Reacting to Newtown: Tragedy and Rationality
I started writing this article Friday afternoon. I had to stop because I was too upset. That was a good thing. What wasn’t so good was the immediate presence of the “ban all guns” rhetoric and “kill all the NRA apologists” incendiary posts. Soon after were the gun right’s supporter’s responses.
It all bugged me, but not for the reasons you might think. Yes, I am a gun rights, 2nd Amendment supporter, and there were arguments made that I would get behind. What bugged me is that it started before the smoke had even cleared from the school hallways. For God’s sake people, let the families have 5 minutes to mourn! That was not the time!
