Obama v Rumsfeld — Preserving Deniability or Actual Exec Leadership?

Rumsfeld says David McCullough, the historian, was asked what he wished America would do differently. He said he wished our schools would teach history. They are not doing an appropriate job – and our children are uninformed about the critical lessons of history.

Rumsfeld’s pick for the greatest leaders is headed by Anwar Sadat, who threw the all-powerful Soviets out of Egypt and made peace with the hated Israelis. He also puts Lady Margaret Thatcher at the top of his list. She was an economic giant who said the trouble with Socialism is that eventually it runs out of other people’s money.

According to Rumsfeld there are known knows, known unknowns, and unknown unknowns.

People tend to hire in their own image, only weaker.  He says: A’s hire B’s – B’s hire C’s – and C’s hire D’s.

Needless to say, Donald Rumsfeld is one of the most brilliant men to have served our nation. He’s the kind of guy we should be electing as President and Commander-In-Chief. His calm, thoughtful demeanor – his keen answers to important questions – and his willingness to say he doesn’t know when he doesn’t know – makes him perhaps the greatest Secretary of Defense in US history.

I’m ordering Rumsfeld’s Rules today.
