Terror Proofing Your Life, pt IV: Apex Predator

What does that mean? Imagine that you, a woman around the age of 30, weighing in at less than 125 pounds (no guilty feelings there ladies)and not armed are out shopping. What must you do to be safe? How can you lower the chances of your being attacked? Actually it is far simpler than you think and perhaps some of you do it instinctively.

Here are a few simple rules to follow which all come from thinking like an apex predator. Ask yourselves these questions. First, do you go out alone? Second, do you have any predictable behaviors like exercise every night at 8:30pm; and lastly, if you were a thug, rapist or murderer what would be the easiest way to attack yourself, in other words what are your own weaknesses?

You don’t have to be a woman to think like this. You can be anyone in any scenario. Be sober-minded and watchful. It will key you into scenarios where things are going to go bad and give you the seconds you need to survive in a situation, if you have a plan – which we will discuss next week.
