Should Texas Congressman use Sequester to Slash Obama Private Golf Trips

800px-ACJziegfeld_cakeThe White House is off limits to Americans by presidential edict, because of Obama’s intent to penalize the tourists for an idea that he and his ingenious staff created. Now with Sequester cuts, White House Tours are being terminated while no mention of White House staff cuts or even a reduction in lavish vacations taken by the Obama’s are on the budgetary cutting block.

Well, thanks to Rep. Louie Gohmert, (R-Texas), the imperial presidency will be made to feel the fiscal Sequester heat as well if his proposed amendment becomes law. Congressman Gohmert firmly believes that President Obama’s devotion to golfing with quotable notables like his recent excursion with Tiger Woods should be permanently curtailed. In other words, if the American people are to be banned from the White House, Obama should be banned from using public dollars to finance his golfing holidays and weekends.

The amendment, which would be attached to a continuing resolution to fund the federal budget, is quite concise: “None of the funds made available by a division of this Act may be used to transport the President to or from a golf course until public tours of the White House resume.”

For too long the president and his wife have felt that traveling on the people’s dime was an entitlement. This imagined imperial entitlement reasons that, in times of financial stress and continuing economic plight, their lavish lifestyle should not be curtailed. Instead of demonstrating that they should lead by example and demonstrate financial restraint, by curtailing their expenditures, they have escalated them.

Compare the difference between the House of Windsor and the Chicago Obama’s. The Royal Family in their entire splendor cost the British taxpayers a whopping $57.8 million in 2011, according to the Daily Caller. On the other hand, the Obama’s tax payers were left with a $1.4 billion tax bill for their expenses and staff.

No matter, the American people have decided up until now, the “let them eat cake or BBQ” is fine. Yet the line in the sand is drawn when depriving the American people having access to their house; the Obama’s have now over reached. The cavalier attitude that they have demonstrated can and should be put to an end.

They much like the Royal family in England should be forced to live on a budget, which means, no more public trips at public expense. “Pay as you fly” has to be the new order of the day.

The indignation over the canceling of White House tours has even outraged the former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich, who chastised the decision as being truly dishonest and, “Childish!” Gingrich went on to stress that “The golf weekend in Florida cost enough to keep the White House open for months,” according to International Business Times.

Louie_Gohmert,_official_portrait,_111th_CongressWhat is this presidential gamesmanship truly about? Just look at the facts. The president has derided congressional Republicans over the last year or more about going after the middle-class through draconian measures like cutting waste, fraud and abuse and excessive administration spending.

Instead, Obama has demanded more authority to tax more and spend more. He has savaged Republican leaders, much like a petulant spoiled child, when he could not get his way. Finally, Republican House Speaker John Boehner has adamantly refused to budge one more inch on giving into the empty rhetoric offered by Obama and Democrat leaders. The $85 billion worth of automatic budget cuts went into effect after Obama signed the legislation.

What Boehner and other congressional republican leaders and many conservatives had argued, was Obama’s public tantrums about the sky falling were radically untrue. In fact, both the Washington Post and the New York Times had attacked the dishonesty exhibited by both Obama and his Education Secretary Arne Duncan. Secretary Duncan made a clumsy attempt to correct his earlier misstatements at least three times, which only made his apparent desire to frighten parents and teachers even worse.

Their lies had come home to roost.

It is time for the congress, the representatives of the American people, to cut off the Obama’s allowance. If Obama wants to play golf, he can use a local putt-putt course or head over to Andrew’s Air Force Base. Take the savings from not having to visit his Hollywood friends and rapper confidants like Jay Z and singer Beyonce and continue the White House tours of the people’s house.

Obama should lead by example and not by imperial edict, because by 2014, if not sooner, America’s heartland will demand articles of impeachment for his erratic and often unconstitutional behavior and actions. When the American people are successful, Obama will not have a golf club to lean against, thanks to Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas. After impeachment, maybe Tiger Woods will be hiring.
