Soros and Al-Waleed: A Tale of Two Big Shots

saudi-prince-alwaleedAl-Waleed has also bought stock in various companies, including News Corporation (of which he owns 7%) — the parent company of Fox News. In fact, he likes to throw his weight around when its comes to Fox News being fair and balanced. When Muslim immigrants were rioting in Paris in 2005, the Fox News banner read “Muslim riots.” After Al-Waleed saw the banner, he called up Rupert Murdoch (owner of News Corporation) and told him that the riots were not Muslim riots but instead they were “riots out of poverty.” Within thirty minutes, the banner read “civil riots.” Al-Waleed would brag about his role in the matter.

I’m not sure how rioting will make one rich — perhaps it is a way of getting jiyza (tribute) from non-Muslims.

In addition to these two big shots, former Chicago mayor Richard M. Daley is now on Coca-Cola’s Board of Directors. I’m not sure how or why he is on the board, but let’s hope he doesn’t do to Coca-Cola what he did to Chicago.
