Unbelievable Shamelessness: The Left and Kermit Gosnell

Gosnell+WalkThe MSM blackout didn’t surprise me at all. If they had publicized it at any length, the questions about late term abortions and leaving born alive infants to die would have cast a shadow on their favorite person: Barack Obama. Why? Because the President himself is in favor of letting “abortion mistakes” die.

In 2001 when he was an Illinois Senator, he voted “no” to three bills that 1) said that if a doctor performing an abortion believed there was a chance the baby would survive, another physician must be present “to assess the child’s viability and provide medical care”; 2) gave the parents, or a state-appointed guardian, the right to sue to protect the child’s rights; and 3) said that a baby alive after “complete expulsion or extraction from its mother” would be considered a “person, ‘human being,’ ‘child’ and ‘individual.’” In 2003 he again voted no to a bill that stated that a baby who survived an abortion was a “person.”

Because the Supreme Court saw fit to decide that the murder of the unborn should be legal, we have monsters like Gosnell. Because of that decision we have a generation of children who have grown up knowing that, if they get “in trouble”, killing their unborn offspring is no big deal. Life is no big deal. And we wonder why kids are taking up arms and killing other kids?

The only way we, as a nation, are ever going to stop an attitude of disrespect for life is to start remembering that the unborn, the disabled, the aged and the most vulnerable among us have a God given right to live, just as you and I do. God help us all if we don’t.
