected officials are no help. One can only ridicule a press “corpse” so ethically atrophied that it no longer makes any pretense at impartiality. The president can talk the talk because he knows that, politically speaking, he’s virtually bullet-proof. Establishment Republicans and the mainstream press have made certain of it. So, how, exactly, is anyone supposed to “go after” the president?

Education, over the very long term, is one answer. The short-term answer, however, is to just tell the Emperor he has no clothes on.

Rush Limbaugh has been saying “stop accepting the narrative” for years. It may appear obvious but our society has been indoctrinated into accepting stupidity and lies in the name of political correctness. This could be the closing chapter to America as we’ve known it; everyone shares a responsibility to be honest … out loud.

Our politicians have to be able to call something a lie, without fear. Citizens must, once again, be responsible for speaking their minds. If it is a given that a lie will be believed if it is told often enough, the same should hold for the truth. Silence in the face of political abuse is cowardice. There is no longer any logical excuse to give up one’s reason. To quote Voltaire: “To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize.”
