Another factor people might ignore (due to the gun-control crowd) is that tragedies like these are not as common as they seem. In fact, they are quite rare due to common sense and learning firearm safety and responsibility.
But gun-control advocates will have none of it. Just as Rahm Emanuel has persuaded Obama to never let a good crisis go to waste, the gun-control crowd will not let this tragedy go to waste. Democrats in the Senate are planning to push gun-control legislation again, and no doubt they will try to capitalize of this tragedy.
Thus, the fight to preserve the Second Amendment will continue. And if the Second Amendment is done away with, then our other rights will follow. So, the fight isn’t just about the right to bear arms, but also our freedom.
