Jim Wallis Leans Even More Left On Gay Marriage
Founder of Sojourners and spiritual advisor to President Obama, Jim Wallis has recently changed his stance on gay marriage in an interview with the Huffington Post. Wallis, an adamant proponent of “social justice,” did not comment on whether this was his theological stance or just his civil liberties opinion. He stated that marriage is becoming a lost cause across all demographics and that we need a renewal to change the tide. But in that renewal, or deeper understanding of marriage as he called it, we should include homosexual couples.
Wallis says he wants a “deeper commitment to marriage that is more and more inclusive.” According, he believes that America is a “pluralist” nation and that the religious folk, especially the Christians, should be mindful of that fact. No wonder Obama chose him to counsel his spirit.
